    The beach!
    Bret I.

So I need to update my review. I learned this week that Bald Point has a beach wheelchair that you can reserve for free! This enables people with mobility impairments to be able to go down and enjoy the beach! All you need to do is call them and they will make arrangements to meet you in the parking lot to lend it to you. You then can when are ready to go and they will meet you to pick it up! All for free! Your state taxes and park entrance fees at work. Ranger Wade met me today with it and we were able to enjoy a beautiful day on the beach. And I understand that many state parks have them to borrow; all you need to do is call and ask!

Great trails if mowed. Lots of space to think and breathe. I love this park when the trails are mowed.

Ask the Community - Bald Point State Park

Is there camping at that park? Other ideas about where to stay nearby?

While, there isn't camping at the park proper there are many bureau of land management designated camping sites very nearby along with several RV parks within a 5 to 10 mile radius.

The water, sand, sun and sky have always held magic, like religion for free spirited souls. I come here to disconnect on many levels but also to connect with a sense of calmness that only exist by the sea. Some beaches are filled by the masses they flock and frolic and fill every inch of real estate, some beaches seem abandoned, deserted and sacred, that's where you'll find me. Carrabelle Beach is calm, it's tranquil, peaceful and historic. The "forgotten coast" is the last remaining stretch of unspoiled, pristine Gulf Coast beaches, it's like no other and I have experienced many, for me there may not be a better place to do nothing...

It's a stunning crescent-shaped beach with a great view of the Saint George Sound that leads into the Gulf of Mexico. Note that the seagulls are particularly aggressive. I was easing a piece of cheese (cheese!) and they were swarming in a very scary way until there was no cheese left. [Review 14667 overall, 167 of 2021, number 1233 in Florida.]

If that's not enough, the park itself is clean, quiet, well maintained and supported by phenomenal staff which is definitely the icing. The facilities and laundry services are all clean and updated. There is a pool on site, which is always a nice thing to have in Florida. The park itself is never so overrun that you feel like you're constantly on top of somebody else or having somebody else in your space. Our entire time that we stayed here was actually right after Hurricane Helene hit the area, we had only just purchased our house when it was totally ruined by the hurricane & luckily we still had our rig. This spot allowed us to be nearby while we were trying to even just simply be able to get back in our house to assess damage but beyond that the folks here really did everything that they could to support and lift us up and in an exceptionally hard time. I say all of this as a someone who lived full-time on the road in our class A rig prior to buying here locally so I totally understand the usual complaints/hoped for items when you're looking for somewhere to stay. While placed in rule setting, there are beach access points within 10 miles either direction from the campground but genuinely you just can't beat the dock here as far as fishing, hanging and catching the sunrise and sunset. However just really want to highlight how amazing the folks here are as we understood that our who was catastrophically ruined and unlivable, they really went above and beyond to help us out in every way that they could to provide us a place to stay and any support that we may have needed. Just really great people running a really great local, quiet hidden gem.
