I got a…read moregood feeling about him on our initial phone consultation and I had really hoped he would be a good fit when we met with him and it turned out better then I could have ever expected! I was very desperate to find a therapist to help my 23 year old son and I through some issues we have been having and had received some referrals from my EAP at work. None of those referrals were working out - No phone calls back, no website's for my research, or text messages back that they are not taking customers. So yesterday I decided to just google my area and start calling and keep my fingers crossed. I got a call back from Laurie and Creekside who listened to my situation and referred me to Tom. Tom got back to me right away yesterday and had a cancellation and was able to get me in that same day. It was just such luck and such a great response turn around from Tom. My son did not want to do this but I knew it was the right thing for us so he went only because he knew how important it was to me. Our meeting with Tom went great and my son was really comfortable with him and has even agreed to meet with him again. It is now a year out and my son is back into a progressing mode and doing very well, my son is now respectful in the home, doing his share in the home, and learning to become independent. One thing I learned however is that instead of having a contract that required me to evict him, that its better to have him list his address at a PO Box, and then only be in the home as a "visitor", then if he has to be forced to leave there is no legal reason that he has to stay. Fortunately for us, its turned out for the better, and we now have a good working relationship and that contracts are no longer needed. We also got him a Psychoeducational Exam and found out he is learning disabled, this explained some of the reasons for his condition and its helped us to get our son the help he needs and deserves.

I appreciated the treatment I received and, because of that trust, referred numerous friends, family members, and colleagues to her practice without hesitation. I believed in the quality of care enough to confidently recommend the practice to others. After recently being involved in a car accident, I reached out to return as a patient seeking chiropractic care. Instead of being welcomed back, I was told that I could not be treated unless I first retained an attorney. I found that response shocking, deeply inappropriate, and completely contrary to what healthcare should represent. I was not calling for legal advice--I was calling a doctor for medical care. Whether I choose to retain an attorney is a personal legal decision and should have absolutely nothing to do with whether I can receive treatment. A physician's first priority should be caring for patients, not determining whether they have legal representation. To tell a returning patient that they cannot receive treatment unless they hire an attorney is, in my opinion, an unacceptable barrier to care. As someone who spent years trusting this practice and actively referring others, I never imagined I would be denied the opportunity to receive treatment because I chose not to involve an attorney. This experience has completely destroyed the trust and respect I once had for Dr. Crusade and her practice. I feel abandoned, deeply disappointed, and profoundly let down. The patient-first philosophy I believed this practice stood for was nowhere to be found when I needed care the most. I will never again trust or support Dr. Crusade or her practice, and I will never refer another patient. Years of loyalty and countless referrals ended with a single phone call that made it clear my access to care was conditioned on a legal decision rather than a medical need. Patients deserve to know this policy before choosing this practice. The physicians were conservative and had him work through a couple months of different therapeutic solutions until ultimately it was decided that he needed surgery. Post surgery his UC Davis doctor referred us to Scurti Orthotics. This family run business is professional, caring, and ethical. At his first appointment, they measured his foot then created a mold to make sure that the orthotics they were building were custom to his foot and concerns. My father also has a size 15 foot and has had difficulty his whole life finding footwear. He often has to send away mail order for his shoes. So, while we were at this appointment, he was able to try on several shoes, but ultimately placed an order for the right sizing in the colors that he wanted. They had him come back after they had built his customized orthotics and the shoes he ordered had arrived. His second appointment they fit him with the orthotics and the new shoes. On the first try he was still experiencing some discomfort so they made a minor change in their shop and brought it back out for him to try again. He slipped his foot in the shoes and it worked.
