FAST Food: we started with an appetizer Aguachiles with a salsa verde, while not the hottest sauce they serve it with, we were warned it is picante, and it was, but so refreshing! A bottle of the tinto mezclado. Our entrees were Saffron Rice with seafood, super tasty. I even ate the pulpo! We also had the Bistec which was cooked amazingly! It came with a cheese enchilada, beans, Guac and pico de gallo. We ended with their Elote pastry with a scoop of vanilla, an espresso and cappuccino. Everything was just amazing. Atmosphere: this place seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's just 10 miles from Ensenada and set in beautiful wine country. There is an amazing patio, views for miles. A full moon was rising over the mountains which was stunning. Inside is super modern, big fireplace in the middle. We were there early afternoon so there were just a few people there. I'm sure this place is packed at night! Service: our waiter Humberto was awesome. We were his only customers at the moment so he took really great care of us, explained some his favorite items on the menu. Tips: I would really have liked to go back at night, the views here are amazing and I'm sure the night sky is awesome. I will make this a definite stop every time I go to Ensenada.

Perched on a cliff above the Pacific with nothing but open ocean in front of you, this is honestly one of the most iconic spots in all of Valle and I will die on that hill (pun very much intended). Getting there is part of the experience. You park at the bottom, hop on a shuttle, and ride up a winding dirt road to the bar. The drivers are so fun and honestly the whole shuttle vibe is its own thing. People are dancing, singing, already in a great mood before they even arrive. Instant friends every time. Once you're up top, the drinks are flowing and the sunset views are absolutely unreal. I haven't done a full meal here but the chips alone deserve their own Yelp page. Homemade, crunchy, covered in cheese. I could have just eaten those and been completely happy. Oh and one more thing, and I'm being completely serious: please go to the bathroom. Even if you don't need to. Especially if you don't need to. The views from the restroom might be better than some restaurants I've paid full price to eat at. Bar Bura is one of those places I'll keep coming back to no matter how many times I've been. If you haven't gone yet, fix that immediately.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I had a reservation for 6pm at Cuatro Cuatros. The complex has a bar up at the top of the mountain along with airbnbs and a winery at the bottom. We parked our car and was escorted through a plank full of grape vines before getting on a shuttle up the mountain. Before we hopped on the bus, we got to choose a beverage of choice to go up the mountain. I got the modelito (small modelo). The shuttle ride is pretty steep and bumpy so I understand why they have a trained driver to drive. When we got to the top - wow wow wow. Beautiful views of Salsipuedes Bay. We had to walk along the side of the restaurant to get in. For food we got a oaxacan cheese taco, fish and chips with the catch of the day, and a crepe for dessert. For drinks we got a carajillo and a non alcoholic beverage. Everything was great however my favorite bite was the freshly fried fish and chips. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around 1800 MXN and had a great time. Beautiful views with good food. Definitely worth checking out once.

Worth every mile of the drive. The setting alone is reason enough to go. You're dining outside in an agave field under century-old oak trees, with wooden boats scattered around and a mezcal tasting room right next door. It's one of those places where you look around and think "how is this real?" The service was super friendly and warm, which just added to the whole laid back Baja vibe. For wine they keep it simple: one red, one white, one rosé. No 12-page list to stress over, just easy and delicious. I respect it. The guacamole comes topped with chapulines and if you haven't had it that way yet, you're honestly missing out. That little crunch changes everything. Now, the cauliflower tacos. I need to talk about the cauliflower tacos. I'm still thinking about them. I will be back specifically for them. And do yourself a favor and ask your server about the speakeasy before you leave because it's worth it and you don't want to kick yourself later for missing it. Tahona is a total gem and one of the most unique dining experiences in Baja.

The restaurant is full of beautiful art and little treasures that make the whole space feel magical. The service was amazing and very quick. They also bring a stand for your purse. All the food we ordered was phenomenal. We started with guacamole for the table (shared between six people) and it was the perfect portion. For brunch I ordered the Tostadas de Borrego (lamb tostadas) and pork belly tostadas with pozole, and every bite was incredible. The lamb meat was super tender and flavorful. The pork belly was flavorful and with the pozole created a nice bite. Definitely adding this spot to my "must go back" list and try more from the menu.

Service was super friendly and attentive the whole time. Definitely recommend making a reservation since it gets busy. I'll absolutely be going back.

She recommended a milk punch cocktail that incorporated Sotol, which is kind of like tequila but instead of fermenting agave, it ferments Dasylirion and is made only in Chihuahua. Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. Instead of ending my trip at Nortico as previously planned, she helped me find a really cool new bar in Tijuana! Highly recommend.
