Needless to say, I was on Yelp finding someone else for a 2nd opinion. Jennifer at Metz called me and messaged me right away to view video footage and get something scheduled. I was able to call, text, and email her as often or as little as I needed to and ALWAYS received a response. The communication was exceptional from start to finish. Someone came out that same week to take a look and give out a timely estimate. This company does offer financing, although we did not use it. The quote was less than half of what the other company had quoted us. We got a straight forward diagnosis, with honest pricing, and reliable service. The team came out on the day they were scheduled at the time they were scheduled. They were able to complete our project in only 2 days. Extremely efficient, and walked my husband through what they were doing and put us at ease with what still needed to be done. The pictures and reviews from myself and everyone else speaks for themselves. While I hope to never need more restorative services on my property (LOL), if I ever did, I would 10,000% use Metz again. I will be recommending them to anyone I know who needs it. Absolutely amazing!

Petrack Plumbing - Newly installed toilet

I have hired Petrack Plumbing several times. Here are summaries:…read more Appointment #1: The plumbers removed an old utility sink and installed a new utility sink in my laundry room, removed a 1970s-style wet bar in my living room and capped its pipes, and snaked a gutter pipe outside. Afterward, my new sink and pipes worked great. Appointment #2: The plumber used a camera to determine why my gutter drain pipes were not draining properly. He determined that a dry well/pit in my yard was full and needed to be replaced. Appointment #3: A different company had installed a new washer and dryer in my laundry room, and they caused a gas leak and did not level the washer and dryer. Petrack Plumbing arrived at my house in less than one hour. The plumbers reassembled my gas pipe, and they leveled my washer and dryer. Then they charged me $0! Appointment #4: Petrack Plumbing flushed the pipes from my gutter downspouts to my dry well/pit (*different* downspouts, pipes, and dry well than months earlier). They said that my gutters and downspouts are probably clogged and that my dry well might be full as well, but my dry well does not need to be replaced because it can overflow down the hillside. Then Petrack Plumbing replaced a leaking copper pipe in my basement. The pipe had a pinhole, so the plumber replaced that section of pipe with new copper pipe. They said that the other copper pipes in my house are the thicker-wall Type L pipe, so they should last for more decades. Appointment #5: My hot water heater and expansion tank were about a decade old and probably nearing the end of their lifespan, so I hired Petrack Plumbing to install a new water heater and expansion tank. Two plumbers arrived 1.5 hours early, but they did call in advance for our consent. They spent 2.5 hours doing the installation. At the end, they explained to my husband and me what the different parts do. The plumbers had noticed that the old expansion tank and pipes were connected to the hot water rather than the cold water, so they installed the new tank and pipes in the correct location. This extra work cost a little extra money, but the final price was still a couple hundred dollars less than another company's estimate.

I see plenty of bad reviews; many of them being pretty old. I can honestly say my experience, about…read morea week ago, was great. Our water heater broke, was leaking, and the shutoff valve didn't work. So we were looking for quick service, and Kennihan's delivered. I called before the start of normal business hours (probably 7am or so). Whomever fields calls off-hours took my information and promised someone would call me back to discuss service in 15-20 minutes. Sure enough in less than 15 minutes I received a call (I believe from the owner) and was informed service would be scheduled as soon as their service desk folks arrived at 8am to see what techs were available and when. Again, I received a call promptly around 8am, discussed my situation, provided the necessary details to get an over-the-phone estimate, and scheduled a service call for that same day. When the tech arrived around 3.5 hours later, he had the old water heater removed, and the new water heater installed in about 4 hours. With all the complaints I saw others post about being "ripped off," I didn't find that to be true. They installed a quality Rheem gas water heater (not one you can buy at Home Depot), a new shutoff valve for the water and gas, and disposed of the old water heater, and some other bulky parts from an old air filter unit (that had nothing to do with the service call). Conversely, my parents used a different HVAC company, and paid a comparable price for a new water heater installation but didn't have same day service, didn't have one that needed replaced/disposed of, and purchased a different brand of water heater. The total difference in price was $300. All-in-all I felt it what we paid was reasonable. By all means, comparison shop, but I'll be calling these guys the next time I have an HVAC problem.

I have two hot water tanks, one I paid 1900 and it ran for 9 years. The one just went bad and this 8000.00 one never worked. I turned it up to 130 and I have no hot water or pressure. I called them to ask if there is a warranty on the tank and told me "well it's two years old." He wanted 179 to look at it. After reviewing the bad reviews, I told him I will add one too. He hung up on me... I do not recommend this business. When he was at the house, he started telling me my Generac was not done correct and wanted other work it seemed. I am quite happy with my Generac company. I had a radon business scheduled and he wanted this service also. I am quite happy with my radon company. No thanks Kennihan. I don't even think one star is appropriate for this business.

(I should start by mentioning we don't know which location this was from, but as one branch shakes,…read morethe whole tree moves.) We made an appointment for our boiler furnace check up and reset thermostat. We were given an appointment window between 8:00-12:00. It's now after 4:00 and still no one showed! We called them around noon and were told we indeed have an appointment. The worse part for us is that my husband scheduled off for today so we could do something together. Instead we wasted an entire Friday waiting. No calls to apologize or explain. What kind of company does that?! So, at 4:30, the McVay guy showed up. 4 and a half hours past the window time given us! He looked at thermostat, saw it go blank, and informed us we needed a new one at $285! We declined. Turns out, our thermostat needed new batteries. So, not only do they not honor appointment times, they try to sell highly marked up products to people that don't need them. Too bad they can't be honest and punctual, they would get life time customers. We will certainly never use them again.

The installation was fine despite them having to come back out twice to handle some issues. At the time of our installation we contacted the office to purchase an extended warranty (which would cover labor and parts) on the units. The woman we spoke to couldn't find the information about it and would contact us back. We called back several times and were told they would get back to us but we would still be able to purchase the warranty and that they would even back date it for us once they had the info. Arendosh was purchased by McVay and fast forward, we had them come look at the unit due to some leaking issue and they sold us on a whole house plan. The plan would require a monthly fee but they would come out at designated time throughout the year to check the various systems to make sure everything runs the way it should. Another time they can put to look at the slimline units because one didn't seem to be adequately heating. The service call was in excess of $200. We were advised that the cost to repair for the two year old unit would be in excess of $700 for the labor as the part was covered. We again contacted them about the warranty that we had been trying to purchase and we were again told someone would contact us back. We called leaving physical messages as well as messages left in a voice mailbox which also went unanswered. Considering we were not satisfied with their service since becoming McVay, we told them we wanted to cancel the whole house maintenance plan and was left via voicemail that we would only be able to cancel it at six months and that they would charge us back for any work done that was discounted. Amazing!
