On a better note , I was able to schedule estimates with no problem and received great customer service from a different company.

When he arrived he explained a pipe burst at Home Depot and he was working. Would've been helpful context. (Later, we found out from a more reputable plumber he wasn't working there...he was just trolling around). He put a huge hole in our wall under our sink, explained how the work was going to be extensive and require a granite specialist to evaluate because he had to remove the kitchen cabinets and it could possible destroy our kitchen counters as well. We were told it was going to cost thousands. This was on a Thursday (two days before New Year's Eve) and he told us the pipes were all connected to our upstairs bathroom. He explained we couldn't use that bathroom, or the kitchen water (sink, dishwasher, etc) until he came back next week. (Unfortunate as I had a party to cook/bake for the following day.) While "assessing" he flooded our ceiling in the basement, damaging ceiling tiles that we had literally paid contractors to replace a week before (for an unrelated incident). He also broke a valve under the sink. He also went into our basement bathroom and spit his chew into the toilet right in front of me. And didn't flush. He did this again out my front door before leaving. When he arrived the next day, he came early in the morning and immediately announced to my husband, "I gotta take a piss." He accosted my husband for $225 before he left that day "as a deposit." Something didn't feel right about it, so we called another plumber and they arrived Monday. They fixed the issue almost immediately coming back a second time only to fix the valve that Jason broke and patch the hole in the wall. They informed us that the fix was not only a lot simpler (the pipe still needed replaced but no risk to our cabinets or countertops) but at a fraction of the cost. Also, those pipes weren't connected. We could have used the bathroom that entire time. They also informed us that he's known for being untrustworthy and "a drinker." We never got that deposit back.

Here's the response John posted (I'm also attaching a screenshot in case he deletes): "We are always happy to help you, we really give the lowest prices for the highest quality work. What can I offer you, the guarantee for the work has already expired, the manager sent you an invoice for the work, I'm sure that another part has broken, if you want we can come to you for free and see how we can help you, we areflexible and adequate, write me your text message on the phone and we will be happy to solve your problem or write your phone number for communication and I will contact you without fail and help you. Your son said that you need help, and We repeatedly called you on your old phone with offers to help, but you did not answer, I contacted a neighbor, he promised to call back if help was needed, but did not call back. I'm sure we can resolve the misunderstanding if that's what you want to resolve." Here's why this doesn't make sense: A. I never got an invoice for the broken part. I had a lot of trouble contacting them to even get this information and it was all over text. B. I don't have a son. I have two daughters, age 2 and 4. I'd be very surprised if they told John's company that I need help. C. I don't have an old phone, my number has not changed since about 2008. D. I see my neighbors almost every day, John most definitely did not contact them. He also messaged me saying he would help me for free only if I update the review to 5 stars first (screenshot also attached). This is against Yelps terms of service, I have reported this behavior.
