I went to this location in hopes of finding a computer monitor. I came here after visiting three…read moreother pawn shops in Bakersfield and not finding what I was looking for with a reasonable price. (Reasonable price, under $150) I came to this location and within 5-10 minutes found exactly what I was looking for. They had about five to seven monitors for $20 each. The catch! These monitors only accepted VGA hookups so to use them with a modern computer you would need an adapter. I finally settled on one that I liked and asked to see it. The association didn't have a way to test it out so it was for sure a gamble on my end but for the price of twenty bucks how picky can you be. This location had an assortment of different interesting things that people have traded in over the years so if you are into collecting things like coins, baseballs, memorabilia, etc. you may want to check them out. (Plot Twist: the monitor didn't work when I got it home and all sales are final so that was twenty dollars down the drain. I may come back for the other cool stuff they had. )

Hobby shop itself is packed pretty well if you're on the Traxxas train or have a vehicle by one of the big racing brands. Don't show up with something not in those categories and expect to get help though. Randy, the owner is a really nice guy and is very helpful. If it wasn't for the older guys that seem to live there it would be a more inviting place for new drivers. Edit: after seeing the heated arguments/fights at this last event I know for sure I won't be coming back any time soon. Grown men yelling over toy cars is ridiculous.

They also had tables where kids can color and draw, they had games out! Im telling you it is adorable. The man at the register was so friendly, but they keep most of everything locked up so when you do want something you have to ask to have someone open the locked drawers. He was the only one working so although he was at the register busy we had to bug him to unlock items for us. Thats the only reason im not giving 5 stars but he was kind about it. Next time my teenager is wanting to come or I need something as a gift this is my place to go!
