I ordered chocolate to make Christmas candy. Ordered in plenty of time to make the candy. Was notified the chocolate was shipped, however, UPS only showed the label was printed. Six days later the status was the same, still not on the way. I called and was told it had not been shipped because I did not instruct Bakers Authority to send the chocolate. Never received such a request. I then cancelled the order and was told my credit card was credited for the purchase. No credit appeared and now I checked and the chocolate is on the way. Don't do business with Bakers Authority. Terrible customer service and not trustworthy. read more

DON'T BUY FROM THESE SHYSTERS!!!! I ordered what I thought was going to be a 6 lb. brick of BELLA FRANCESCA low-moisture whole milk mozzarella, as pictured on their website. I should have noticed and been suspicious that the brand was not specified in the product description. They shipped me Jacobo's mozzarella, which has twice the sodium per serving. I wanted Bella Francesca specifically because of the much lower sodium content. When I emailed them asking for an authorized return, they asked me for pictures, including the packaging. I wasn't happy about that, but I sent pictures anyway. Since then, they've stonewalled me. I've called and been put on hold, then cut off; called and left a message, never got a return call; sent numerous follow up emails, got bupkis. My next step is to dispute the charge on my AmEx. I don't expect to win, but I want to make it a pain for them. Then I will flame them on every social media platform and review site available to me. Baker's Authority, I hope all the negative publicity was worth it for a lousy 65 bucks or so. read more

Taking advantage of customers during COVID-19 crisis. Also ordered yeast since hard to find at the store. Got same reply as the gentleman who posted already. Said they couldn't cancel my order, but nothing has shipped... already disputing with PayPal. They know they don't have it and are listing it as available, taking your money and making you wait 6 months out till they actually get it in stock. Give me a break. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! If anything goes wrong with your order you are on your own with no product and no refund! I placed an order nearly a month ago. I never received the items and they still won't issue a refund! Trying to support local business during this tough time but the customer service has made this experience so impossible!! There's no accountability from Baker's Authority. I've called and emailed several times. They keep telling me they need to file a claim but after 3 weeks it still hasn't happened! Would love to be able to talk to someone who could actually help, but of course that's against policy! Wish I would have read the other reviews before I ordered. Never again!! read more

We ordered a case of active dry yeast from this company. They charged us for a full case but only sent a single pack (1 of 12). They REFUSED to refund the money for the remaining items, even after repeated requests and a dispute was filed with Paypal. Then the single item they did manage to send was dead and did not work, anyway. This company is engaging in fraudulent transactions and will take payment for items they don't have and will not send. read more

This company is the worst. Poor customer service. Few weeks ago I placed an order and I was sent a bag of flour without a label and another one without expiration date. Emailed customer service and Kathy Chavez replied back to send pictures of what I received and I did...no one hasn't contacted me yet after I sent the pictures. Beware. Whatever you do, do not order from this company. I ordered the brown rice syrup in the 5 gallon pail and received it half spilled in the box, oozing out of the seams. I didn't think much of it as it could've been UPS's fault so I gave them a call to have it reshipped. Sandra told me she would need to file a claim and once they won the claim they would reship my item. I told her I couldn't wait as I needed it ASAP, and it wasn't my fault it came that way. She told me fine and rushed me off the phone. She asked for picture documentation of which I sent right away. 2 weeks later I didn't receive anything. I called to find out the status and Karen picked up the phone (Mind you these girls are absolutely miserable, mumbling into the phone with short answers like "huh? Ya? Don't know". When I explained to her what happened she said okay I'll ship it out, I said wait Sandra told me she'd ship it out 2 weeks ago. This is when Karen got bold and loud and said WELL IM IN CHARGE, NOT SANDRA AND IT SHIPS WHEN I SAY. And then of course she hung up on me. I called back, and she picked up yelling. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she said no one was there and she was in charge (solid power trip, it reminded me of when a parent puts a kid in charge for a few minutes while they head to the bathroom). Of course, like all cowards, she hung up on me again and I called at least 5 times after that and she would pick up and hang up without saying a word. 2 weeks after that incident I received and email from Sandra asking if I still wanted my order shipped? Seriously? What is going on with the company and does the owner have any idea what awful representation they have? They're running their business straight to the ground. I then spoke to Zomi the "supervisor" and she said Karen didn't want to talk to me anymore hence why she didn't send my package. She also said it's policy that they need to win the claim with UPS prior to reshipping the package. So let's get this straight, if you place an order with this company and something arrives damaged or spilling they hold on to your money until they win the claim with UPS. If they do not win the case they will dispute it until they do. It has been 6 weeks since the order has been placed and they have still not shipped it out the replacement. They're definitely crooks and have absolutely no integrity, professionalism or standards. We will be reaching out to all of the frustrated customers who have left awful reviews to see how this company has scammed and we will be pursuing legal action. The molehill could've been resolved amicably with some common sense and Integrity. Instead, the molehill is becoming a mountain. read more

Honestly only leaving a review because I see so many negative ones and I don't think it's right that people only review when things go wrong. My order of flour came timely with no issues to report. Reasonable price, decent shipping time (given the situation, it's actually great), and I love the product I purchased- King Arthur flour. Terrible! Buyer beware! Tons of problems including shipping, shipping of wrong materials, horrible customer service. I got bran instead of regular muffin mix, and they substituted with their own cruddy label, so it isn't even the good stuff! They did this without my permission. I got the wrong sugar. Some stuff took weeks to get. It took numerous emails with customer service who are not helpful; in fact customer "service" is accusatory like I've done something wrong as the customer. It's a good website to get quality products. During COVID, it was hard to get ahold of products like bread flour and this was my go to spot during that time. Only thing keeping me from giving this website a 5 star or even a 4 star rating is due to the ridiculous price that is charged for shipping. Where I live, shipping from their store is $17.90. I would be spending between $55-$70 possibly even more just to buy a product from them. I remember even when I bought from them before, that was my issue with them. It's still an issue now and what makes it another problem which I guess you can consider this another flaw is that they do not accept food stamps which makes this a struggle for people who are low income. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which my order was filled. I ordered on Saturday and my 3 x 5lbs bags of flour arrived on Tuesday. I was previously looking at the supermarkets and at the bloated prices on Amazon. Baker's Authority seemed like a great alternative and they delivered. All flour came in nice resealable bags that were also individually bagged in clear plastic with a knot. Nothing spilled, the one silver bag's seal was opened a bit but since the bag was folded over for shipping nothing spilled out. The silver bags made it easy to wipe down upon arrival giving a little extra peace of mind. I weighed the bags and everything was 5+LB, don't know the weight of the bags themselves but there was plenty of extra weight on the scale to compensate. Will definitely order again, thank you. read more

WORST EVER. DO NOT buy from them. A whole bag of flour was SPILLED ALL OVER as they did not wrap the bag well. I paid much for the shipping and it's worth much than you just put the plastic bag flour in the paper box - don't try to defend yourself with your carriere - I called them and they said with this distance and weight, they are charging less than what we paid. And, this flour comapny did not get back to me until 6 days after I emailed them about the issue : I sent them 7 pictures about the spill-overs and the whole mess, they were still asking me to keep the spilled flour and package, and wait until the carrier came to check. Bommm, thet just disappearred! Never get back to me anymore. Are these people in this company just ignorant and don't care about their customer loyalty? OK, then GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR ONE-TIME PURCHASER! Baker's authority, do not reply to this comment if you still try to defend yourself with the carrier. read more

Terrible customer service. I paid overnight shipping for a product ordered on a Wednesday, it arrived a week later. Customer service told me to read the fine print that the refrigerated items only ship on monday. How about block the "overnight" $55 charge function and stop screwing over your customers. The website is misleading and that should not fall on the customers. Not even a store credit nor refund when I wrote repeatedly my confusion and dissatisfaction with the charge. Overnight means overnight or disable that function. REYLAH HABIB in service had to be right, so now they have one less customer. Well done. read more

Horrid customer service - no telephone, no online chat, only email!!! They are using the COVID situation to shield themselves from having to provide service. I ordered from them some yeast which is hard to near impossible to find right now due to COVID. I tried to cancel the order within 24 hours via email (since there was no other way to contact them). I was told this bunch of malarkey: "Unfortunately, your order was already printed and sent down to the warehouse to be packed and shipped. Due to the high volume of orders coming in now due to the coronavirus, we are unable to locate a specific label to not ship it. What can be done is you can reject the package once you receive it and when it comes back, we will refund everything except the shipping cost (both ways) and a 6% restocking fee. Stay safe! Best Regards,..." Okay, so now I've decided to keep the yeast. But the package arrived in bad shape due to using a simple plastic bag and not a box. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! I would never place an order with this company again and strongly suggest that you don't either. I ordered 30 pounds of cream cheese and it came lukewarm in a box that was ripped in half. When I asked for a refund, I was told they would check to see about making a claim with UPS. When I told them, this was not UPS's fault they then told me it was my fault for not selecting overnight shipping. baker's authority has the worst customer service i have ever experience!! i order chocolate buttercream and received a damage buttercream! which they say it still usable?? really? the buttercream was spill inside the box! to make things worse they sent me almost expired buttercream!! i received the buttercream on 10-23-19 and needed it by saturday 10-16-19. i told them to send me a new buttercream with a much later expiration date and they said it will take 7-10 business days for them to hear from fed-ex and once they get a refund they will send a new buttercream. which i understand all that. however it doesn't solved my problem about needing a buttercream for my wedding cake and being left with almost expired product. i spoke to kathy, mario and another lady who refuse to give me her name than she was trying to hangup on me saying she had to go. " where is the customer service in all this??" a good company will say "use the one you have for your wedding cake and we will send a new buttercream with a much later expiration date. we apologize for any inconvenience! Two weeks ago, I placed an order with Bakers Authority for some flour and yeast. They said they were in stock, but to expect some delays due to coronavirus. I understand these are difficult times, but after two weeks I had not heard anything back and whenever I checked the order status it showed it hadn't been shipped, and there was no indication that it had even been processed. I ended up placing an order for flour with a different company (who were super responsive and shipped the package out the following day!), and so I wanted to cancel my order with Bakers Authority and have it refunded. I emailed Bakers Authority and requested that they cancel my order, but they refused to do so. I was told that my order was already in the warehouse and although it hadn't been shipped my only option was to reject the package when I eventually receive it (and cover the cost of shipping for both directions). I understand flour is hard to find right now, and that there is huge demand. But I feel it is dishonest for a business to say they are in stock with a product, and continue to accept orders, when they cannot keep up with demand. A reasonable person who places an order would not expect it to take 2+ weeks for it to even leave the warehouse. As I am writing this my order status still says it hasn't been shipped. I recommend anyone else trying to buy flour right now look elsewhere. read more

Not dry ice as needed on any perishable food product like butter, No return calls a day after order or any kind of notification other than the evening by automatic mail thanking me for my order nothing else...the last I heard anything was 5days later at night when my neighbor knocked on my door to show me the package that was sent crushed and with a foul smell.I opened it to find not my ordered item but another brand they sent crushed with water all in it. The box was to big it was in ,the tape looked as it was retaped with a tire tread mark on it or was pushed accross the warehouse to get pushed into a wall... the butter date had been expired ...Nothing to secure my package or to keep the temperature as dry ice would have..contacted balers authority, and fed ex to find the company shipping uses their no return policy which allows fed ex shipping paid. I'd begun using bakers authority in March 2020 because they were the only ones with flour in stock. They seemed fine with low prices. After a while I got my first damaged package. I took some pictures and sent in a complaint just because the flour was unusable. I sent three pictures that clearly showed a bag of flour that had been busted open, and a big hole in the plastic bag that sealed the flour bag. BUYER BEWARE: should you experience a damaged delivery it is essential to take pictures of every detail of the delivery otherwise they won't even entertain your complaint. I was burnt because I'd take a few picture but already thrown away the damaged box and taken the bag of flour out to examine the damages. Here's what they require 1. A photo of the damaged item 2. A photo showing the damaged merchandise, inside the original box, with all of the original cushioning (picture should show the placement of the merchandise and packaging inside the box) 3. A photo of the packaging material used inside the box (e.g. bubble wrap, Styrofoam peanuts, cardboard dividers, etc.) 4. A close-up photo of the shipping label with tracking number (please zoom in enough to read the tracking number, which usually begins with 1Z) 5. A close-up photo of the box manufacturer's certificate (BMC), if available (The BMC is a round stamp that details either the bursting strength of the box or the edge crush rating of the box.) (The BMC is generally found on a bottom flap on the outside of a corrugated cardboard box.) 6. Two photos displaying all six sides of the package (One photo should display the top and two sides. The second photo should display the bottom and the opposite sides.) 7. Dimensions of the box, including the package height, length, and width While these aren't necessarily unreasonable, it's clear that they put no faith in their customers. If you receive damaged goods and you provide proof of the damage, there should be recompense. Instead they treated me like a liar even though i sent pictures. They seem like a good company, but their damaged delivery policies make it too difficult to file a complaint. With such high shipping prices, there should be some level of security in the product. read more
