Came today 5/26/24 at 10.36am to bought a case of Tyson Cornish chicken.. after paying, when we proceed to exit at the receipt checking area, we was stop and bring to another area.. the manager "OSCAR" accuse we took extra chicken from another case to our case( which is totally an unopen case).. we said we didn't took it.. he weight the case, it is 40lb... I said, I don't know how many pound it is.. but I can open and you can count there is 24pcs.. he said, how you know there is 24pcs.. I said the case itself wrote 24 single head and I bought it for many years already...he said miss,in English 24 single head doesn't mean 24pcs.. can anyone explain to me what 24 single head mean... And we said, if you want you can get a new case if you doesn't trust us... and guest what he say.. YOU HAVE TO GET IT YOURSELF...IM NOT HELPING YOU... great customer service... we go and get a new case, end up, it is 40lb... guest what he said, he say who told you we sell by case... I said I went to a lot of restaurant depot, it all sell by case... AND THE PROFESSIONAL MANAGER SAID, OTHER RESTAURANT DEPOT SELL BY CASE BECAUSE THEY ARE IDIOT...Great explanation given... The point is, you can scan the item by case but you are telling me you are not selling it by case... I asked the manager OSCAR, the only explanation given is we are not selling by case... great job..! Now the case is, as you can see at the picture, the chicken is label 1.5lb each.so, 1.5lb multiply by 24 single head equals to 36lb.... You can see my receipt, it is tysn Cornish 36lb.. I don't know it's because of the fluid on the frozen chicken, the box and so on, that's why 40lb.The amount in our case is 24pcs of Cornish chicken... so there's nothing wrong with it...a close look to the packaging, it wrote it contain less than 4% retained water... I believe here is why it is 40lb.. Even your own website, do sell by case and the price is $107... we need an explanation.. We end up making a refund, since they are not letting us bring the whole case back... NO REFUND RECEIPT IS ISSUED...Didn't ask my card or whatever... when I ask the manager for refund receipt, he just said, we did already... bye...YOU BETTER GIVE ME A REFUND, IF I DIDNT, IM GONNA MESS AROUND WITH YOU... I will never be back to this store. I never seen a manager to be so unprofessional... even used the word idiot to describe your own franchise... no customer service at all... no knowledge on the item sell at their own store... I hope, the owner could do something with this... who knows in the future, we bought a case of shrimp that is full of iced, and being accused as stealing extra shrimp from other packing... we will all be the victim easily with this no knowledge manager... restaurant depot should be more professional in training their staff especially when it come to manager... Manager is the most important person to deal with the customer.. with this manager attitude and knowledge, your business will definitely go downhill.. no doubt.. read more

This is the place where all street food vendors who deal in cash only buy their supplies with their cash...Hello NYS Department of Treasury!!!! My mother always told me not to eat NYC street food because the food vendors pee on the street or in a jar and never wash their hands. She was 100% correct. However, a lot of street vendors use the bathroom at Restaurant Depot and to be honest... it is a pig sty. In fact pig's are more neat... or is it neatter? The parking lot at RD is pretty bad. Well, the pigeons and gulls like it cause the RD customers unpack their goods before loading them into the car, discarding the boxes and all other garbage onto the parking lot ground. Seriously who the blah blah are these people? Who taught them manners? RD is basically a large warehouse under the Kosciuszko Bridge specializing in restaurant equipment, and general food and beverage. It's one-stop shop, cheap, but quite the ordeal. There is no service. And even if you are able to snatch a worker for a question, said worker has no answer. Literally no answer. Security at the check out is top notch though. You pay for what you bought and then before exiting... a guard double checks everything...matching your receipt to what is in your cart. Again, it is cheap but quite the ordeal. I love the industrial neighborhood though. Warehouse after warehouse, railroad tracks and Newtown Creek (one of the most polluted waterways in the USA). Old beat up RVs line up along some of the side streets, seeming to house some folks. There is a nice clean 100% unoccupied skate park bordering the BQE. The skate park has really nicely tiled bathrooms. Locked, as is the nice clean skate park. There is also a beautiful bike / walk way leading to the west bound Kosciuszko Bridge so people can bike or jog along the bumper to bumper 24 hour a day 18 wheeler truck and car traffic. The entrance gate was locked last time I drove by. And then there is the cemetery. Large and seemingly fully occupied...with fat Raccoons patrolling along the iron fence. The place really deserves no stars. read more

Where else can one score a whole case of drinks at 50 cents per unit? $4 for a 40lb sack of ice? Only at Restaurant Depot. Chances are if you work for a small business or non-profit, you're already aware of what is essentially Costco for small businesses. The only difference is this Costco doesn't charge taxes and the prices for wholesale goods are out of this world. Not everyone is able to shop here, like Costco / BJs / Sam's, membership is required. Potential customers need to supply a proof of business / non-profit certificate before being granted a membership card. If things couldn't get any better, membership is actually free. Non-biz owners are able to shop here as well, but not without being subject to a $20 fee at check out. This RD is located just beyond the train tracks in good ol desolate Maspeth. Anyone considering to make the trek without a car would just plain be silly. There are no buses that come out here and everything would be too heavy not to load into a car. Speaking of loading, get a load of the "shopping carts," which are more akin to a rolling dolly for luggage like at a hotel. Despite being overly gritty, they work just fine. Crowds of business owners are crawling all over the place. It is like a giant warehouse full of underpriced goods, but it can get a little crazy here during the weekends when everyone is filling their carts up with 100 Ibs of ::insert:: Service isn't going to be the best, but if you find them at a right time, they're pretty good about helping folks locate stuff which isn't always that easy. Be sure to read the aisles before aimlessly wandering. While this sounds like common sense, many first time folks don't take the time to read before crowding up the lanes looking for tupperware and plastic cups, for example. It's not all just accessories, they also sell quite a bit of produce, frozen items, and food in bulk. The prices are just right, the goods are always available, I know if I were to be a small biz owner looking to supply my establishment (or ones on wheels - hehe), I'd be here all the time. read more

Have a hot dog craving; you have a dozen choices. Yay..... Now the bad news, you have to be a member. A member that is associated with the restaurant or food industry. Restaurant Depot is a wholesale business that caters to bodegas, restaurants, carts, etc. Restaurant Depot has a huge selection of everything. Looking for meats. You found the right place. Pork, beef, chicken, lamb, etc. They sell their items by the case and by the piece. Case pricing 10% or so lower than by item piece. Christmas Dinner was lamb and at $4.29/lb for a boneless piece, it was not only cheap, but the halal lamb was delicious. Imagine going to your local supermarket or butcher and paying $24 for a 5+ pound boneless halal lamb. Never. The meat, produce, fish departments are huge. Product fresh, firm with bright colors. Lots of options with competitive pricing. Plenty of dry storage items, but remember by the case and number 10 cans. They also have restaurant and kitchen supplies. Overall, this store is awesome with so many deals. This is not a Costco or BJ's. This is a commercial buying store for the food business. Prices are great with many weekly specials. This location is horrible the managers are rude and disrespectful. The way they speak to their customers and employees leaves me at a lost for words. Many people are closing their accounts with them. I have heard Rosa and Kenneth curse at people wether it be a customer or especially an employee. Very unacceptable. They will tell you to tell them what did you buy ( not in the recive) but in your car . I don't need to have your cashier catching attitude with me, throwing and crushing my stuff when I did not do anything wrong or even said a thing to her besides "hi". Don't be fooled, they claimed that they are wholesaler to restaurateurs, but it's never true. The cooking oil they sell is more expensive than the ones we can get at Shoprite, Stop and Shop or Keyfood. Many times their meat prices and produce prices are higher than the supermarket. Certain meat can easily be a dollar a pound higher. You have to buy in bulk too. It's not worth it. Check your local supermarkets listings for savings. read more

Since there is no better alternative it gets 5 stars. The forklift drivers inside will kill someone eventually. No me of them speak English nor care if there is a person in front of them. I have had two really close calls. I am super careful now. The selection of products is decent but could be better. The prices are generally competitive with some items being the lowest price here others elsewhere, you must check and play the price check game as with all places. Al the register floor manager is great. Brian the boss of the place is professional, approachable, and easy to deal with. Cynthia, with the red hair and pink office is the best person there. She is excellent. The seafood department boss Leroy is the most rude and inattentive person in a supervisory position I have ever come accross. Several occasions he will lie about being out of stock on items to make you go away. When you go to the front and have them check the computer and he is radioed he takes his sweet time. Then when he is told to get the product he said he "checked" 15 minutes earlier and was 100% out of, he takes 30 minutes to bring it to the front. Apparently he must have tenure or something because the entire staff at restaurant depot is well aware that he does that. Their produce quality used to be better. read more

I've been to many restaurant depot, I find this one to be well organized. The non food on one side of the building and the food on the other side. Staff is helpful. My only complaint would be that the cashier line can sometimes get really backed up. They either have to have their workers working faster or open up more lanes. read more

I do know who's managing this store but let me tell you something, you know what you are doing! please please please keep it up. As soon as I walk in to the store, so peaceful, so organized(I think the managers got OCD :) that's how much they are so organized and everything is always on stock. I drive down here from Brooklyn(Sunset park)to avoid Jetro at Hamilton Ave Brooklyn. That's how much I HATE that place. It's a jungle. Don't you dare to go there unless its emergency. I don't mind to drive extra 30mins to get here. Dear Hamilton Ave Jetro customers, if you are sick and tire of waiting for an hour at cashier as usual, fighting for parking spots, shitty ass carts, rude staffs and out of stock most of time, please come down here, you will know what I'm talking about.
