While my fiancé's name is on the contract, my name is only name on the property, mortgage, and checking account used to pay for the project. I was also present throughout the process and directly involved in decisions and communications. My review was never intended to dispute what was written in the contract. My concern is that some important items were not clearly discussed during the estimate process. Specifically, we were told that the sprinkler system "wouldn't be a problem," yet later learned that relocation of sprinklers was our responsibility. My hope is simply that future customers are made aware of this requirement upfront so they can plan accordingly. Regarding the sprinkler repairs, I was present when the third pipe was repaired after dark. While I understand your records may reflect otherwise, no assistance was provided at that time in the dark. Likewise, we did verbally request cancellation by phone and were told that we wouldn't receiver or non refundable 50% deposit back, though we were offered the alternative of proceeding with a shorter fence. Another concern was access to the yard. I understand construction requires equipment, but we were never informed that a truck and trailer would be driven through our yard. In my opinion, customers should be given advance notice and asked for permission when heavy equipment will be used in areas outside the fence line, especially when there are alternative methods available. As for the April 1 quality-control visit, no one was home, so concerns such as rough cuts, missing nails, and rust on portions of the fence were not discussed. These are issues that should have been seen by your employe doing their quality check. Those issues are relatively minor and not worth reopening the project over, which is why they were never submitted as a formal warranty request. My review was never about debating contracts or BBB procedures. It was simply to share our experience and encourage greater transparency during estimates, better communication regarding equipment access, and more attention to detail during installation. We own other properties that will require fencing in the future, and had this experience been handled with more care and communication, I would have gladly chosen Major League Fence again. I genuinely hope these comments are taken as constructive feedback to help improve future customer experiences.

A couple of weeks back we hired Mobile Bay Handyman to come look at our disposal. During the…read morevisit, it was determined it was completely dead and needed to be replaced. The job was completed quickly and professionally. The garbage disposal works and we happily paid the bill. The first time we ran our dishwasher after this, it leaked everywhere. We called Mobile Bay Handyman back, told the person who answered the phone what the problem was and that a tech was here recently. They sent a field tech the same day. The tech diagnosed the issue immediately. When Mobile Bay Handyman installed the garbage disposal, the tech who did that did not remove a "plug" that allows water to flow from the dishwasher...thus causing the leak and water everywhere. We received a bill, but wanted to discuss it with them as it was there fault for not removing the plug during the installation. The person we spoke to did not agree with our assessment. He basically feels that if a surgeon were to cut you open to repair an artery for example and you bleed out as a result that this is not the surgeons fault. I offered to pay the "service fee" but felt that Mobile Bay Handyman should absorb the rest of the cost because, again, it was there fault for not doing all the steps at installation. My advice is to be careful and ask all the right questions (do your own research on potential problems) and make sure everything is done correctly.

He took the time to walk me through the issues, explaining everything very clearly, walking around my house and showing if I had a foundational problem how it would show inside and outside my house. He answered all of my questions very professionally and knowledgeably. He also confirmed that I did not have a foundation problem. Unlike AFS Foundations, who used scare tactics, high pressure sales techniques, and "must sign today to get our company's 10% discount", or "Why do you have to think about this?" Before the work began, we were told there was only minor mold present and that remediation wasn't necessary because the encapsulation would take care of it. We relied on that professional guidance when making our decision. After the work was completed, we discovered extensive mold growth beneath our home--so severe that it required more than $7,000 in professional remediation. Beyond the financial hit, this raised serious concerns about our family's health due to prolonged exposure. After I left my initial review, Ray, the general manager, reached out. I hoped this meant AFS was willing to work toward a fair resolution. Instead, he maintained that because they believed nothing was wrong with the installation, the company bore no responsibility for what happened. Although we were invited to share what would make things right, no solution or support was ever offered. What made the situation even more frustrating was that Ray never offered to have anyone inspect the encapsulation or verify the quality of the work. Instead, he questioned the credibility of the independent mold remediation company we hired and repeatedly emphasized that AFS is the "number one encapsulation company in the United States." The conversation felt less about addressing our concerns and more about defending the company's reputation. We asked AFS to help cover the cost of remediation because we had followed their recommendations and were left with a significant and unexpected expense. Even if they disagreed with our request, we expected some effort to investigate the issue or meet us halfway. Instead, they declined entirely and showed no interest in evaluating their own work. Most concerning was the lack of urgency or care regarding the condition of our crawlspace and the potential health risks to our family.
