When Mr Sackos responded to my inquiry, the first thing he did was try to dissuade me from pursuing the property I had in mind..... not an especially negative thing for me since, if the property has serious problems, I'd want to know about them. Problems may or may not be deal breakers for my situation but problems almost always indicate a property that's over priced.... and since I am looking for a bargain, I want to hear all about problems. However.... No further information was offered. In fact, Mr Sackos never responded to any of my follow-up inquiries thereafter. In his first communication, Mr Sackos said, "I can certainly provide you with references, but I will tell you we are the hardest working and best Brokers you will find. .You came to me via a referral service and I am pleased to offer our service to you. Not trying to be arrogant, but you landed with the best. " My reaction to all of that is, talk is cheap. Going permanently MIA after I ask a few simple, obvious questions about a property is NOT the hallmark of "the best" or of "the hardest working brokers I'll find". Buyers, and probably sellers, can do a lot better than this agency, at least based on my experience with them..

We recently sold a property where Mitch from The Grove Team served as the buyer's agent. We had…read morealready spent about a year and a half working privately with the buyers--long before Mitch got involved--and were even under contract with them previously. The buyers eventually decided to bring in a local agent for the paperwork, but the price and terms were already established. Unfortunately, Mitch brought in a lot of unnecessary drama that slowed everything down and created confusion. He then publicly claimed he'd saved the buyers a substantial amount of money, which simply isn't true--he was just formalizing the deal we had already arranged. We believe his actions were misleading, and based on our experience, we do not recommend working with The Grove Team.

My daughter rented a tiny shack from these people for 2 years for $575/month, no utilities…read moreincluded. Every time she needed something fixed, it was a major hassle to get any assistance. These fixes included a smoke detector (3 months), frozen pipes(after 5 days my dad was able to fix), gas furnace leak, non-working & sparking plug ins (over a year), and an oven light & element(never fixed). Praise the Lord, my daughter was recently blessed with a rental from a private owner, but the Grove team is now renting this abysmal property to a woman for $700/month. April even called my daughter this morning to complain that she couldn't open the latch my daughter had put on the gate of the rental(the latch the Grove team had there didn't work). April threatened that if my daughter didn't come down immediately & open the gate, they would call a handyman to remove it & take the $ out of her deposit (as if they ever return deposits anyway). This is typical behavior from these "real estate" companies toward renters. I pray that more home owners will take back the rental market & create opportunities for struggling people to be treated with dignity instead of being treated like trash by these wicked slum lords. I know there are plenty of bad renters out there, but there are plenty of good renters too. Hopefully people who have secondary properties will step up & open up opportunities for people who need affordable & safe rentals.

We loved…read morethe general layout of the area, but the plants were overgrown, difficult to maintain, and the space was not functional for the front yard socializing that makes our neighborhood special. Response time was prompt and the pricing was competitive and totally reasonable. Michael listened to everything we wanted, gave great advice, came up with some excellent ideas we would not have considered, and did excellent work. Everyone on the crew was lovely to work with. I was really pleased with how my favorites of my existing plants were able to be preserved or relocated and with how the new plantings, ground coverings, and stone features combined to form a beautiful, sustainable yard that I know we will enjoy for years to come. They had the lowest bid and started right away. Usually, I am wary of going for the lowest bid but their write up on the quote was very detailed and explicit on the work being done so I felt like we were on the same page. Great work and I will be using them again for the next job.
