I contacted a realty referral service about a property I was interested in purchasing. They…read morereferred me to Greg Sackos of Intermountain Realty. When Mr Sackos responded to my inquiry, the first thing he did was try to dissuade me from pursuing the property I had in mind..... not an especially negative thing for me since, if the property has serious problems, I'd want to know about them. Problems may or may not be deal breakers for my situation but problems almost always indicate a property that's over priced.... and since I am looking for a bargain, I want to hear all about problems. However.... No further information was offered. In fact, Mr Sackos never responded to any of my follow-up inquiries thereafter. In his first communication, Mr Sackos said, "I can certainly provide you with references, but I will tell you we are the hardest working and best Brokers you will find. .You came to me via a referral service and I am pleased to offer our service to you. Not trying to be arrogant, but you landed with the best. " My reaction to all of that is, talk is cheap. Going permanently MIA after I ask a few simple, obvious questions about a property is NOT the hallmark of "the best" or of "the hardest working brokers I'll find". Buyers, and probably sellers, can do a lot better than this agency, at least based on my experience with them..

Contacted Cindy, a broker at Baker City Realty to inquire about a property I saw for sale. After a…read morecouple of "get acquainted" e-mails, I asked several specific questions about the property. Never heard anything back and Cindy went permanently MIA. Obviously, being unresponsive in not a quality that most home buyers seek in real estate agents. I don't know if Ms Hunter's performance is indicative of Baker City Realty's operation but my experience with them was clearly unfulfilling. Her response after reading my review: You come across in your communications negatively. I do not know if that has influenced how others see you or not. I mention it only because It would work against you with many good realtors who don't want to work with someone who will run them ragged and never be satisfied. FS: Interesting attitude from someone who's business is to sell things on commission. Note to prospective clients..... don't be "a bad customer" if you want to engage Cindy in a sale that will earn her ~ $10,000 in commission.....
