When I first began working under Dr. Allison Rodgers' exceptional care at Fertility Centers of…read moreIllinois in May 2019, she suggested that I compliment my treatment by seeing an acupuncturist in Wheaton. She said, "I don't know what he does but it works. What do you have to lose?" That acupuncturist was Peter Harvey at Eastern Healing. Fast forward to September 2020, after multiple canceled FETs due to poor response and thin lining issues, Peter suggested to Dr. Rodgers that we try a natural, unmedicated cycle with herbs. Dr. Rodgers agreed. What did we have to lose? It was worth a shot. During my three year IVF journey, I prepped for several FETs (8 of which were canceled due poor results) and the one that actually worked was because of Peter's dedicated collaboration with Dr. Rodgers. The natural cycle coupled with herbs resulted in the thickest and best looking my uterine lining ever got over the three years. Because of this, I was able to proceed with my FET. Many thanks to Peter for being my advocate, for trying different approaches, never giving up and helping my husband and me realize our dreams of becoming parents. Our sweet boy was born earlier this year. We are eternally grateful.

NOTE: Please note that dates for positive reviews are from years past!…read more Just stay away. I would give zero stars if I could. If Peter ever was compassionate, that was before his current burnout. I contacted Peter to begin acupuncture during my third IVF cycle (for male factor). I ignored a few red flags during my early appointments and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I understood he wanted me to give him four months to work with me before my next cycle. However, after consulting two of the top REs in both Chicago and NY (Dr. Catenacci at AFCC Chicago and Dr. Irani at Cornell NY) I made the decision that I would move forward with a cycle in November. While I understood he would be disappointed, I expected him to be professional. I took the time to explain to Peter that in addition to the expert medical opinions I received encouraging me to move forward in November, there were a number of other factors (both personal and financial) that made this timing right for me. Instead, Peter became extremely enraged and aggressive. He informed me that if I moved forward with an IVF cycle in November, I would be unlikely to become pregnant. And accordingly to Peter, if I did, it would not result in a live birth. Then, he went on to share with me the story of a 43 y/o IVF patient of his he saw that day. He shared that he encouraged her to take time off before her next cycle, but she did not (as if 43 y/os have a ton of time..). She then became pregnant with twins. He said he then did not see her for 6 weeks. She then lost the twins at 10 weeks. He blamed her loss on her not keeping up with acupuncture. My reason for seeking acupuncture is in large part stress reduction. I don't need an acupuncturist scaring me to death. While I expect an opinion and advice, he was not professional or compassionate. I will be looking elsewhere.

I visited my doctor in early December when I became so uncomfortable because of the pain. I could not push open a heavy door or lift anything even just somewhat heavy. I couldn't reach behind me and the pain woke me as I slept. My doctor recommended PT and I met with a therapist in January, where I was given several exercises and directions to attempt to ease my pain. I found some relief but not enough. I was still taking Tylenol and Aleve in an effort to function and to sleep. In May, a gentleman where I volunteered told me acupuncture helped him greatly. Still skeptical , I mentioned this to a relative and she encouraged me to give it a try since her husband went to Frank Grill and found this treatment to be remarkably helpful. So I went , less than enthusiastically, but I found both Angela and Frank Grill, two very kind people, assured me that this could indeed work. The "happy ending" is this. After only two treatments, I was off the pain medication. After my next treatment , I found myself able to lift items up to 5 pounds but , most of all, I can sleep without pain. I am no longer that skeptic. One of my best decisions ever. (Oh, and the needle part? I hardly knew he was "poking at me" )

I saw three neurologists, a pain management specialist, had Radio-frequency ablation which only made it worse, tried different types of pain medication and went to a physical therapist. Nothing worked. I was at my wits end. A friend recommended Frank. After 2 treatments I started feeling better. After 4 more I no longer had any pain! I was pain free for 13 months and felt wonderful... Early this fall the headaches returned. I had other health issues that may have caused the headaches to return. I visited Frank again and Voila! After 5 treatments the headaches are gone! I have to say, "It's amazing!" I highly recommend Frank. He's kind, considerate, down to earth and is wonderful about explaining the how's and why's of the practice of acupuncture. I plan to set up a maintenance program with him. When you enter the office you are greeted by Angela. She is warm, friendly and I consider her to be my friend. She has a great sense of humor and makes you feel at home!

I have been desperate to find a practitioner that could treat me holistically without the use of drugs and use alternative therapies for the mind, body and soul. I was drawn to HHCC exactly for all the above. Kim at HHCC offers herbology and healing touch which was exactly what I was seeking . After much research on my own, the use of herbs, healing touch in addition to acupuncture can increase the odds of a successful pregnancy. It was meant to be! Healing touch has brought me so much inner peace and well being during such a stressful and emotional time in my life. I highly recommend Kim at HHCC ! I am due July 2014

I cannot say anything negative about her chiropractic care. Why the 1star review then? Per their policy, I prepaid packages for several weeks ahead. $600 chunks. For the whole of her time with them, I paid this prior to her ever being seen. After several months, the office informed me that they were moving to Wheaton after I'd just prepaid another $600 chunk. (I'm on a tight schedule and haven't the time to treck clear to Wheaton twice a week.) I informed them via email that I would not be continuing with them due to the office relocation. We emailed back and forth about how we had not used up the most recent $600 prepaid monies and that they would now need to refund some of it. The office manager agreed and refunded the money. I still have all of those email. TWO YEARS LATER (just recently) they sent me an itemized bill for $500!!!! Oh, yes. They did. Two YRS later. How can I owe $500 when I prepaid every visit for weeks ahead and still have the email stating that they owed me money and that they'd refund? To send me a bill after two years have passed... it's one of two options. 1) They made an honest mistake, should not have sent us the bill, and we do not owe them money. 2) It's dishonest and fraudulent billing. Either way, I wouldn't recommend them to any of my friends. If you do use them, you certainly will want to keep all of your paperwork and record of communication, as their clerical skills are obviously lacking. You might also keep a contracts attorney on retainer. Or marry one as I did.
