I'm taking off some stars for the hasty and curt behavior of one associate. Perhaps he did not like my tee statement but if it was the worst he'd seen he clearly hasn't worked there long. My tee text read: I'm rooting for everybody black. -Issa Rae (a quote from the Emmys) He even misspelled her name but glanced hastily at the paper as if I wrote it wrong when I pointed out this mistake!! I had the graphic I wanted on my phone but not once did he look at it. I wanted my tee from them to mirror one I sell online. I've been going to Baked T's for probably 7 years now and haven't ever felt rushed or that someone did not want to work with me. I waited quietly and patiently for 30 minutes only to have him ignore my requests and rush me out of the seat within 5. If I return, I'll give up my turn and allow the next patron to work with him rather than sit through the agony of poor customer service again. I love this place! What a hoot and a holler. They have some great T's and they'll help you design your own as well. After freaking out about creating part of my Halloween costume, I called STLStyle for help. They couldn't do what I needed, but they knew who could and referred me to Baked T's. How cool is that? One local biz helping and referring biz to another. When we arrived at Baked T's, I was surprised how small and compact the store was. The staff quickly showed us how they turn out a big powerful product within a small space. They promptly greeted us as we entered and asked what they could do. I jokingly replied, "I need a Tshirt. Are you surprised?". When I explained what I needed, the designer quickly sat at the computer with me and started showing me clip art. In less then 10 minuets, we had designed a focal part of my costume. Wow! They helped me create a cool custom Tshirt for less then all the craft stuff I bought earlier in the day. They saved me time and money. (It took about another 20 minuets to press and finalize my Tshirt.) The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. As I was creating my shirt, the SO was chatting up other employees and sharing cartoons and pictures on his iPhone. Before I knew it, they were downloading his favorite cartoon off his phone and making him a Tshirt too. So many ideas have gone through our pretty little creative heads, that our friends and family should be scared. I see Baked T's being a destination store for gift shopping. This place is great! A friend of mine loves unique t-shirts so I stopped in when I was in the loop to pick one up. It's a tiny little shop but the girl at the counter helped me pick out the right color, size, and fit, and luckily one of the 'artists' were open! (Artist: see 'guys who press images onto t-shirts.') I do give them a lot of credit though because a lot of graphic design does go into what they do! The guy I worked with was great and super laid back, which is a good and bad thing. I was in a bit of a hurry and he moved pretty slow, but since I was a walk-in, I didn't expect a lot more. He found the image I wanted and helped me pick out a font and color, and also put my friends initials on the bottom of the back of the shirt. It looked great! He put it through the Magic T-Shirt O-Matic* and out it came, all ready to go. In less than 20 minutes! There was another customer in there at the same time as me who was loud and disagreeable, so when my artist took me to the register he told the cashier to give me 10% off. So sweet of him and definitely not necessary. I love that they also sell brownies, gooey butter cake and cookies - so very random and cute. I didn't buy any for fear that they were also 'baked,' but they sure looked delicious! For $21 for an awesome STL themed t-shirt, you can't beat it. Wanted the Delmar Loop shirt. Didn't see it during the Ice Carnival, and I felt a bit sad. So while walking around today, I found this store. They make custom shirts, and St. Louis butter cakes. This is a very small store. But they sell the cool Delmar Loop t-shirt, with the stores names on the back, like in the picture. While I was in there, some customers were selecting custom shirts. There are 2 areas to try on the shirts, one is a curtain that is red and white, and the other is the bathroom. I chose the curtain. The store makes any custom T you want, and they have a few to sell, and as examples. They have male, female, kids and dog shirts. Space is well utilized, with a computer in the middle of the store for designing your own tshirt. Often I find stores like this don't have any try on areas. The store is red, white and black, and my shopping bag has red and black tissue, with a red bow. While there, I grabbed a Delmar Loop map, cause I'll be back to St. Louis. TERRIBLE! Costumer service is nonexistent and the wait times are endless. Wasted an hour of my life and left with no T-shirts. I would recommend passing on this place. I walked in and told a T-shirt maker (who I learned was actually the manager) that I had my own picture and my own T-shirts that I brought in. His response was "easy" and told me to sign in (little did I know). I proceeded to begin my wait which was estimated at 25 minutes. Must be called BakedTs because the employees work like they're baked and move at a snail's pace. I sat and watched a complete space cadet who was in front of me designing her shirts. She was on the phone the entire time and then got up in the middle of her design session to introduce herself to another costumer to ask to hold her babies. Then she walked out of the store. I noticed that my estimated wait time at this point had been 1 minute for the past 10 minutes. I asked an employee how much longer. His response was I had to wait for the space cadet to finish. She strolls in a few minutes a later and finishes up. Now it is my turn. I email my picture to them and get my shirts out. The employee then tells me they don't do pictures on outside shirts. So now I'm mad as I had been there close to an hour. I mentioned I was told this would be "easy" when I first arrived and he asked who told me that. I point at the manager who is no help. I'm trying to keep it together and ask if I buy their shirts and pick them up later, could he have me out of there in the next 7 minutes as I had somewhere to be. He point blank says no. So I ask if he thinks it would look okay if I do a DIY iron-on (I'm running out of options). He looks at me as if I was speaking a different language and proceeds to tell me that their machine is better because it is "10s, no 100s of thousands of dollars" (this is a T-shirt machine I remind you, not a freaking MRI machine). I quickly realized we were accomplishing nothing and left. read more

I went to Baked Ts for the first time this past week. I arrived 15 minutes before the store opened because I wanted to be one of the first to get service. Me and two other customers were waiting. There is an iPad at the front of the door with a note that reads: If you are pick up an order or have general questions, please sign in. I was not doing either, I had my design, and I knew the sizes I needed, but I saw another woman walk up and sign in as time went by. When they open 5 minutes later, although the three of us had been standing there for 15 + minutes, they decided to service the last person that walked up first. I asked to speak to a manager as he came out. He greeted the woman that was now being serviced ahead of all of us by name. When I explained to him that the three of us had been waiting, I was told, " Our service is first-come, first-serve", to which I said we were here first. He explained that we didn't sign in. One of the gentlemen stated that he did sign in, to which the manager stated, " You must not have done right". He looks us in the face and said, "This store is run by millennials if you don't like it too bad." What kind of response is that to your flawed systems and lack luster notes? He was very dismissive and borderline disrespectful. But I moved past it because I needed the shirts and didn't want to look for another same day service. Even though I was given a 45 minute return time to pick up the shirts tit took them 1hr and 20 minutes to finish. Upon picking them up, 2 of the 4 shirts were utterly wrong. I was forced to wait another 30 minutes for that to be corrected even though I provided clear instruction that the Baked T's employee wrote down, but hey, I guess that how a millennial run business operates. I won't be going back. The service is subpar, and the staff is rude. If you wanted to service your friend first, just say that. I am telling you ahead of time. This is not a place that you want to spend your money in. read more

Needed a last-minute shirt and found them on google. I called them and asked if they could do it same day. The girl who helped me was very nice and friendly. By the time I got to the store she already had the image ready for me and was able to get me in and out of the store within 20 minutes. The shirts are very reasonably priced at $16-$18 each (front only). If you like their Facebook page and show it to them they will take off an additional 10%. They do more than just T-shirts, I will definitely use them again instead of ordering shirts online because the prices are very comparable. Next time you need a shirt especially same day you should definitely give them a try I am sure you'll be impressed. Bought an event shirt here a while back and received an email that it was ready for pickup. I don't really live near the Loop, so normally I'd have just had it shipped to me, but it was coming up on a weekend and I figured I'd get some Seoul Taco while I was there, no big deal. I went in the next day after receiving the email and the extremely stoned gentleman behind the counter acted like I was an absolute idiot. "It won't be ready for a few weeks, that email was false." ??? After asking if I could just have it shipped to me then, he said he could have it done in an hour; this is why I'm giving them 3 stars instead of two, although the guy was still incredibly rude and probably needs to lay off the ganja. Unfortunately the t-shirts and brownies are not the only things at this store that are baked. We had a variety of issues with our small order of 6 shirts. Long waits, miscommunication, no communication, missing shirts, too many shirts, you name it. And while throughout it all everyone was very nice, no one seemed particularly apologetic, or willing to hustle to fix the problem. There was a lot of standing around with blank looks going on. All of the issues that came up were simple mistakes due to lack or organization or attention to detail. They had everything written down, they had our phone numbers, but they didn't call, or double check, or anything. They did make sure we got our whole order, and even discounted us some shipping because of their mistake. Plus the finished product was great, and the price was good. These things saved them from 1 star. Ultimately it was the service that was a problem. I might go here again if I just needed one or two shirts printed, but I would hesitate to take any kind of large, or complicated order that might have a tight time frame. read more

I stopped by on a Saturday while in The Loop and was surprised how friendly the staff was, from the minute I walked in I was greeted with a friendly smile without being pressured. The store is small however that isn't a problem. Overall the concept is simple, they sell unique t-shirts and also have graphic designers available to help make a custom shirt should you not be able to find exactly what you are looking for. The styles range from local to pop culture, and are reasonably priced. I did like that they had their own variation of the I St.Louis shirt which instead of the , features a Cardinal. I believe that Urban Outfitters used to sell that shirt but I cannot find it anywhere anymore so I might have to have Baked T's help print one up for me! Much like GoodWorks is a stop whenever I am in the Loop I need to add Baked T's to my list so I can see what creative ideas they have come up with since my last visit. read more

I don't have anything bad to say about this place really. We came in and sat down and our design was ready in five minutes. We paid and went across the street to Three Kings to have a beer and a snack while we waited for our shirts. Before I was halfway through my beer, we got a call that our shirts were ready. It was fast, good work and very painless for the customer. The staff could have been friendlier but oh well. Very satisfied with the experience overall. At the recommendation of Steven B., I went to Baked T's to design my own shirt for Cardinals Baseball. This place must be quite popular because I had to wait about 15 minutes before a graphic designer could help me out. Once I was seated, I couldn't believe how fast it took for my design to come together. I told them exactly what I wanted and the designer did an excellent job of putting it all together along with offering his advice and opinion. Within another 30-40 minutes, I had 2 shirts and 1 hoodie for about $70. Throw in a %10 discount for "liking" Baked T's on Facebook and I was down to $63. There was no charge for the graphic designer helping me out since we kept it under the 15 minute time limit, but anything over that costs $10 per 15 minutes. 4 starts for excellent service and quality product. read more

Our experience with Baked T's was a very good one for the most part other than there was one brand of shirts that ran VERY small. Luckily that fact is now noted on future orders. I had a great experience my first time around, second time not quite the same experience. I would suggest if you decide to use there services to go with anyone besides the gentleman with the longer hair, I believe his name is Mark. He rushed me and overall acted as if he did not want to be there. He huffed and puffed the whole entire time, I asked if he was okay and was told I have other customers. When I asked questions regarding the t-shirt selection he became frustrated. As a customer patronizing this establishment and spending money I believe they should treat their customers better. The staff at Baked T's go above and beyond to ensure that the customer is satisfied with their shirt, cap, etc.. is just right. I have had a custom shirt and cap made for the Salt n Pepa show on October 7th and even had Salt n Pepa, DJ Spinderella, and their manager ask where I got the shirts. I loved it so much that I turned around and had a custom Hillary Clinton shirt made for October 9th. Each time I wear the shirts I get asked where I got it. I think all the bad reviews are just crazy on here. Are they busy and a bit short sometimes....yes but its not hard to see why they are the only place in stl that does this type of work and if you look at their website they will tell you EXACTLY what to expect when you go in. They only print certain things on shirts that are brought in and they prob have a good reason for that and they tell you this on their website lol. That being said i have only had great experiences here. My wife and i have had 4 years of pride shirts made here. I have had them make countless shirts for my son and they recently made adorable disney shirts for my son and i. There designers know what they are doing and they give you realistic expectations of what is possible and what will look good and what wont. Not to mention extremely well priced. Im not sure where else you can go and get a shirt designed and printed in that short of time for what they charge. I love the place i think they are wonderful. read more

The minimum expectation for a professional company is for them to send you a final proof or a call to tell you if something does not look right. The proof on the initial order was not the end product and it looks awful. No call, no final proof sent. When we called, they said they should have called and to bring the shirts in and they would see about printing on a new shirt or work to make this right. When I drove down there, nothing. No apology, nothing of the previous day's conversation, just a waste of my time. Awesome. I was warned about using them but I'm a big believer in using local business and it ended up biting me. The original order was written and the person who printed the tees printed grey ink instead of black. I will never come back. I was vacationing in St. Louis (from Southern California) and looking for a unique present to take back to my boyfriend. We have a running private joke and when my friend and I walked past Baked T's I thought getting that joke put on a t-shirt would make a great personal gift. Concerned with how complicated it would be to do, how long it would take, and the cost, I wasn't quite sure if it would be feasible. Upon walking in, we were greeted and when I explained what I wanted, the salesman was totally excited about helping me out. I knew what I wanted the shirt to say, but wasn't sure exactly of fonts, colors or layout. The saleman sat down with us at the computer and showed us lots of fonts, and colors. He moved things around on the shirt and showed us different ways we could do it. Some things I wasn't sure about, and when I asked him, the guy was willing to share his opinion based on his experience. I didn't feel in any way rushed to make a final decision and he had lots of patience. When I finally found a layout that worked perfectly for me (as well as the perfect shirt to put it on), my friend and I went to lunch (at Blueberry Hill), and returned afterwards to pick up the shirt. They showed it to me and I loved it! The cost was totally affordable and they had put it in an adorable shopping bag with tissue paper and a bow, so I didn't even have to wrap it! Horrible customer service. Wasn't able to come in the store. Called and placed an order (1 shirt) online with an store associate for next day pick up. Store associate agreed and checked to make sure they had the shirt in stock. Well the next day comes and no shirt. The store didn't pick up the phone until 6pm and said "well I don't know who would've told you that, we have a big order today." I immediately asked for a refund and was told, "Just to let you know we don't do refunds on custom orders, but we will ." WOW!! REALLY. Ended up going to Threads in South County mall. I had been searching for a company that would print on a black t-shirt for a project I was working on for a client. I was directed to Baked T's by another company who could not complete the task. Imagine my surprise when Baked T's said that printing on a black t-shirt was not a problem. The tee's which are printed in full color on the front and back were completed yesterday and they look AMAZING!!!!!!!
