A spacious space that feels like a hallway with furniture along the way. Looking beyond that is a chill place to stay for a piece of a cake or pastry on display.
The height of excitement starts from the lobby with its 8 meter high ceiling, a left turn right before the front desk and straight-ahead is the glowing showcase of pastries and desserts. Instantly we recognised the bright Eric Kayser boxes, which happens to be their supplier of the anything baked. Expect the same quality and taste, honestly a downer since I expect hotel to have their own bakery, which explains the past tense of a name "Baked"
Coffee & Hot chocolate is provided by Toby's Estates. and their teas are form TWG Tea. I had hot chocolate (163 PHP) served in a short glass cup with a flower latte. If you're with Toby's hot chocolate so expect the same good thick and rich taste. The Brioche is a bit messy to eat, but a good snack while relax to the live pianist, which continually played throughout the hour I spent at the hotel.
SERVICE
New hotels, especially new brands tend to fault in service, as the hotel slowly builds their culture and staff, but Makati Diamond Residences (Hotel) has silently benefited from the Diamond Hotel in Pasay, which has been in operation since 1993. The staff that was stationed at the shop was genuinely hospitable and refilled our glass with water diligently.
AMBIANCE
I feel the layout was severely constrained and felt like a hallway rather than a dedicated space, but it's a subjective matter.
