Also ordered the pizza pastry and the chicken cheese pastry. They were very fresh, crispy and both really good. They continuously replenish with new pastries. I was there from around 11-1pm and saw them bring so many different ones out from the kitchen. There's a small restroom that's located downstairs. There's some seating in the cafe but not very spacious. It's a cute corner cafe, in the summer it looks like they have some chairs outside too. I would not hesitate to come back here again.

I've been trying to watch what I eat, so I only ordered the praline and hazelnut croissant, even though there were so many items I wanted to try. The croissant was amazing! It had a nice fluffy texture, and it was very sweet. Highly recommend! I also ordered the lotus latte. The latte was sweet, but not overly sweet. It had a biscoff like cookie layer on top which gave it a unique flavour. I enjoyed the drink, but I probably wouldn't get again. The service was quick, and the server was very helpful in helping me choose which drink I should select :) Definitely will be coming back to try more of the pastries!

Having gone to Fika for a number of years, the coffee shop is not accessible where you do have to take a few steps to enter the shop. The space inside is inviting and comforting, where the best room to sit in is at the back where they have an accent wall full of open books. Moreover, the cafe also has seating outdoors as well on their front and back patios when the weather is nice. There is also plenty of coffee beans/accessories/tshirts to purchase. They also have frozen Swedish cinnamon buns if you'd like to have some at home. Lastly, there is also wifi if you'd like to work a bit in their space. I recently stopped by Fika for an afternoon coffee. I hadn't gone in a while and it was nice to see that the coffee shop wasn't too busy. I ordered a cortado which was made at a reasonable time. I also purchased a bag of coffee beans as they now roast their own beans. Sitting in the back room looking at the book accent wall, I casually sipped my drink, feeling the caffeine kick in. Staff were friendly and service was great. Overall, a nice place for an afternoon fika!

I liked that it was really moist (would have loved it if there was just some more chocolate hazelnut flavour throughout the muffin instead of just at the bottom and a bit on top). Free wifi here and with lots of seating indoors and outdoors. Washrooms are downstairs (and therefore not fully accessible). It's a lovely spot though, and a popular spot for local students and workers. They do have particular hours and are not open everyday so follow them on Instagram for updates! Food and drinks are a perfect marriage of western and eastern palettes. You'll find matcha, hojicha and various types of milk teas here, plus Asian-flavoured baked goods too. I love their standard fare and rotating items. There's always something new and exciting to try. If you're a fan of the texture of mochi -- be sure to try their Matcha Mochi Cake! My go to drinks here are the matcha and hojicha lattes.

But still ended up ordering a drink since I saw they had Hong Kong Lemon Tea. It was really refreshing! Also ordered a cookie, which had the tea and floral flavour to it. The rice krispie was definitely a bit salty, you could taste the seaweed, and sweet from the marshmallow. Both indoor seating and their back outdoor patio were packed! Will probably go again someday to try some of their popular items like their milk bun sandwiches and mochi cakes.

Parking can be a bit busy but usually okay. The service both times has been patient and kind to explain the various options. We decided to go with a milk cake with half lotus and half Dubai chocolate. The cake is soaking in milk which gives it a "wet cake" texture. I imagine it may not be everyone's favorite texture but has decent flavor. The crunchy topping contrasts against the soft, moist cake. The lotus has that nice cookie flavor and crunch while the Dubai chocolate with pistachio offers that chocolate and nutty flavor. I prefer the latter but both are good. We also got a matcha strawberry latte to go. Both really nice to look at and to drink. The matcha has good flavor without being overly bitter while the strawberry provides that fruity sweetness to the drink. Overall, it's a pricier experience but I enjoyed it and will be back.

I returned for its Dubai chocolate bars. Kanafani Sweets is located in a plaza on the northeast corner of Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East. It's in the same plaza as the Potato Bar. I had no problem finding parking. I pulled into a parking spot in front of the store and walked in. The order pickup area was in front of me. I read the signs and the order area was a few steps deeper into the store. I had the nicest woman who cheerfully said hi. She was helpful with answering my question and offering suggestions. She showed me the qashtuta, which was milk cake. She let me know that I could either get a solid flavour, such as Biscoff, or do three different flavours, such as Biscoff, hazelnut, and Dubai chocolate. Wow! My Yelp experience consisted of having knafeh, which I absolutely love. She said that it could be made soft or crispy. I love crispy. She also let me know that I could get either pistachio or chocolate sauce on the side. I went with the former. For the drink, she shared what was popular. The iced tiramisu latte was one of them. I love tiramisu. I was down checking out an iced drink version. I got a buzzer for my order. The knafeh takes roughly ten minutes to make. I sat in a comfy chair near the order area. It was nice to relax after driving for over an hour to get here. I used the washroom. There's an individual stall for women. It was clean, cheerful, and pleasant. I used it again just before I left to run a few errands before heading home. I watched the buzzer light up. I headed to the pickup area. The nice woman had my order ready. She let me know that I got a brownie bite on the house. It was so generous! I thanked her and headed to my table to chow down. The iced tiramisu latte was exceptional. I got a lady finger that I could dip into my drink. The espresso was a good strength with the cocoa. It had milk. You can substitute the espresso for decaf, and the milk for a dairy-free or lactose-free substitute. I didn't bother. It was nicely iced and a good size to wash down everything that I ate. I got syrup on the side, as well as pistachio sauce. I poured the pistachio sauce over the knafeh. So good! The knafeh had cheese inside. It was stretchy and hot. Over time, the cheese lost its stretchy factor as it cooled. It was yummy with the right balance of crispiness and chopped pistachios with the pistachio sauce. The syrup made the knafeh slightly sweet. The sweetness was perfect for my liking. The knafeh was excellent. I have been trying to find a decent place that makes Dubai chocolate bars. Before visiting this store, most places made their bars on their own, but they were too soft. It was as if I looked at the bar and it melted on its own out of fear. I bought a bar of Dubai chocolate Lotus to enjoy. I paid with a credit card and included a tip because staff are so helpful and friendly. This bar was excellent. The crispy filling had Lotus cookie spread in it. The milk chocolate held everything together. I was impressed. I will be back to get the regular bar next. Having been to Forget Me Not several times, their espresso based drinks are always great. However, I tried their banana bread matcha latte last year when it went viral and it wasn't bad. This year, they have their banana bread latte series again but they now have a banana bread hojicha latte. Being a huge fan of hojicha, I had the banana bread hojicha latte recently at Forget Me Not and it tasted pretty great! Price wise, it is on the more expensive side. Service wise, the staff at this coffee shop are always friendly and service is efficient where drinks are made at a reasonable time. Overall, a solid spot for coffee along the Ossington Strip! Forget Me Not seemed quite promising, so we popped in and I began perusing the menu. I knew I wanted some cold, so I was immediately drawn to the Vanilla Dream Cold Brew ("cold brew brewed for 12 hours topped with house-made vanilla sweet cream"). It's delicious. The rich coffee and that vanilla sweet cream balance each other out perfectly. It's a refreshing, satisfying concoction that reminded me a little of the similar drinks I just quaffed at Disneyland. The fine folks at Forget Me Not Coffee obviously know exactly what they're doing. I'll be returning very soon, that's for sure.
