Scratches were on the door and the panel was scared up. It did not look like it was worth the cost. The door came with a battery powered keypad and a key turn lock that had only one key that did not work with the lock. I went back and forth trying to reach Don, which was a waste of time because he didn't answer my phone calls and office personnel didn't answer but when I inquired about getting the door, responses were super fast and everyone was very pleasant. Don only started responding to me when I spoke to Bruce about him avoiding my calls. Don responded with nothing but excuses. We went back and forth for weeks about getting touch up paint and keys to fit the door and I still didn't get a remedy. I had the worst experience ever. I would caution anyone using The Window Source. What you pay for might not be what you get and there are extensive wait times. Customer service is not great. I will say Bruce was nice and empathetic. The good thing that came out of this ordeal was I got my money back after requesting it. Nothing could be disputed and Don knew the door and my experience were a flop and bad business.

Looking at the reviews on here from the past almost caused me to cancel my order with Window World here in Memphis. I believe Window World is a franchise so each location is independently owned but backed by the national parent company. We have a Germantown, TN facebook group and I checked that to see if anyone had posted their experience with Window World. Reviews were much more favorable/current than here which is why I didn't end up cancelling my order... Not sure if ownership has changed since the reviews of the past but my personal experience with Window World of Memphis has been excellent. We actually got 2 separate quotes, one for windows and one for 2 french doors from the living room to the back yard. After getting the initial estimate for the french doors, got a call from window world saying they were sending someone out to take final measurements before ordering the doors. Turns out that the owner was the one that came out. We have an interesting configuration with our foundation leading to the backyard. Without going into too much detail, after seeing this, I was asked to provide some photographs of the door sill leading outside. Window World ended up sending these to the door manufacturer who then stated that they could not accommodate our configuration. Kudos to the owner for taking the time to evaluate this specific situation. Got an apologetic email from the owner and he promptly refunded the deposit... On to the windows... Was told the windows would take about 6-8 weeks to manufacture and that was accurate. We put down the deposit on Aug 12, 2016 and the windows were installed on Oct 5, 2016... Install team was supposed to arrive between 8 am and 9 am and they were here at 8:30. Three person crew (1 female, 2 males) that was very professional and did a great job with the installation. If you have ever had to deal with contractors/installers/etc here in Memphis, you know to expect the worst so having the crew that we did was a pleasant surprise (not sure if Window World Memphis has multiple install teams). We have plantation shutters throughout the house and I was a little concerned about those being damaged. Called the office and asked to speak with the owner about it. Got a call back the same day and was told that if the salesman didn't express any concerns the it shouldn't be a problem. After the installation, all the plantation shutters look exactly like they did before the install... All in all dealing with Window World here in Memphis has been a very good experience. Great prices, high quality product, great warranty and good install team (if you can get the same one we did...)

Even though the one year warranty was not up. I have a home in KC, and used window world and have been completely satisfied with their customer service. So take caution with this company...they have no customer service and also when they installed my windows they installed them incorrectly, I had to pay my carpenters to reinstall them. It's pretty sad that one person (ANITA) with a lousy attitude can cost a company business... So if want to spend your hard money and have smooth transaction you might want to skip this window world.

On Wednesday we got a call asking if we would be home at the time scheduled, which we said yes. Thursday three o'clock the person wasn't there. About 10 after my wife called and they said they were running behind (could have given us a courtesy call to let us know) , technician call with an attitude saying he was three minutes out. When he got there my wife had some new shoe covers she asked him to put on, as we do with anyone who comes to our home for estimates or to do work and they do with no questions asked. Technician said he had his own which he did, but he had been using the same ones all day, so my wife again asked if he would use the new ones, he refused and asked if it was a safety issue, my wife said no, but if he was not comfortable with the request maybe he should leave, so he said he felt uncomfortable and left. My wife called the office to speak to a supervisor and he answered the phone. I asked to speak with him to ask him what was the issue of using our shoe covers, and he said that well maybe we thought his pants or shirt might not be clean so he felt it would be better that he leave. I explained that people come to our home to do work and while doing the work their pants or shirt may get sweaty or dirty and that was not an issue, its just that walking around on different surfaces with your shoes you don't know what you're picking up on your feet, but if that's how you feel well ok. Others may have had good experiences with them, but we could not even get an estimate, I would not recommend them to anyone.

I could follow up but then will I have to continue to follow up throughout the project? Basically I feel my time was wasted. I found a brochure for The Glass Guru and gave them a call. When the rep got to my house he started talking about this huge fixed window (picture window) like he knew all about it, which confused me. He informed me he had come out before and treated the window we were talking about, which explains how I came across their brochure. The previous owners spent $370 to try a treatment that will unfog a window. (Little holes are drilled in the corners of the glass and solutions are sprayed in between the panes.) He said that treatment has a warranty and he could try the treatment again at no cost to me. That was a pleasant surprise! But on top of that, he said since the treatment didn't work (and he said it's possibly the fault of the technician vs the treatment itself) that I could get the cost of the treatment discounted off of replacing the window-whether it be just replacing the glass or the entire window. The treatment he was describing is unlike anything I've ever heard of and I bet a lot of people would try that before going full on into costly replacements. My rep was very professional on the phone and in person and called when he was on his way. I could tell he is passionate with his work. I'm really glad I called them because other companies just want to give you a quote for new replacement windows and that's it. He gave me detailed explanations of multiple options, broke down how things work into layman's terms and I'm waiting to hear back with a quote.

Asked him how much it would cost, he answered "sorry we don't do doors". I asked for just the estimate, and he went into a routine how awesome "the Winchoice experience " was. Politely Asked him to take measurement for an estimate, since I was busy . He then called his boss, put it on speakerphone and handed me a dirty phone during the virus stuff. I refused and his boss tried to give me another sales pitch, and I again asked for an estimate, before any more speeches. Went back to my work and he left without an estimate or a goodbye. I have been given multiple excuses including the window being in the wrong warehouse to " we are waiting for an installer in your area to be free" In the mean time a full house window replacement for a customer that I referred was delivered incorrectly and they did not install even the first window. They simply left the job site. They COULD have driven the mile to m house and installed my new window but, they did not have it with them.
