Both dogs are about 150+ pounds and can easily be distracted. So a handful. I was really anxious about having this service done because they can be a lot for most people. Most Saint Bernards don't "have" to be groomed regularly either so I didn't know if it'd be worth it. They were lengthy appointments but they are both so fresh and clean. I'm overly impressed by how they feel, look, and honestly their entire mood. The employees reassured me that both dogs were great and everything went awesome. Prices were great as well. While she is not thrilled to arrive at Hair of the Dog (which is how she feels about anywhere she thinks she's going to get left), she doesn't make too much of a fuss. The groomers do a great job and respect what I want. The dogs leave happy and smelling delicious. They also work with my schedule. I am so glad I found Hair of the Dog and I plan to continue coming to Grinnell from Des Moines for my poodles' grooming.

However, the staff was FANTASTIC and took great care of our dogs, treating them as if they were their own. They rotate the groups of dogs inside and out of the large play areas to provide exercise and allowed us to bring our own toys, food, and bedding so the experience would be less traumatizing (for the dogs :).
