Her technique is perfect and fast! I did full set of French. The price was $ 40 and took only 45 minutes. It was beautiful and ended as my request. I will go there again. I want to do pedicure next time ($ 30). You should make a reservation. read more

First time here and we will be back! Very reasonable prices (25 for gel mani and only an extra $5 for beautiful nail art). The nail artist is really skilled and meticulous in her work. They gave us bottles of water and had comfy massage chairs- not to mention the hot stones they add in to their massages! This place clearly pays attention to the details and takes pride in their work. read more

This place is honestly just OK. I called ahead to make a reservation, and they almost gave it away but then thankfully told the other people to come back at another time. The person cutting my nail totally sliced the sides off to make trapezoids and I was honestly so upset and how she carelessly clipped away and exposed some sensitive areas of my finger. I asked her for no shaping on the other side, so my nail shapes are inconsistent per hand. Le sigh. Thankfully she did not try to up-sell me on any other services or even engage in small talk with me. I liked the purple color I chose, and they have a pretty good collection. I've had the gel for almost three weeks no and it's still holding fine. Good value but don't want to be back bc of the poor clip clip experience. read more

I have been coming here for close to 10 years, starting at their old location across from the CalTrain station. The prices are fantastic compared to anywhere else in this area. For me the gel french manicure lasts 3+ weeks and typically grows out before there is even one chip. Jenny also cuts and colors my hair and it's so convenient to get a haircut, color, mani and pedi all at the same time. Jenny and Frank are wonderful people and always treat their customers very well. I really like supporting this family business. read more

great place to get nails done but only if you happen to get a good person. Fortunately I got a patient and very precise nail lady and I was satisfied with my French tip pedi. but my friend went in with me and was not so satisfied because her pedi was sloppy and uneven and very rushed. it all depends on the lady you get that day. other than that prices are reasonable and salon is relatively clean inside. read more

Frank is the man! I've been going to him for maybe almost 10 years now since their shop was on Castro. I've moved since but I still drive 20 mins just to get it done by frank because he knows what I want, it's simple and straightforward. It has been easy to communicate since I met him the first time and I've never had to tell him what to do he just gets it. Cheap price and easy going real good guy, Frank is the one. read more

Hands down (pun intended) THE best nail salon in Mountain View. I moved from Santa Cruz in January and struggled to find a quality manicure anywhere around here for a decent price. After shopping around for a while I stumbled upon this place and haven't looked back. Best mani Best pedi Best massage chairs Best staff Best prices Best color selection Always amazing attention to detail Honestly can't say enough wonderful things about them. A true gem!!! read more

Thank you Bailey Salon! Today I needed to take my acrylic nails off as I had to go to a nursing interview and only had acrylics on for a recent vacation. I was about 5 minutes away. The lady on the phone asked how far away I was, I said 5 mins, and she was glad to take me in! I waited only a few minutes and was serviced right away! My nails were soaked off! Thank you thank you for this! At some salons they will basically rip off your acrylics sometimes using another nail tip to do so- and it's painful and usually leaves my nails brittle and sad. They soaked my acrylics off painlessly and I also opted in for a manicure (no polish per my own preference) and walked out with my nails looking natural, clean and beautiful! I am so happy I came here. read more

Pretty disappointed with this place. I had been going to their old location for about five years and although even then, the quality of the mani pedis ranged widely, I continued going back because it was a pretty good value ($20 pedi, $45 French shellac mani pedi). During my last visit to their old location, I needed to get back to work and Jenny had agreed to allow me to come back to finish my pedi at another time. In case she wasn't at the store at the time, she gave me a certificate to use. Fast forward, I finally find time to go back to the store and discover that they've moved. Shouldn't be a problem in my mind - so I go to the new location. Jenny isn't there so the girl who is calls Jenny to ask about the certificate. I stupidly left the certificate at work so the girl told me I could pay now and come back later to get the money back after presenting the certificate. First - the pedi hurt so much, that at one point I had to pull my foot away. The nail polish chipped within days and overall it was a pretty low quality service. Second - I came back a week later with the certificate and was told that the legal name of the business had changed, so they were doing me a favor by accepting the certificate at all. However, I was then told that the cost of the pedi had gone up at the new location so after giving me my $20 with a lot of hesitation, she then took back the money and made me pay an additional $5. That's a pretty steep price hike. Mainly, I'm annoyed that they did not at all honor what they told me. Now that the cost of services have gone up, not worth coming back here. read more

I'm so glad I discovered this gem. I originally went to SuperCuts on El Monte for a haircut. I was told that since I didn't have an appointment, they couldn't accommodate me. Fine, SuperCuts you just lost my business. Undeterred, I remembered seeing this place, and stopped by. The place was very clean and spacious. They happily accommodated my walk-in, and I was seated right away. My stylist was very thorough and efficient. She noticed that I had absentmindedly placed my purse on the floor (where loose hair could fly in), and she picked it up and placed it on the chair next. She followed my instructions exactly to the detail, and in the end, I walked away a happy customer. Avoid the chain haircut places, and go to Bailey's Salon. read more

My friend and I made an appointment for gel manicures ($25 each) late last night for early this morning. First clients in the door, peaceful environment, and a variety of colors to choose from. Jenny and her assistant were very accommodating and friendly. Great work ladies! I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area next time. read more

I'm not sure why I haven't done this sooner. For the people who have recently reviewed this place in a negative light (1 or 2 stars) please consider the following: I grew up in Sunnyvale. My friend's mom use to own this place, and it was busy after years of building her business. When she and her partners sold it to the current owners, it was a difficult transition to maintain all the loyal clientele, but they've perserviered and as you can see, only recently have they had some less than positive reviews, so perhaps there are some new ladies doing nails. But I expect that will pass, other, better nail sylists will come in, and they'll get back on track. I've been getting my haircut here by Frank for about 10 years. I haven't been religious about going to him, but I'll tell you that the he's a better barber than the salons that charge me $30 - $40. He is meticulous, cares about his work, doesn't rush, and is consistent. He always tries to charge me $12. I give him $20 because it's worth it. He doesn't use a straight razor or anything, but if you want that kind of thing you could ask, i'm not sure if he does it. This is a family owned business. They live on the other side of san jose because that's probably where they can afford to live. They work hard and are open everyday except Sunday. Frank takes his family on an anual vacation and is a good hearted person. So....to those of you who bagged on this place - these are real people running a real business. Sorry you were late to your appointment - sorry your nails weren't perfect - sorry you had a bad experience once. But Mountain View Hair and Nail has been here longer than you have most likely, and if you you're going to write a negative review based on one experience, then why not consider how many of your customers could do the same? read more

I came here to get my gel nails off. The lady asked me if I was sure that I wanted to take them off because they would damage my nails... of course I want to take them off... that's why I came! An older lady sat me in the chair and started prying off my nails with a tool. It seemed a bit strange because she didn't seem too sure of herself doing it. Then it started to HURT... I let her know, but she kept doing it. I repeatedly would pull my finger back because it was uncomfortable or painful. She kept doing it... so I asked if they could soak my nails in acetone and she kept telling me that it would take forever. Well, forever is better than you ripping my nails off!! She was insisting that she do it her way so I got up and left. Never again... read more

$45 for Shellac + Pedi... Hot stone massage + massage chairs for pedi customers included. NICE girls there. No overly loud gossiping in Viet. Convenient, right in Castro :D If you're reading this and you don't understand the significance... I don't know what else to tell you. Satisfied with the job. 4.5 Rating, for serious. If the pretty nails last, I will upgrade to a five-star. Will definitely be coming back again. read more

My nail tech was very nice, but I asked for natural looking, thin acrylic nails, and my full set turned out pretty clumpy. I also wanted normal nail polish and they insisted that I get shellac and that shellac lasts longer. Note, the day I got my fill, the shellac on one nail chipped off the tip and one week later, I'm completely repainting them. So annoyed. They also told me their Credit Card machine was broken after I'd had my nail service. No idea if they were being honest, but I felt frustrated that they didn't tell me beforehand because I didn't have adequate cash and I would have REALLY insisted that I not get shellac for the $7 upcharge that I didn't have the cash for. read more

I went in on a weekday and I was the only customer. Got a lot of attention from both Jenny and another lady whose name I forget. What I liked about their service is the detail they give to mani-pedi. They take their time and do a neat job! They dont have a wide range of nail colors, but they picked some fine colors for my nails. The massage chair worked well and I felt They are however not great with removing acrylic nails. They were hesitant to remove my nails as they didn't know how and said I should get a Shellac done after my natural nails grow out and it's easier for them to remove my acrylic. That's a first, in all my nail spa experiences. Usually, most nail technicians easily remove the acrylic off. I only paid $25 for the mani-pedi, so I will go back here. It's conveniently located in front of the caltrain station which is a plus. read more

PROS: + walk-in appointment was easy peasy. Came around 5:15pm on a weekday and was the only one there (more walk-ins came around 5:30pm and later) + awesome location: one block from the Caltrain station + $30 for a pedi/mani CONS: - not very gentle with my nails; especially when it came to filing and cutting -- had my nails short but they made it even shorter - while it's not dirty, the interior felt outdated and the fluorescent lighting aged the space making it feel a little unclean - unorganized nail polishes on the shelves and in the spinning rack, which made it harder to find the right color - lack of brands and color. A lot of hues of red - TV was constantly losing connectivity Overall, I liked how my nails turned out ... I'd consider coming back here when my nails are longer (so they won't hurt me again) read more

Note that the location moved to 570 North Shoreline Blvd Suite C! I've been here three times and they are always very nice. They are usually busy in the evenings on weekdays, especially if you come an hour before closing. Recommend calling in at least two hours prior. The pedicure involves a shin scrub, hot stone massage, and light foot massage. I have no complaints about the nails. Gel mani and pedi are $25 each. Now forgive me while I relax here instead of writing a longer review... read more

Customer service sucks. Water for my feet was extremely hot, and they didn't even bother to ask how it was. Pedicure hurts. The lady who was working on my toes was rushing from me to two other customers and this is after I made an appointment. She was not carefull with my toes and nails at ALL!!! I was tensed the whole time, because she was so uncaring it hurtfful!!! The worst experience in my life!!!! Also, their gel samples are waaay difgerent from the actual colors... Aghhh... So disappointed... Will never come here again, and would not recommend to anyone!!! read more

Not bad, my friend and I were able to get shellac Mani and regular pedi ($40) on a late Saturday afternoon. Place was pretty empty when we walked in. Small selection of shellac nail colors (choices were basically clear, nude, or some obvious shade of pink/red). Manicurist was friendly, nice massage tables. Only gripe is that she didn't paint my nails to the cuticle (which I sometimes actually don't mind because it can stick to the skin) but it was noticeably above it that it looked like the nail color had grown out for a few days and not like I had just gotten it done. read more

Wonderful manicure and pedicure! Especially the pedicure! They did a very thorough job, and I really appreciated it! In some places I would have to check and keep an eye out, but I felt very relaxed and didn't have to worry. I was always very cautious of careless manicurists for cutting into my cuticles. They ladies here are very gentle. The hot stone included in the pedicure was a nice surprise! read more

I can't believe I have never given this place a review, it was my go to place for 4 years!!!! I LOVE Jenny and Frank who run this place. They are super sweet and always smile - and they work their tails off!! Not to mention, I am notorious for last minute appts, and this place takes walk ins and last minute appts. Which is AWESOME. Book ahead though for weekends and holidays, this place gets packed! My husband will only go to Frank for hair cuts (we live in TX now and he flew back to CA for work and waited until he could see Frank, he knows what my hubby likes!) I used to go to Jenny for nails and eyebrows (then we moved away :(. Jenny is very attentive and makes sure you will like what you get. It got the point where she started suggesting colors to try because she knew what I liked! Her prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location being SO close to Castro. It's a no frills type of place (place isn't super decorated, it's not spa like with the lighting, no free drinks), but I think that is reflected in the pricing structure. I don't care about that, I just want the services to be great, and they are. However, not all the girls are as awesome as Jenny is. While she does train them, Jenny is just the best. She's super detailed, but needs to find ladies that are concerned about customer satisfaction as she is. But I am also super picky...so I just make sure to give detailed feedback along the way if something doesn't look quite right. However, this isn't to say they do a poor job, they do not by any means. Go here! This is definitely a small family business that you can feel great about supporting :) read more

First thing...they've since moved since I've last visited so this review is for the staff and quality. Can't really speak to the new location. Simply put: best bang for your buck. Nothing about the salon really stands out. The ladies are nice, but just your average friendliness. They often speak to each other in Vietnamese while working and don't offer up much conversation w/ the customer (but that's not really different than every other nail salon I've been to). The big BUT, is that for their prices and quality of the actual job, I keep coming back. (It was $23 for a gel manicure at the old location, and based on newer reviews, looks like it has gone up to $25...still cheaper than the average $30 at most other nail salons). I don't always need to feel super pampered, sometimes all I need is a good looking manicure. They have a very decent/average color selection, and are pretty quick. Overall, they do a good job and are the cheapest I've found in the area. Note: if you want to be pampered and experience the best customer service from a nail salon you'll ever receive for a slightly higher price ($30/gel manicure)....go to Sassy Nail in Santa Clara. read more

I really wanted to like this place since it is conveniently located across from the Mountain View CalTrain station. I went in on a slow afternoon to get my shellac removed and a new color put on. The technician hacked away at my nail with a rough file to break the shellac and really cut into my nails with the file. After soaking my nails in acetone via an acetone cotton ball placed on my nail and wrapped with foil, she proceeded to use that metal thingie that pushes back cuticles to scrape off the shellac. The acetone hadn't worked and much of my nail came up leaving ugly white marks all over my nails where my nails were stripped off my the metal scraper. This was quite frightening as my nails were wrecked and I didn't know if I could file them with a smoother file at home to make the white marks go away. (Answer, no...not with a smoothish file and I'm afraid of taking off too much nail to go with a rougher file). She pushed too hard into my cuticles during the scrape process and she also cut my cuticles to the point of bleeding. Should have read Tiffany C's and Rosie C's reviews first. read more

This is my second posting for the store. Jenny is super sweet, and the first review I wrote for was due because of her and her friendliness. I got a mani and pedi from her at first and she did a great job. However, I decided to go with fake nails this time, and I hate saying this but she did an awful job. My nails have already started to raise off, it's been a week since I had them. I haven't done anything to where it would make them do that either. I have had fake nails before and never have they come up this fast. There are also bubbles and marks from the gel not forming correctly. I would recommend this place for mani and pedis but for fake nails, find another place. read more

The overhead on this place is low, but you can't beat the location, service and price. I have had them cut my hair (no wash, minimal dry) for under $20 and the cut was better than what I have paid much more for at other salons. The manicures and pedicures are very reasonable and they do a really good job. I love the fact that there are not 20 chairs and that the same manicurists and stylists are there every time and the shop has a nice neighborhood feel to it and It is right across the street from the Mt. View CalTrain station. If you are looking for quality, personal salon services at great prices, this is the place to go.
