American Water Resources assigned Bailey Plumbing Heating Cooling to fix my water heater on Saturday, and it is now Monday with zero contact from them. They accepted my claim but never called to schedule an appointment. I called both their 800 number and their 732 number all day Saturday and Sunday. Every time, the front desk redirected me to "dispatch," which is just a voicemail box that no one monitors. No call back. No update. No service. What's even more frustrating is that they keep accepting claims from American Water Resources, yet they do not follow through. If you try to reach them yourself, you'll only get looped back into the same voicemail dead end. I honestly don't understand why they list themselves as a service provider for American Water Resources when they can't even provide basic communication, let alone actual service. Completely unhelpful and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend them to anyone. To "A Bailey's Pluming" or "Bailey Plumbing Heating Cooling" - don't respond with an apology or that I need to call you or provide a number so you guys can fix this matter. I made a claim with American Water Resources. My claim was contracted out to A Bailey Plumbing. They reached out to me to schedule their appointment within 24 hours. I made the appointment for a Tuesday. The technician was supposed to show up between 8 AM and noon and the person I spoke with on the phone said someone would reach out when they were on their way. Noon rolled around and I hadn't heard anything. I called a few times and had trouble getting through. When you call their main number, you were supposed to hit one for American water resources claims. However, every time you hit one, no one ever answers. You have to hit prompt four, which is for all other questions. I finally got a hold of someone and they got a hold of the dispatcher and said that the technician was stuck at a current job over 40 minutes away from my house. I told them I took half a day off of work and moved one of my own appointments to accommodate their service appointment. She rescheduled my appointment for two days later on Thursday for 8 AM to noon. However, I said I have to get to work on Thursday, so can you please schedule me as one of the first earlier appointments especially because you guys screwed me on Tuesday and never showed up. She said no problem. I'll note the account that you're one of the first appointments. The next day, Wednesday I get a call from them and they said we actually have a cancellation today. Would you like the technician to come by in half an hour I said, of course that would work out perfect. I then get a text with the technician's name and picture and that he was on the way. Five minutes later, they called me back and said sorry that was for a different customer. We called the wrong person. So then I said just to confirm my appointment for Thursday you have me marked for earlier in the day. The gentleman said yes. Thursday rolled around and we called around 10 AM to follow up and just confirm what was going on. The lady was very rude on the phone and said you are scheduled for later in the day by noon. I said just cancel my appointment. I'm not dealing with this anymore. I called American water resources and told them to outsource my claim to another company because this is unacceptable. ZERO STARS. After 4 trips to my home, the problem finally "resolved". Unbeknownst to us, a cap to sewer line was not threaded on properly and our sewage has been filling our crawl space for weeks. Called repeatedly since this discovery and they WILL NOT CALL US BACK. We are looking to have the biohazard cleaned at no cost to us, and the pipe closed properly. They installed my water heater 3 years ago. It stopped working. First tech said it might be the burner -- if it shuts off again, call back. It did. I did. Second tech shows up and says it's a roof vent cap and wants $1,300 for just that. Called another company -- they confirmed it's the burner, and since it's still under warranty, Bailey should be the one to replace it. If anyone else does it, the warranty's void. Called Bailey again -- they said no one's available until tomorrow 12-5. I took off work and waited at home in 34° weather with no hot water. At 3 PM, they cancel and say they don't know when they can come. "We'll talk to a supervisor," Nicole said. It's been 2 weeks. Still no hot water. Still no service. And they really don't seem to care. Warranty work? They ghost you. Customer service? Nonexistent. Would I ever recommend them? Never. read more

American Water Resources dispatched Bailey Plumbing for sewer coverage work. AWR charged $50.00 co -pay. Bailey charged $436.10 extra for the job. We still have the same sewer problem. Bailey says they don't warranty the work, its AWR responsibility. To get it fixed properly, Bailey said to contact AWR, but they would still charge me $436.10 to do the job again. Bailey shifts the blame to AWR, but does not stand behind their work. BAILEY WAS PAID TO DO THE WORK. DO NOT TRUST THEM. read more

American Water Resources (AWR) dispatched Bailey Plumbing to our home to help fix a broken pipe. The technician showed up on time and confirmed the same problem we reported to AWR. The technician claimed our pipes were "tampered" with even though they were installed prior to us owning the home and contracting services with AWR. The technician quoted us $1,100 to replace a length of pipe since this was the only available option and was ready to cut into the walls within 15 minutes of being at our home. We still had questions and concerns before the work commenced and the technician became verbally abusive dismissing our calm, concise inquiries. Instead of bringing us a level of comfort and taking a couple more minutes to more accurately determine where cuts were to be made into the finished wall, he openly mocked us before stomping out the door. Total time there was less than 20 minutes. We promptly found another plumber same day who was able to fix the problem at the failed union without haplessly cutting into our finished walls. The work was less than half the price and the plumber fully addressed questions prior to beginning work which took about 40 minutes. The plumber also identified the underlying cause and took preventative steps to help stop future occurrences. We would never call Bailey Plumbing back for any work due to their inaccurate claims, lack of transparency, and overall abusive behavior when dealing with customers. We are also canceling our contract with American Water Resources as they never contacted us again after charging us a $50 deductible to help address false claims and fix the issue as agreed upon in the contract. I was called again at the end of my time window that they were backed up and would be late. For two days I changed my schedule to accommodate Baileys. I saw two Bailey's trucks at another home in my neighborhood and it became obvious that they took on a much higher paying job than mine and disregarded my time. So disappointed. Bailey Plumbing wouldn't give me any type of price estimate over the phone for anything, and told me I would need to wait for the technician to arrive. Our window was 8-12, and they didn't show up until four hours after twelve. I had to call our of work and they were four hours late....and then quoted me almost $765 to snake a line of the toilet needed to be removed. Oh, but they offered a discount for being late, $20 dollar coupon. Will never use them EVER again. They do not respect time and price gouge. The tech gave us a Bailey business card with the total amount due after he completed the work. Then they forged a signature ( look at it- anyone can tell this is a forged scribble)! I called Bailey to install a new garbage disposal in my home. The technician arrived quickly and was a nice guy who said he had one on the truck, the original price he quoted me was over $1000 which was exceptionally high. Seeing as it was Labor Day weekend and I had my daughter's wedding the following weekend and was super busy with that, I reluctantly agreed to do the job for $799 (the disposal costs roughly $200, the rest was labor, tax and whatever charges, they do not break down the costs individually) The job was completed and the tech left. After dinner my wife washed the dishes and there was a leak again under the sink. I called Bailey knowing they work till 9PM, Alyce a very understanding and personable dispatcher advised me that she could not send out a technician to repair the job as they would have to charge me a second fee to respond. Alyce scheduled me for the next morning which was fine. The next morning a different technician came out also a good guy. He observed a leak with the new flange installed the day before and said he could fix it. He attempted to fix it but it was still leaking, I suggested that he forget the garbage disposal, just put regular piping in which he said he could do, but would have to get a new price for that. He made a phone call and came in with a whopping $550+ bill for some PVC piping, a P-trap, flange and strainer. You can Google these parts and see that they do not add up to much money wise. I reluctantly agreed to this, and was advised to call the office to request a refund from the original $799 bill that I had paid the day before. This same day after the technician left we now had a new leak. Once again I called Bailey and spoke to Alyce the dispatcher again, again she was very empathetic but could not send out a technician until Tuesday (Monday was Labor Day and they were closed) I was told to expect a phone call regarding the issues that occurred over the weekend on Tuesday. Needless to say this never occurred, I called at 11AM and was advised that my refund was approved which I was not satisfied with. I also asked the rep on the phone if someone was coming to my home to fix the latest leak, she stated she could not send out anyone, but the Field Supervisor Dennis would come the next day Wednesday morning. This now turned into a 5 day job. Dennis came Wednesday morning, nice man, many years of experience. He spotted the leak which wasn't a big one and switched out one piece quickly. I told him I was not satisfied with the whole Bailey process, price, etc. I mentioned to him I believe given I had three separate trucks at my home for one simple job, no kitchen sink for 5 days I should be entitled to a larger refund which he said he'd relay the message to the boss. Ultimately, a few hours later I received a phone call from Bailey, they agreed to the refund that somewhat satisfied me, it didn't make me happy paying $400 for the job pictured, but they have you and what else can you do? Pros: Quick response, Alyce the night dispatcher was a wonderful person, Dennis the field supervisor fixed the actual job, and they sent out the partial refund check quickly. Cons: Three trucks on three separate days for a very simple job. Two trucks had to leave the job to go to Home Depot to get parts (this makes no sense) Having personally owned businesses with overhead, employees etc, sometimes you have to eat a job here and there to keep your customers happy. In my opinion, after 5 days of nonsense, frustration and aggravation, Bailey should have billed me strictly for the parts they purchased from Home Depot which are only the black and white piping in the photo, they already had the flange. read more

This company contracts with the NJ water company who held my service contract. They were sent to my home by the water company to repair my air conditioning unit. The service tech gets here, says the AC unit is out of freon and not hiding a charge as there is a leak in the AC unit somewhere...then says it will cost 2,000 dollars to locate the leak. He says the system is old and it should be replaced. Thirty mins after he leaves, I get a call from an AC sales person who wants to come and sell me a new unit. I brought in a local handyman person, he hooked Nitrogen into my AC line, located a pin hole leak in 10 mins, soldered the hole and the system was repaired. This company had one intent, sell a new unit and charge all they could. If the service person was experienced, he would have found the leak in less than the 10 mins it took a local handy person. There are so many more knowledgeable AC and plumbers in the area..... read more

I had a very bad experience with Bailey yesterday and no resolution yet. I called Bailey's for A/C certification (condo requirement), the technician (Tom) said the system is not cooling fast and he will fix it. When I asked if it is covered in the service, he didn't answer and all he did was clean the fan ventilation claiming that lot of dirt is accumulated in the fan filter and added refrigerant. He later gave me a bill for $690 for the work, when I challenged him for the bill he started negotiating the price and finally asked me how much I am willing to pay. He demanded a final amount of $308 but the issue is A/C still does not blow cold air. I called Bailey and complained the person I spoke with mentioned that she cannot handle this issue and will escalate it to her supervisor and the supervisor will call us on Sunday but no one called us. We had A. Bailey come because our toilets weren't flushing. Turned out to be a broken pipe in the sewer. A. Bailey quoted us $750 to snake it., before doing the work. We got him down to $578. We later found out that was expensive. But my real issue is with the quote on the work to repair the sewer pipe.. We were quoted $4200. And after speaking with other plumbing companies that was a really HIGH quote. We ended up with a quote of $2800 from another company and were very happy with their work. So I think A. Tried calling a plumber our neighbor recommended, but somehow ended up calling A Bailey. Didn't realize our mistake till later. Plumber arrived on time and fixed our clogged drain. Nice, personable guy too. But... My first issue was the price. This guy is EXPENSIVE! In addition to fixing our clog, he recommended a new trap, so I said fine. It took him all of 5 minutes to install it and he charged us almost $370.00. Difficult to say because the bill wasn't itemized (another red flag). Most expensive trap I saw at hardware store was 40.00. Total bill for clogged drain and trap over $700.00. He did notice some water damage, and he dialed the restoration company and handed me the phone. We probably did need help with the cleanup but this was way too pushy. He said he had no relationship with restoration co but I'm not so sure. So, overall we're happy with the quality of his work but we feel like we got taken for a ride. If you use this company, just make sure you price shop a bit (They charge flat rates for the work). read more

Have a question about the invoice and have called 5 times with the promise someone would call me back. Nothing. They never gave an estimate and the explanation for the charges differed from the line items on the invoice. All the technician kept saying is, "you'd pay twice as much with the competition."
