Hell, they allow me to get my job done…read more I am admittedly techno-retarded and Bill Abner here did a great job of taking care of my needs, even figuring out that the "Batman light thingee" I was referring to was actually called a gobo. Who knew? Super friendly, downright kind service who, more importantly, understand when things may be later than expected or if a rush order is needed. From what I could tell, really reasonable prices to boot. If you're at all in the event world, give these guys a call if you've got sound/AV/lighting needs.

I was in Atlanta to work a symposium for a medical device manufacturer I do work for. They bring…read moretheir own equipment for these shows but when we arrived we didn't have any working projectors. After some digging around for local rental companies we found CollaboCrate. We called and were able to get two replacements quickly and for a fair price. The best part was that we were able to finish rigging everything up while our projectors were delivered to us. CollaboCrate offered support with a 24/7 phone number; while we didn't really need that, it's nice to know that a smaller crew would have some sort of help if they needed it. We worked with a few rental companies when we were getting started and those experiences had pushed us to purchase and maintain our own gear. If we had this kind of attention and ease of rental all the time we would have opted to rent most of our equipment and left the maintenance to someone else. This is how it should be done.

First impressions: Fantastic, Top Shelf, First Class Company…read more In planning my son's upcoming rehearsal dinner, I was tasked with arranging the AV equipment. I started my search well in advance of the event (6 months) to be sure everything was in place. An online search for AV rentals in my area brought me to Liquid AV. Really a first class outfit. Cost of AV equipment at the venue was prohibitive for me. I found Liquid AV's prices to be very competitive. Well below using the equipment vendors at the venue. I made a point to call Zach directly to be sure he would be able to handle my needs and to get a handle on his operation. I was impressed with his knowledge to accurately assess my needs based on the size of the room and the number of people attending. Conversations and follow up e-mails were promptly addressed. A deposit held the date and exactly 1 month out, as promised, I received an e-mail confirming the contract, cleaning up the final details of venue address, start time, show time for set up, etc. I elected to go with the large screen (10') and audio package. Again, I was very impressed. All the equipment was top notch, in brand new condition, and worked flawlessly. The projector set up in a behind the screen configuration gave plenty of room for the tables out in front. Cables, speaker stands, all was arranged for a clean clutter free look. Zach and his technician, Cody, stayed on site to monitor operation. In addition, Zach brought some additional up lighting effects that were used along the outside edges of the room. I'd have to give Liquid AV 5 stars if I were rating them. I will be recommending them to anyone I know that has need of this type of service. I can only see his business growing with the customer service he provided me throughout the experience. Jim Cirilli

I returned the lens back a few days earlier just because I wasn't going to be able to bring it back on the due date, and they refunded for the days I'm not using it for, so that was really cool. I was expecting to eat the cost! I definitely will be renting from them again.

So now, when I plan to travel somewhere I will rent lenses (sometimes cameras, too) from Aperturent. To pack light, so I don't pay airline baggage fees, I rent the 24-240 Sony zoom lens. So I don't have to take the 20-70 and 70-300 lenses (which take up bag space) with me. I can slide my 'personal item' (small bag) under the seat in front of me. Yes, renting the lens can be cheaper than paying a baggage fee in both directions. When I want to photograph planes or bird, I rent the Sony 200-600 (a heavy beast of a lens). You must rent for a minimum of three days. But since they don't charge for the weekend, I can pick up a rental late Wednesday and keep it until Monday close of business (thus getting five days for the cost of three). Here are some Toronto Canada photos I took with the rented 24-240 lens.

BEWARE WHEN RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY. They have very shady business practices. They changed what…read morethey were giving to us without telling us and told us the items we needed wouldn't be ready until the next day after they had already charged us almost $3000. The only option they gave us was to add more items to our order the next day when they were available (more money). They claimed they sent us a rental agreement (they didn't) and will not accept an early return because "they went out of their way for us" even though they charged us almost $300 in late service fees already. Never once have I rented from a rental house that conducts business this way. I would give them 0 stars if possible.
