I returned the lens back a few days earlier just because I wasn't going to be able to bring it back on the due date, and they refunded for the days I'm not using it for, so that was really cool. I have two Sony E mount cameras. However, the cost of lenses beyond my two small zoom lenses is prohibitive. So now, when I plan to travel somewhere I will rent lenses (sometimes cameras, too) from Aperturent. To pack light, so I don't pay airline baggage fees, I rent the 24-240 Sony zoom lens. So I don't have to take the 20-70 and 70-300 lenses (which take up bag space) with me. I can slide my 'personal item' (small bag) under the seat in front of me. Yes, renting the lens can be cheaper than paying a baggage fee in both directions. When I want to photograph planes or bird, I rent the Sony 200-600 (a heavy beast of a lens). You must rent for a minimum of three days. But since they don't charge for the weekend, I can pick up a rental late Wednesday and keep it until Monday close of business (thus getting five days for the cost of three). Above and beyond they are very helpfull if you have a trouble. I rented the Canon 7D mark II to tether shoot to the capture one. I wanted to make sure it tethered to my computer before I walk out with my rental. There I had a trouble connecting the camera to the software. They tried very hard to figure out why and took some time to trouble shoot with me which I really appreciate, in the end it turned out my version of capture one was a version too old to cennect to the camera. Needed the upgrade on my software. I do appreciate extra miles that they put it in to problem solve. read more

You should know: Next to McDonalds, across the street from Dunkin Donuts. At intersection of Roswell Rd and Sandy Springs Place in a building that says Signature Bank. I may not be an instruction-reader or recipe-follower, but I always map out where I'm going if I have the slightest insecurity about the best way to get there. That being said: I was not sure where this place was. It was not obvious and there's no sign that I could see stating Aperturent or the number of the address. It's in a big building that says Signature Bank on it, and it's on the 5th floor. Look at the photo of the building here on Yelp (I uploaded a pic, too) before you go, and you'll have an easier time finding it. What a cool service. I am totally into the concept of renting photo/video equipment now. I'm converted!! How did I get here? I participated in the Ridiculous Obstacle Course 5k for the first time, and I thought filming the experience with a Go Pro would motivate me to do better "for the camera." :) I decided this on Friday evening, though, the night before the run, so I wasn't sure what I'd be able to make happen. I turned to my friends online, and got a few rental suggestions. A pro photographer friend recommended Aperturent. I checked out the website and prices, and already was impressed because #1 it was cheaper than the one other website I looked at AND #2 they are open on Saturday mornings. Score! I picked out what I wanted to use: the Go Pro HD HERO 2 and the Chest Mount Harness. I picked out what time I wanted to pick up - 10:30am on Saturday. I ended up getting there closer to 10am, but it was no problem. READ: The one piece of important ADVICE I can give you is this.. DON'T ASSUME they know why you're renting this equipment, and that you know what you're doing (if you don't.) I asked if it was pretty easy to put together and wear, which led to them asking me a few questions including "Do you have an SD card?" To which, I said, Nope! So I added that onto my rental. It would not have been fun to get to the race and realize I had nothing to record the video - I didn't even think about it! Then I asked them about the battery and told them I was hoping it'd last about an hour. They said the normal battery would not really last that long, so they upgraded my battery power (no charge) and because of that, put a new back on the case - which made it water proof... which I thought I already had covered. Anyway, I had this from Sat AM to Tuesday (return by 5:30 close time) which was actually 4 days because they're closed on Sunday.. but it's a 3-day rental, and I only paid about $50 after tax. I thought it was a really good deal considering what I used it for, and the fun I had. $50 to rent the following for 3 days: GoPro Chest Mount Harness - $8.10 GoPro HD HERO 2 with Insurance - $20.70 Lexar 32GB 400X UHS-I SD Card - $18.00 GoPro Battery BacPac - No charge Great company.. I would definitely recommend them.. and I'm looking forward to using them again! read more

Whenever I want to rent lens I try to stay local and help our local businesses. But Aperturent feels the need to charge us a arm and leg just for a few day rental. The prices online looks good until they hit you with a $700 deposit on a $600 lens for a 5 day rental! Imagine going to enterprise to rent a car and they tell you the deposit is $20k for a weekend rental. I will stick to renting lens online. You guys should be ashamed of your self. I am very happy with my first experience with Aperturent. I live in Atlanta about 7 minutes away from their office. Previously I have rented from competitors online that ship to me, and the experience was fine. But finding a local place that allowed me to save money on shipping and luckily is super close is awesome. I found their selection on their website to be extensive and the prices are very fair. Perfectly in line with the competition. The website is easy to navigate with great pictures and descriptions. At about 3pm one afternoon I placed an order for a Nikon 35mm f1.4g. This is about a $1600 lens and I was able to rent it for $80 for a week. And Sunday doesn't count so it was an 8 day rental. After completing the simple online forms, I pretty quickly got an email asking for some verification documents. I just had to send a pic of my ID and my credit card. Totally fair since I am renting a $1600 piece of gear. Within 10 minutes I received an email verifying that the verification process was complete and I could get the lens anytime before 5:30p. I headed over. It was easy to find in a small office tower in Sandy Springs. Parking was plentiful. Took an elevator ride to floor three and quickly found their suite. Once I entered I was impressed with the appearance of the lobby. A lady immediately greeted me. It took all of 2 minutes for her to retrieve my order, allow me to inspect the lens, check my ID, and I was on my way. My wife dropped off the lens and had an equally easy time. I don't rent a ton of gear as I am not a pro, but when I need something for my photography passion there is zero doubt that I will go to Aperturent next. I have been looking for a local lens rental shop for quite some time and stumbled across Aperturent through an internet search. After subsequently following-up with Yelp reviews, I decided I'd go with them to rent a few lenses for a European trip. The details of the order do not matter, but the stellar customer service I received do matter, but that is not to say that I did not receive top of the line lenses for my Digital SLR body, because I did. Prior to renting, Carlos noticed the contents of my initial order and reached out to me to make sure I had all lens-type bases covered. I had rented a telephoto zoom and a macro lens, and he wanted to ensure that I had my wide angle lens covered. He made a suggestion and I added that lens to my original order. About two days prior to picking up my order from their Roswell Road location, Carlos contacted me to see if I wanted a higher quality telephoto lens that had recently become available. I came down to Georgia to visit and document some family history for a video archive to be stored for future gens. I looked up 5 rental facilities and decided on Aperturent because the rates were fair and we planned on going to that awesome Papadeux restaurant in that area the same day. Easy parking, service was great, not too long of a wait. I did a visual check to make sure all the accessories were there and in good shape, but when I went to use the camera I found that the autofocus doesn't work well with the zoom function anymore. So one of my scenes didn't look so hot when using those functions together. The last user must not have relayed that to the company but I made sure to do so. read more

I'm glad everyone else had great customer service with this company, but sadly I cannot say the same. I scheduled a lens pick-up for 2pm on Saturday. My mistake, I didn't realize they closed at 12:30, but no one from the company had the courtesy to let me know that they would not be there at 2. Oh, until 12:30 when they closed, I got a call. Well, thanks, it was a little late by then. If someone had told me sooner, I could have changed my plans to pick up sooner. Don't allow someone to schedule a 2 o'clock pick-up if you're not going to be there!!!! Do doctor's offices make appointments for times when they're closed? Do restaurants take reservations for times when they're closed? NO. WHY SCHEDULE MY PICK UP IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE THERE?!? When I talked to them on the phone the next week the woman on the phone was incredibly rude! She was completely unapologetic and took no responsibility. Heads up, you must reserve the equipment online ahead of time. This may be a given for some, but as someone who lives in Atlanta and prefers to conduct business in person, I decided to go directly to their offices to rent a lens for my Nikon. When I got to the office, I learned that all orders must be placed online ahead of time. The young woman at the front desk offered to let me use their laptop and place my order. She then advised me that it would take a couple hours for the verification process. I suppose this is understandable, and even though I don't live in the area, I could have made arrangements to come back to the office once my order was ready. The main problem was this woman's attitude. She seemed this interested in assisting me. I was sitting across from her asking specific questions about the rentals, and she could hardly turn away from her computer to answer my questions. When she didn't answer my questions, they were basic one word responses, and sometimes she didn't even look at me WHILE she was talking to me! It's also worth mentioning that she perked right up once the Chinese food delivery man walked through the door. She was way more attentive to him. I ended up walking out without placing an order. I believe everyone deserves a second chance, so I will likely try to rent from them and again, but this experience has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I'll just note to place my order online ahead of time next time. The only reason I'm even going through all the trouble is because their rates are very reasonable and their catalog of equipment is extensive. read more

After reading reviewed and exploring their webpage, and there is nothing complicated about it, I found the desired lens. The ordering process is easy. I rented this Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens as an additional and backup lens to my Canon L series lens on my Canon 7D. I am not sure what was wrong with this lens but it had a very hard time focusing.
