Although I have been a patient with this firm for decades, I am treated as a profit center rather than as a person. Every time I go for appointments, I am seen by a different technician or doctor. I feel like a cog in their machine. On my last visit I was scolded by a dentist, "You sure have a lot of crowns. You better floss those daily." A. I already do so. B. The crowns were dental procedures I received at your office. C. Would it be better if I had no teeth? The firm has lots of policies to convenience THEM: Pay before you receive treatment. The owner of the firm doesn't return calls. I recently called for an appointment because of a chipped tooth, a problem that the office had previously treated and had reoccurred. I explained my needs to the office staff and asked for a morning appointment as soon as possible. I was given an appointment in a couple of days, but the day before it was to occur it was cancelled by them without explanation. When I called to find out why, the office staff told me that they had made a mistake. "The doctor only does exams at that appointment time, and you need a filling." MY MISTAKE: I thought the DENTIST, NOT THE RECEPTIONIST would examine me and determine what procedure was required?? I was then offered an afternoon appointment (Did they not pay attention to my request for a morning appointment?) When I complained about this, I was told it would be more than a week before I could see someone in the morning. She then referred to me as "Dear". I am not her "Dear", nor do I want to be spoken to in a patronizing manner. I am going to look for another provider.

Their pricing is nothing short of predatory. Routine procedures here cost nearly double what you'd pay elsewhere. Worse, they deliberately run up insurance claims to maximize what you pay out of pocket. Case in point: I was quoted over $6,000 for a dental implant--after already paying $1,800 for a simple tooth extraction. Combined, that's nearly twice the going rate at reputable dental offices. And at no point did anyone disclose they were out of network--a crucial detail they conveniently omitted until I questioned their outrageous fees. The manager's smug response? "The doctor's fees are the doctor's fees." Translation: We charge whatever we want, take it or leave it. Sure, Dr. Perez may be a skilled dentist and the staff might be friendly--but let's be clear: friendliness doesn't excuse exploitative billing or deceptive business practices. Don't be fooled by the glowing reviews; behind the smiles lies a practice that prioritizes profit over patients. Stay far, far away.

That type of character and honesty is so rare, and I found it at Westchase Dentistry. I just had 2 root canals, versus Implants recommended by my Periodontist, I was told crowns were the next step. I saw Westchase Dentistry great reviews and thought I'd use him to do the crowns. He explained that unfortunately I lacked enough tooth after the root canal to make the crown work for any great length of time. Wow, honestly! He said that the root canal plastic could last almost as long if I had the crowns and if I behaved and took care of my teeth and gums I could hopefully postpone the Implants that probably should have been done---which I did not want. I'm going to switch dentist and have my teeth cleaned at Westchase Dental from now on, that was I'll know that when I'm told something needs to be done I'll be confident it's necessary and not some sort of money grab.

I have sleep apnea and wanted some type of mouth guard and they seemed to be a best fit based on all my research. When I came in, I scheduled during my lunch hour, and it was less than 5 minutes from the office. I loved that I got a notification reminder week of and hour before, as sometimes I tend to lose track of time. I entered into a bright lobby and was greeted promptly (by name!!!) and was checked in. The wait time wasn't long, just a couple of minutes and the dental assistant guided me back to the room. Walking through the halls, have such great lighting, great for a photo!! lol, but entered in the room, chair was super comfy and they have a tv on the chair so you are distracted for whatever dental cause brought you in! Great for those that don't like the dentist! Dr. McRay came in after getting all checked in and asked me about my sleep study and helped review over all the information in the results and explained in great detail what he was able to offer and provide me and how he is different from other devices that are used out in the industry. I was really happy with how knowledgeable he was, as well as the staff, and making me feel super comfortable with my choice and confident in moving forward. He explained all the costs upfront and what all the costs entailed, which I left feeling even more confident that I'd made the right choice. I left and took some time to think it all through and before I knew it, I was scheduling my follow up to get fitted for my mouth guard. The cool thing about their process includes some breathing tests so that they know how to make adjustments to the mouth guard and make it truly fitted for you. They sent everything off and received back in two weeks. Night one, I noticed such a huge difference in how I slept and woke up feeling so rested and less groggy. It's amazing what one thing could do to change your entire sleep cycle. It's been a few weeks now, and still loving it. I had a follow up with Dr. McRay and he is just a dream and so is the team! I've had such a great experience with them, and looking forward to future visits! Who knew you could say that about a dentist!

He informed me that the pain would go away once the new crown arrived. The new crown arrived and I informed him that I had to re-order additional antibiotic mouthwash and my tooth was still in pain. He insisted that everything will be fine once He inserted the new crown. I was very reluctant to have the new crown place over my aching tooth. I could have filed a complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. I just hope that this negative experience will make Dr. H realize that he must have more respect in listening to his female patients, in lieu of focusing on the remuneration he will receive by inserting a new crown.
