If you are looking for a coffee house with bad coffee and rude waiters that talk behind your back,…read morethen this is your place. Please keep in mind that I grew up in Vienna and this used to be my favorite coffee house. Yes, the atmosphere is interesting and original (and hasn't been updated in decades), so if you want to experience that just walk inside and take a look. But don't stay too long or they will yell at you. They also don't want groups of more than 5 people. You also can't pay with credit cards. It's really a shame, this place had potential but ruined by greedy and shortsighted management as well mostly rude waiters (the Dutch guy is nice and ok). I recommend some of the other good coffee houses, like Cafe Schwarzenberg or Frauenhuber.

That turned out to be a good sign. Come hungry. Very hungry. All our portions were massive. A pork loin split open and filled (ham and some vegetables if I recall), then breaded and fried. Everything was very tasty and inexpensive. I would come back here again.
