Near our hotel was this dark, long place, furnished like it was the middle ages. Or the middle 1970s, perhaps. Mostly locals were here, in the middle of a touristy part of town. That turned out to be a good sign.
Come hungry. Very hungry. All our portions were massive. I ordered the Grandfather's schnitzel and I think Grandfather must have died of a heart attack because it was elephantine. A pork loin split open and filled (ham and some vegetables if I recall), then breaded and fried.
Everything was very tasty and inexpensive.
I would come back here again. Except for it being 5880 miles away. read more
