Die Mittagsmenüs sind jedenfalls gut und preiswert. Das Service schwankt in der Qualität, aber alle sind jedenfalls bemüht und freundlich.

I have never come across anything like this in the UK and I love it!!!…read more Get a few of your friends together and head down to Brot & Spiele for a night of boardgame fun and beer! The concept is simple: reserve a table for you and your mates, choose a boardgame (they even have retro ones!) and play the night away. Very cool. For me it beats partying in Vienna. Remember the instructions will be in German so if you don't speak the language best play it safe and pick a game you're sure you remember how to play! We made that mistake and ended up making up our own rules to Cluedo...We laughed a lot. They serve bar snacks like "brot" which is toasted bread with toppings kind of like a "toastie" to you Brits. I really like the service as well, the guy was cool and spoke English to us recommending beers and other drinks to us. Looking forward to going back - If I was you I'd reserve a table. Not sure about a weeknight but we went on a Saturday and it was full.

To be honest, before I actually went there, I expected that this will be a place for nerds who…read morespend their days playing games (the Big Bang Theory style), I was soooo wrong, because I realised that this is a perfectly normal bar, just with the nice addition of loads of games. My highlight of the evening - after playing a few board games, I realised that there is also a possibilty to play table football in a hidden corner :) The one and only bartender/waiter was very nice, but I had a feeling that she was a bit overwhelmed by the crowds in the bar (one more staff memember would be nice). Also sometimes it was tricky for her to bring people their food orders, since the place can get very full and it is not always easy to pass everyone with a bowl of soup or other dishes without dropping something on the floor... .. But this is of course not the waiter's fault, it's just that it can be a bit tight sometimes.

After several nights in Vienna without having tried schnitzel, I was on a mission to find an…read moreauthentic spot on my last night here. Found this cozy spot a few blocks off the Stadtpark and figured I'd give it a shot. So glad I did. it was pretty packed when we got ther, we were able to get a high top table after just a few minutes wait. Ordered the beef tartare and schnitzel. Be forewarned, they don't skimp on the portions here. The tartare was delicious and came with a salad and about a half of stick of butter, which was interesting. Schnitzel was big enough to feed at least two people and left me feeling like I had finally experienced a real local meal. Wine was also great and made me wish I could have stayed there drinking it all night. But alas, I had an early flight to catch the next day...

Quite tight seating. Restrooms are not accessible by people with limited mobility. No baby changing stations. The food is okay. The schnitzel was fine and so was lamb. Okay to eat but not memorable. Caprese salad was tasty. In conclusion, if you are passing by and hungry, feel free to stop by. If you are looking for a memorable lunch/dinner experience, plan to visit a different establishment.
