So this employee that was working tonight was wearing really short shorts that her butt cheeks were kinda hanging out unprofessionally...however what grossed me out...is when she kept like wiping her hands across her butt cheeks to see if her butt is sticking out which is was lol so then she would be fixing her shorts to hide her butt cheeks and she's touching snow cones with all her booty germs... maybe she shouldn't wear such short shorts if she's gonna be touching her booty all the time. Years ago Bucks was the place for snow cones!! Used to go a lot. I don't know what changed exactly. Maybe they're trying to cut expenses? But the ice is definitely a different taste- we call it tap water flavor --almost salty. And I've tried several different flavors and they are all almost tasteless.... Which leaves the tap water. I miss the fresh ice and sweet flavors of the years past. Try one of the different local places instead. ( sadly unless it's winter w no option). read more

This place is usually pretty good and snow cones are always the best you can get. Typically they fill them with more juice than anywhere else and layer the cream or topping into the snow cone. The past few times have been disappointing. The most recent time we came this week makes me want to take a long break from our regular trips here for desserts. When I got my snow cone there was a layer of cream on top, and aside from the very top, the snow cone was missing a lot of juice and didn't have any cream throughout the snow cone like normal. I went and asked them to put a little bit more juice in since it was mostly just ice, and the girl gave me an excuse that they are told to leave the bottom inch of the cup empty. That's not a big deal except for the fact that there was no juice throughout the entire cup. It was a lot of just regular ice with no flavor and no cream mixed in. The snow cones here are already more expensive then anywhere else but when you charge a dollar for cream and then all you get is a small splash of cream on the very top, it's a rip off. Plus $4.69 for a snow cone with half the ice missing juice, it makes you think twice on coming back, especially when the local snow cone shops charge less for a bigger size and more juice. I love Bahama Bucks and the snow cones but I really hope this place goes back to how it used to be. Too many employees playing around behind the counter now and management doesn't seem to have much control on the employees or how they make the snow cones anymore. read more

There's not a whole lot to do in Amarillo, TX but every time I'm here I've got to get me some shaved ice. Bahama Bucks makes a delicious snow cone. I love the Dreamsicle which is a creamy orange mountain of deliciousness. Don't be fooled- the small is actually humongous! The dome-shaped top to your dessert is probably just as tall as the cup that it's in. Your snow cone comes complete with a little umbrella, making you feel like you've somehow escaped this black hole of Amarillo. My only complaint is that a small runs you 2.99, which for shaved ICE seems a little steep. They are probably making a huge profit off these buggers. But the bahama-style location makes it a cool place for local teens to hang out. If you're in town, make it a point to stop by! read more

The shaved ice is amazing! They have tons of flavors!! The sugar free options also taste really good too!! The cups are packed with ice, it's not a rip off at all! The cups are so big too! You get your money's worth!! The only thing is that the place is kinda messy, with little bit of trash on the floor & not all the empty booths clean; although we got here right after peak hours. The reason behind my two stars comes from disappointment and confusion. I ordered sugar free strawberry flavored with spicy powder Something that I gotten before at a different location and was amazing. Here I get this, with pickles, still gave it a shot, after getting past the first few pickles it was decent. Once I reached the flat surface I find yet more pickles!!! I'm just at a lost for words. Haven't been here in a while and it sounded good. Big mistake! Waited forever in line which is very frustrating when you are paying nearly $5 a gallon for gas. Saw a huge group go inside while we were waiting and saw them walking across the parking lot with their orders just as we were finally about to order. When we got to the window there were 4 employees horsing around inside while we were waiting to order. We finally ordered 2 smalls and when we got home the entire bottom half was just ice and hardly any flavor on what wasn't just ice. So, we will not be doing this again.
