I will start this by saying I am not a big fan of Caribbean food but saw they had burgers and pasta on the menu I set a dinner for the dining group. I wished that I had stayed with my plan for a burger because the spinach and artichoke dip was on the thinner side and not even near my average. The side salad with ginger dressing must have came with peanut dressing since it was too spicy. The pineapple pound cake that I was saving room for had to have the rum sauce put on again for it to light and ended up too rummy. The coconut shrimp I got to try was the best I have had. My table mates did like their choices. The service was slow and not around to check on us enough. The place did have a happy feel and the music wasn't too loud. Plenty of parking. I don't think I will come back.

I hate that so many of these locations are going out of business. It's such a nice restaurant, large and spacious. The vibe is very tropical and makes you think for a moment that you're away. The service was quick and friendly. Happy hour was fun. The food is fresh and delicious and not too expensive.

Having been here once before, there's a natural expectation of things. What we didn't expect was a broken air conditioner when it was 93° outside. A few colleagues and I came in for dinner last night. A few of us ate here before so we kind of knew what to expect. Our server was very friendly. She made some recommendations for appetizers and entrées. We took her recommendation on the appetizer and went with the Firecracker shrimp. We were forewarned that this is a spicy/hot dish. Yes it is. It' came pretty quickly (about five minutes). yes indeed it was spicy. They give you a generous portion so if you get the large one, figure 4 or more people would have plenty each to share. Two of us went with the fish tacos. Both got it blackened, and both liked the meal. I went with the grilled salmon. The salmon was OK, not fishy, but not super tasteful either. Don't know what they put on top of it, but that didn't help. The side dishes included, steamed broccoli and.rice. You don't get much broccoli, but it was good. You get plenty of rice and that was OK. One of their specialties is the margarita. We tried that. It was one called the dragon and it was pretty sweet tasting.

I went there for the second time this month. Great place to eat before going to the movies theater in the same parking lot. This time I ordered their new dinner menu item which was a wonderful beef tenderloin and four pieces of coconut shrimp. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Asparagus and thick cut French fries were served as side dishes. Our waitress was extremely nice and made sure we got out in time for the movie. The manager came over to check on our meal, which we raved about. We sat in a nice both near other couples out on a Friday night.

Been coming here for yearsss! Food is pretty good. Flavorful. Drinks ok not enough liquor in them. Wings were good. Service is always amazing! This location is always clean and beautifully decorated.

Restaurant is currently understaffed, we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table even though it was fairly empty. Ambiance was nice, fun tropical vibes. Food was okay, nothing stood out. Virgin pina coladas were decent. Waitstaff was good, attentive. Everything was fine, nothing special.

Came for the bar to get appetizers and drinks, ordered spinach and artichoke dip ( not very good). I did not eat the appetizer, the drinks were good. I wasn't too sure about the receipts being in/on drinks but maybe that's normal . The waiter was very nice/attentive and the scenery inside is beautiful giving island vibes.

We arrived around 3pm on a Friday. Once we got seated, it took 14 minutes for someone to come over. The lady who came in behind us sat at the bar and had her drinks and food before we even ordered. The bartender was also our server ( we were not seated in the bar), and while there were ten ish patrons in the entire restaurant, we got very little service. I ordered the jerk Mahi, which tasted very good, but it was the smallest piece of Mahi I've ever had in a restaurant. As much as we typically like Bahama Breeze, the SE michigan locations do not hit the mark and we will only visit the southern states locations.

Service was very good. The tequila sunburn salmon was excellent. The mashed sweet potatoes had great flavor. I would get this again.

This was an excellent meal starting with a great drink. Dani, my waitress was outstanding being attentive but not overly. The ambiance is wonderful with the outdoor seating was perfect for the wonderful weather evening.

We both had a bourbon cream hot cocoa. It was barely like warm. Marshmallows were toasted nicely on my drink and pretty burnt on the other (I wouldn't have minded burnt marshmallows). The food was just meh... the Yuletide Boursin dip with garlic Parmesan puffs was ok. The "puffs" were fairly heavy and dense. There was far more marinara sauce than anything else. The pesto on top of the marinara sauce was delicious. I would recommend skipping the Maple Bourbon Chicken and Waffles. The waffle was so dry. The applewood bacon was the best part of the dish. The chicken was a bit overcooked, so it was also dry. The good gravy skillet was "peppery" according to my friend - which is literally in the description. She felt it was too peppery. The "over easy" egg was way over cooked! It was over-hard at best. The kicker was when our server asked us if we wanted more water and poured less than a half glass each of water - which was about 3 sips. (And yes, the water pitcher was full, she could have easily filled our glasses). I will add - the hostess was a delight! She greeted us as soon as we walked in, sat us promptly, and told us to enjoy our meals.

The bartender passed by me no less than a dozen times, never stopping once to check in. She busied herself with socializing with the locals at the tables, but couldn't offer a simple check in to see if I liked my food or needed anything else. Before that, my tip was going to be 30%, which is standard. By the time I left, it dropped down to just under 20%. She was not even deserving of that, but I am a decent guy. As I walked out, I expected a parting greeting from the bartender who was at another table. Nothing. As I passed by the host, I expected another greeting. Nothing. From Retro Bliss to Corporate Miss - 1Up's New Management Hits Rock Bottom…read more.. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. 1Up Arcade Bar, once my go-to haven for arcade nostalgia and friendly vibes, has devolved into a shell of its former self. Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.
