Before we visited Ponta Delgada, we visited Lisbon, and we had the pastel de nata (egg custard tart) which we loved. So while strolling down the street, I noticed this place sold bakery items, so I thought I would check it out. First thing I noticed was a sign on the counter with a picture of the pastel de nada and a small cup of espresso for 1€. The pastry was very good, and still warm. Taste was almost identical to the one I had in Lisbon. (individual pastel de nata was 80 cents) This was my first cup of espresso, and I could only manage one little sip. Much to powerful for me. They offered free WiFi, which we used and worked good. They had fresh squeezed orange juice. I noticed several people buying sandwiches and soup. Great find. Short walk from the cruise pier. read more
