My kids and I love coming here to play the games. The owner is so nice, it's clean, we never come away empty handed.

They have these nice hard-card wallets that are customizable and expensive and look like they can endure a war. lol The shop owner was so cool and talked to us the entire time we were there. Several weeks ago I was on my way to San Diego and stopped at Javaman for some coffee before the…read morelong road trip. Upon getting out of my car at Javaman I saw this store 'Wicked.' I looked in the window and saw bikes, skateboards, clothing, iced tea, and ecofriendly attachments for your Iphone. I looked deeper into the store and observed a very cool shirt which had a multicolored fish next to a multicolored fish surfboard and thought it was worth me coming back when the store was open to check out exactly what this store had to offer. Yesterday (11-23-2012) I found myself again at Javaman and this time 'Wicked' was open. I walked in and observed all of their clothing to be preshrunk organic cotton. I asked the gentleman behind the cash register if they still had the shirt I was looking at several weeks ago, he said they did but the only size left was a medium and I needed a large. I still tried on the shirt in the bathroom / changing room and discovered it to just be a little too small and with a price tag of $39.00 a shirt has got to fit me perfect for me to invest that much coin on a shirt. The cashier said the shirt I wanted was out of stock and they could not order anymore which was a disappointment but quite honestly I am not sure I would have paid $39.00 for a t-shirt even if they had my size. I walked around the store and checked out several other items they had to offer from books on surfing, to ecofriendly shoes & sandals, I did not find anything that I felt the urge to buy. I thanked the cashier for his time and left. This store is located right next to Javaman & a Jiu-Jitsu studio on Pier. The store itself is quite small and too darn close to the beach to be finding any kind of discount. I hope more stores like this pop up here & there but this close to the water you are paying for the overhead to keep the lights on and I have to give this place a pass. I might be back if I am at Javaman and looking to kill time but other than those circumstances chances are this was the first & last time I walk in the door. With saying the above, if you are Xmas shopping for that Ecofriendly person this might be a spot you want to check out they have it all and when I mean it all, I mean IT ALL. I am giving this place 4 Stars instead of 3 because they are a local business that is Ecofriendly, if this review was solely based on the prices it would be 3 stars.

This is more of a retro vintage store and what makes this place different is that they don't just collect donations, the owner actually hits the road sometimes and brings back really cool finds from other areas. There are a ton of really stylish, funky, colorful artsy pieces to bring flair to your life or you! There are tons of goodies to help you communicate your vibe! I love stepping into the store getting lost in the retro gems mixed with the nostalgic inner child funtastic finds! They also had some sunny yard artwork outside! I can't wait to go back!

Unfortunately, the checkout experience left me feeling disappointed. A couple prices being adjusted on the spot is understandable, but having tags removed and being quoted significantly higher prices felt uncomfortable and unexpected. One used purse was priced close to (or above) what I could purchase it for new at a regular retail store, and it wasn't a vintage item. It genuinely hurt to leave the items behind because I loved what I found. I just couldn't move forward with pricing that felt inconsistent. I hope the shop can work toward more transparent pricing, as it really is a lovely space with so much potential.

You get the idea, it is the kind of place where you always find something interesting. Sure, you can probably find similar items online for a few dollars less, but that is not the point. It feels good to shop in person, take your time, and pick out something meaningful for a loved one instead of just opening another Amazon box. I picked up a Manhattan Beach puzzle for my in-laws and a California dish towel for a friend who moved to the East Coast to be closer to her children, both made for really thoughtful, personal gifts. The store has a warm, well-curated feel, and the employees have always been friendly and helpful. I love this shop and am happy to support a great local small business. Places like this are what make the neighborhood feel like a community. 5 stars for me.

They weren't running around, making a mess, or being disruptive in any way. We were all simply browsing the store like normal paying customers. So when an employee came up and told our kids to put the plushies back, it honestly made no sense. If customers can't hold onto items while they shop, maybe that should be posted somewhere. We didn't make a scene -- we just left. But the interaction felt unnecessary, unwelcoming, and honestly pretty off-putting. A decent-sized store should probably know how basic shopping works.
