My insurance says no. I requested a cleaning that is covered by insurance. In a bait and switch, I was told I had to have a "deep cleaning". I was not informed the "deep cleaning" is not covered. My insurance tells me there is no dental diagnosis that is called a "deep cleaning". It is actually called a periodontal scaling and root planing. Had I been told this, I would have recognized it as not preventive and therefore, not covered. I was billed $600.75. For a procedure not done by a dentist that took less than an hour. This dental office needs some training in full disclosure of costs to patients.

You should be able to do more for the pain. That's what pain killers are for. I should not have to go through all this just to get a little bit of comfort. Just because some people decide to kill themselves by being stupid with drugs that they aren't supposed to take doesn't mean I should being going through all this. When I first started going there, the staff was attentive and caring. Over time, however, I felt they became more focused on making money than providing quality patient care. Their attitude became arrogant, and the level of care declined significantly. This week, I went in for a routine dental cleaning. The hygienist immediately started taking X-rays without greeting me or explaining what she was doing. I had already had a full set of X-rays during my previous visit, so I asked whether they were really necessary. I also asked if I needed a protective lead apron. She seemed irritated and replied, "You don't need it, but you can have it anyway." She then continued taking the X-rays. After that, the dentist came in, examined my teeth for about five minutes, and left. The hygienist then used a water flosser and told me I was finished. There was no actual cleaning, no polishing, no scaling, and no discussion about scheduling my next cleaning. I expressed my concerns to the front desk before leaving. Unfortunately, no one apologized or addressed my concerns. They told me someone from the front office would call me, but I never received a call. I also had a root canal and crown done at this clinic. After the crown was placed, I experienced severe pain. When I returned two days later, they told me the crown had not been aligned properly and corrected it. While I appreciated that they fixed the issue, I was disappointed that there was no apology for the inconvenience and pain I experienced. Because of these experiences, I will never return to this clinic. One of my coworkers also had a disappointing experience. He told me that the office called him just 30 minutes before his appointment to cancel it. I'm surprised that a clinic built its reputation on its patients but now seems to show so little respect and care for them. In my opinion, patient care has declined significantly, and I can no longer recommend this practice.
