The scheduling system is easy to use. And the communication between the Breast Center and the physician's office is great. I had my routine annual mammogram and physical, the mammogram results were with Dr. Hirsch within a day. It's great not to have to wait for results. And mist importantly, Dr. Hirsch has a great bedside manner. I have never waited long in the exam room, and she is engaging. She's clearly very intelligent but in the most friendly manner. She is thorough and careful. I feel like I get great care and I never feel like she's rushing, even though I am aware that her practice is quite busy.

They are rarely late for appointments and although there have been a couple times the doc has had to deliver a baby so my appointment has to get changed, they are always prompt with communication. Lastly-and most important- I mentioned she has delivered two of my babies. They were c-section but she was totally willing for me to try a VBAC after my first c-section with a previous doctor. She didnt brush it off, but dug into my family history to see if it could have been something serious. I had some testing done that ended up not being covered by insurance. Her staff worked very hard to get insurance to adjust the bill. In the end, after many many hours of hard work from her staff, and many many faxes later, I was able to get the bill dramatically reduced. I brought them flowers to show my gratitude. The experience was pretty awful! Due to the size of the mass that they had to remove, my incision was 7 inches long. The anesthesiologist didn't know what he was doing. I don't know where he was trained, but common sense says that you don't want a patient with a fresh incision down the abdomen to be nauseous and vomiting in recovery. I will never forget the torture of those 20 minutes of retching in the recovery room! I would retch, then scream, retch, then scream for 20 AGONIZING MINUTES! It felt like I was being ripped open inch by inch! His name isn't on any of the paperwork, which is rather suspicious... The nurses that took care of me for the next three days were AMAZING, though! They were wonderful and helped to make the whole wretched experience bearable!

The nurses- both day and Night Shift were friendly, engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. Same goes for the doctor we saw in triage before my doctor arrived. Add to that, the cleaning staff were also so personable and helpful. They give great tours in advance so you're comfortable for when you arrive for delivery. They answer all your questions, show you where you'll be and talk about what to expect. They also make notes of your birth plan or preferences so they know in advance. Also, this hospital has amazing food. Seriously. I ate every chance I got haha they told me each delivery would happen "within an hour" however we normally received it in 10 minutes or less. What a friendly, peaceful place to bring your new baby into the world.
