I received automated phone calls that gave the 1-800 number in like 20 seconds without repeating the number. In my experience, Optum Indiana's scheduling process was shockingly unprofessional. I completed all intake forms, had multiple doctors send records, and prepared for weeks--only to be told two hours before my appointment that I would not be seen. The scheduler, spoke to me in a condescending way during our initial call, and the office manager later cancelled the visit citing vague "notes." I was medically fragile and urgently needed care, and this last-minute cancellation delayed treatment by months. I hope leadership reviews these practices--patients deserve respect, clear communication, and timely access to care. read more

Generally, I am relatively satisfied with the service here. I have had one hiccup before in service, but not enough to give a negative review. But today, I am not very happy...at all. My daughter received the series of meningitis shots prior to starting college. The first one at their office; the second at Walgreens because they did not have an appointment open for her for the second one. Walgreens posted on the state website; updating the vaccination as they should have. My daughter goes in for a check-up yesterday, and comes back with a bandaid on her arm; a "meningitis" vaccination she "needed". I was beside myself; her vaccinations are up to date on the state website...but someone didn't take the time to check it. Unfortunately, she is home sick as a dog from this overvaccination; fever, nausea/vomiting, sore back. When the practitioner's nurse called me back, she wasn't even really nice about it AT ALL. No real apology, nothing. Just insurance that it is NO BIG DEAL and it won't hurt her. Maybe that's the case, but is making her sick due to your own negligence not indicative of a need for a simple apology??? Appalling. Seriously. read more

American Health Network process has systemic flaws that includes setting appointments that run over 30 minutes or more. Supervisors claims that this is because; 1) practitioners will take extra time with all patients - of course the first thing you patients are asked for is your insurance card on the phone and at registration 2)when asked why they cannot tell patients they are running late - supervisor claim there are 13 practitioners - airlines call customers when there are delays, so the claim that patients cannot be given the courtesy of being advised appointment will be late is flawed 3)having seen 4 medical practitioners prior to the American Health Network's experience the company's process, system, and supervisors explanation are outliers in an otherwise customer centric medical industry. If all supervisor explanations fail the answer will be well they were coming to get you and didn't you throw the clip board at the receptionist when you left- no I did not throw the clip board at the receptionist. read more

Dr Storey is the worst Doctor I have ever been to. He has no interest in the patient's symptoms. Back pain? Go home and pray. Cracked tailbone? Sorry: can't help ya! He is judgemental, and , quite frankly, a creep. And the medical assistants and "nurses" aren't better. When calling for assistance, it takes days to receive a call back. When in a crisis, they dismiss you. My husband and I have banked this practice and we hope you do too. read more

I have visited multiple doctors for annual check-ups, sick visits, and quality-of-life appointments. Most doctors are respectful of the concerns presented and receptive to helping patients live their best lives. Unfortunately, Dr. Eric Hewitt of American Health Network is not one of these doctors. He was quick to dismiss me in advance of his "scheduled lunch", spent the majority of the visit lecturing on a noncritical topic I did not come to speak about, and was hesitant to schedule any tests regarding my intended purpose of the appointment with the excuse that insurance costs would be too high though I specified that I would pay for whatever was needed out of pocket even if my insurance would not cover the expense. He was demeaning, disrespectful, and made the entire visit uncomfortable and unpleasant. In addition, he did not address the concerns and purpose for the visit. You only get one chance at life, spend your time with a doctor who recognizes how important you are. read more
