He was the first to recommend traction, which gave me a nonmedicinal method of pain relief at home. He truly cares about alleviating pain and educating on lifestyle changes that can help. Absolutely abysmal service by the doctor. Dr. S attempted to help me, but I found the appointment…read more(first and only appointment) was rushed even though there was no one else at the office, the front desk lady was very rude (now they have new front desk staff who are incredibly kind and helpful even while I was upset, the young man there was very kind. but he is a relative to the Dr. and I can see he has had to deal with the Dr. personality and cleaning up his messes for a long time. the young man behind the front desk has my respect and I understand where he has been as I have had to clean up messes made by ignorant and hurtful personalities also.) As for the doctor himself, I did not feel safe in his hands and as someone who has been to chiropractors most of my childhood into my young adult years, this was the most scary, and most frustrating experience I've ever had. sharp objects brought to my face with no explanation of what they were, and when I took this to the better business bureau and dropped off documents explaining how records are to be released in Wisconsin, I was told that a patient's ignorance of his services is not the Doctors fault. maybe the Dr. and my personalities just clash, but as someone who is open to trying new things, I would absolutely NEVER recommend this chiro to someone I care for. Maybe someone I don't like very much...but even then I would be hesitant. My Google review has all the documentation if you wish to see more information on this matter. I hope the Dr. has adjusted his bedside manner and grown from this experience rather than create more uncomfortable situations for clients. We will just have to wait and see.

My wife underwent an extensive three-level spinal fusion, with surgery performed from both the…read morefront and back. She did well and was discharged four days later, taking only oral Tylenol. At that point, she could walk only about 40 feet, so she was sent to Encompass Rehab Hospital in Fitchburg for postoperative rehabilitation. They confined her to bed for the first 17 hours, allowing her only to sit (after she complained) in a recliner with no back support. The chair also required considerable force to push back into the reclining position. The following morning, they had her walk down and back along a hallway more than 900 feet long (no exaggeration) just to begin a half-hour physical therapy session. There were multiple PT sessions each day. She rapidly developed a foot drop and excruciating pain. The facility's physician and nurse were interested only in giving her morphine for the pain, without investigating its cause. After this type of surgery, a hematoma is a significant possibility and would represent a surgical emergency prevent permanent nerve damage and muscle loss. At 1:30 a.m. on the third day, I got her out of there and took her to the Meritor ER, where the doctors ordered the appropriate imaging. They treated her for the severe inflammation and pain that had occured because of the excessive activity and recommended we not return to Encompass but to go home and rest. Two weeks later, she remains in great pain controlled with taking narcotics, muscle relaxants, and other medications. Thankfully, her muscle strength is coming back. In what world does it make sense to push a postoperative patient from walking 40 feet one day to nearly half a mile the next!?!? These consequences could easily have been prevented if the facility's staff had communicated with her surgeon, as the ER staff did, or had even bothered to ask my wife about her activity level in the hospital the day before she arrived at Encompass. They may have great physical therapists. Unfortunately, they seem to lack an ounce of common sense!!! Sadly, my wife is still paying the price.

Melissa did a complete evaluation and some adjustments on the first appt and at the 2nd appointment she turned her focus to my collarbones, though I never asked her to. Melissa was focusing on my collarbones, asking questions. I told her they were fine and to leave them alone. She then said that the right was not moving like the left. I told her to leave them alone. Melissa said that she could increase the movement on the right. I said, "Leave it alone." And with that Melissa pulled and my collarbone shifted. It's now years later and my collarbone hurts every day. I went back a week after the initial injury from her "adjustment" and asked her to correct what she did. She evaded the area and never worked on it or me again, Over the years I've tried to get someone to correct what she did, but nobody will touch it. So buyers beware!
