We ended up feeling a little bit like we were being led on by the bank we were working with. \ My fiancé's dad just became a real estate agent near Madison, and said he could speak with the next-door mortgage brokers about our options. Steve at Educated Mortgage gave me a call, and agreed to answer any questions I might have as well as advise me on whether we were getting the best deal we could. Steve was extremely helpful. He answered all the questions that I still had, which it seemed hard to get a straight answer on from the bank. He helped me look into any other mortgage programs I might qualify for, and determined that I was already getting the best deal I could. He also recommended that I should stick with what I had and not risk wasting more time or being turned down by a different bank. Steve did all of this for free, with no expectation that we would become his clients. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for advice or shopping for the best mortgage in the Sun Prairie/Madison area.

We couldn't find a bank or credit union in the area with expertise in that type of lending. I'm so glad we called Dan at Educated Mortgage - he knew all of the ins and outs of VA lending and got us all set up. We have worked with Educated Mortgage 3 times now - first for the purchase of our home, and twice to refinance our mortgage, as interest rates dropped lower and lower. We have worked with Dan each time, and all 3 experiences were a breeze. The process with the team at Educated Mortgage is quick and painless, and we now have a fantastic mortgage loan on the home we love. I highly recommend working with the pros at Educated Mortgage.

The guy I talked to on the phone wasn't prepared to talk to customers - if you're going to have someone try to schedule with customers, give that person access to the schedule. Would not recommend and will not be using them.

They come in and sort through the entire home, price everything, stage it and host an estate sale right there in the house. Sales are usually Fridays and Saturdays, with Saturdays being half off day. On Friday, there is typically a bin on the porch, this helps with keeping things civil when waiting your turn to go into the house (as there is usually a limit of 20). I've been to numerous other company's sales and her prices are by far the most fair for the customer, all while making the client as much as possible.

They took a look at the door, told us they could do the job, and then left. We didn't hear from them for a week. Right before we were about to call another company, Schmitz calls us and says they can get the seal on our door, with an 11:30 appointment time. The team showed up again around 8 AM, swapped the seal quickly, and then left all their trash from the job. I'm not impressed. Yeah, we got our new seal, but it took a whole week for no reason, and the company can't keep their own schedule.
