I don't know if I could name one local brewery that wasn't at this festival... plus, there were many home brewers, and soon-to-be breweries here as well. What an amazing job on bringing the entire community together! I tried just about every non IPA at the festival, and briefly chatted with just about every brewer. I think the longest I ever waited in line was about 45 seconds. What a lovely change of pace compared to other popular beer festivals with long lines for each pour. I heard that the food situation was a bit rough, but luckily, I had just eaten before coming out. Regardless, I'm kicking myself for not knowing about this event until now. It's unbelievable, and I'll never miss it again.

Just be careful and look out for creeps, just like any festival they're out and about so be smart

They have a huge selection of all the spirits, cordials, liqueurs, wines and mixers. It's not only that they carry all of them, but a variety of each. A whole aisle of Scotch and Irish Whiskey, for example. And the prices are great, too. The best thing about Sunshine (besides the wonderful staff) is George's "Picks". If you're in the whiskey world, you probably know about picks. The store will work with the distiller directly to choose a barrel to be sold exclusively at their store. Generally, they are more unique than the normal version of the beverage. Not always better. Except George's picks. He has the best palate of all the store pickers in three counties, at least. If you grab a pick from his shelf, it's going to be terrific.

Visited the Winter Village a few days before Christmas and had a great time! We arrived around 6:30…read morepm and enjoyed all of the lights, decorations and activities! We did not reserve ice skating in advance, so we were not able to skate the night we went since the next available time to reserve wouldn't be until 9pm and we did not want to wait that long. We visited some of the cute shops and made a few purchases. I am a huge supporter of shopping local so I was really glad to support some local Tampa businesses. I managed to pick up some gifts for friends and some dog treats for Baxter! We enjoyed a few drinks and an ice cream sundae and we picked up a pupsicle for our pup since he was with us when we visited! He was a huge fan of it! We walked the riverwalk for a bit and just enjoyed the night outside on such a nice evening. This is such a great event offered during the holiday season!

January 11, 2026 was the third annual pirate pup parade and dog costume contest…read more This is lots of fun and has a great turn out held on Waters St., & then if you want to continue on to the costume contest, walk over to Sparkman's Wharf. This time we were able to see the parade first. There were a few rain drops at the end, but we made it for the most part. Afterwards an hour later so people can get situated is the costume contest at Sparkman's Wharf. Recognized many of last year's participants. it's a lot of fun seeing all the dogs all decked up with their pirate wear. This time around a turtle and their dog companion won first place. 2nd place tied by the bull dogs in their pirate ship and the Boston Terriers(terrors) in their jail(pretty creative Lots of fun here for sure with all things dog and a turtle, music, & pirate festive spirit. Def a must do activity every year in January leading up to weekly events for Gasparilla. Kids parade and adult parade this year are on Saturday, January 24, 2026 and Saturday, January 31, 2026 respectively.

We all lined up against the barricades in the winter weather and watched the sweet pups go by one by one. There were plenty of rescues and shelters in attendance, and it was great to cheer on their efforts. From tiny terriers to golden buccaneers, these furry first mates stole my heart (and maybe a little treasure too)! This adorable kickoff to Gasparilla season has me ready to set sail for even more pirate-y fun. This is the second year this event has been held, and the pups go on to compete in a costume contest at Sparkman Wharf shortly after the parade. Yo ho ho and a pup's life for me!
