Stopped in on Christmas Eve for a last minute bottle of rum for my rum cake. Quickly found the bottle I was looking for and price clearly showed $21.99 and there was multiple bottles in the row not just one. Upon checking out the bottle rang up $26.99 so I advised the cashier the bottle should be 21.99 and I explained where I found the bottle so that they can go do a price check. The cashier then sent me over to another register and the gentleman that went to do the price check started to ring me out and although it was an error In their pricing he advised "the bottle was in the wrong spot" even though it was an entire row and said he can offer me the bottle at 23.99 instead of the $26 that it had originally rang up. I get that mistakes happen but the bottle should have been honored at the price that was shown on the shelf not a made up price in between just because. I know it's just a couple dollars but its the principle for me and the fact that the man that did the price check tried to say that someone placed that bottle in the wrong spot when it was clearly an error on the store being that the entire row was the same bottle. This is why I normally stick to ABC liquor. read more

There are a few stores in the Tampa area who support the local whiskey/bourbon environment, and I am glad that "Whiskey Willy's" is one of them. The store already has a good stock selection, but they are also prominent enough to regularly have good store picks of some quality stuff. They are relatively fair in their allocation distribution, often coinciding with those store pick bottle drops. Michael and the staff are knowledgeable, accommodating, and are passionate about their craft. I've been in line for a few of their bottle drops and appreciate when they come out to provide samples of their offerings. Their prices are a little higher than MSRP for those allocation bottles, but still mostly within reason. read more

Located in TnC on Hillsborough Ave, Whiskey Willy's is a fun place to go if you're a Whisk(e)y drinker. Like most liquor stores, WW sells all the things you might need for drink nights. They have the usual suspects of spirits, beer, wine, mixers, etc. But where this place shines is in Walid. If the place is busy, hang back a bit and wait until Walid can give you some personal attention, because it's worth it. Walid is very clearly in charge of making the store picks and the stock of whisk(e)ys, and he knows his stuff. The selection isn't huge, but it is thoughtful and carefully curated to give a wide variety of options at varying price points. He and I had a very good time talking Scotch and while he no longer had a specific bottle I was looking for, he let me try several others that were comparable. I ended up buying his Highland Park store pick (it is WONDERFUL) and, surprisingly, since I don't really drink Rye, a Rye pick of his that was delicious. I very much look forward to visiting WW and Walid very soon and on a regular basis. If you're anywhere nearby, stop in and try that Highland Park pick! read more

Updating my review from nearly five years ago, and keeping these pandemic times in mind, I can still say this is my favorite liquor store. Their drive-thru is outstanding and quite speedy. But they also offer ample parking, both in front and behind the store. All of the employees wear masks and gloves, and are always efficient. Though I can find my regular vodka elsewhere for a dollar or two cheaper, the convenience of a drive-thru window keeps me returning to Whiskey Willy's. They also sell cigarettes & cigars, and locally-brewed craft beers! read more

Great selection of bourbons including quality store picks. The team is knowledgeable and courteous. Great store.

Stopped by while up in Tampa for an appointment. Nice friendly staff, helpful but not overly so! Got to taste a couple of their own barrel picks (bourbon). Ended up getting a barrel pick along with another bottle. Nice selection and prices very reasonable. I will be back when I find myself in the area. read more

Wally is the man. He knows his stuff and prices everything fair (if not under current market value) There is usually a tasting going on Friday-Sunday. The store is always clean but parking can be a bit tricky. There are spaces available in the rear of the building and on the side. If you're in a hurry or still in your pajamas, they have a drive up window. I believe it is only cash. Best price in town for monkey in paradise vodka (my favorite)! He competes with the big dogs so go check this place out for the best prices. read more

Whiskey Willy's - a variety of drinks - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Tampa, Florida

I was in Tampa recently and had to make the rounds on a bourbon hunt. I visited Total Wine, Costco, Publix, and Luekens in addition to this place. Whiskey Willy's was by far the best stop of the places I visited. The selection of good quality, hard to find bourbons was very good an in general the prices were very fair. They also sample right at the counter. My go to bourbon is Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and they had a bottle of B520 on the shelf for $80. That's higher than MSRP but still in the reasonable range so I left with it. Next time in Tampa this will be the FIRST stop on my bourbon hunt. read more

Visited the store yesterday for the first time with my son. Very impressed with the bourbon selection as well as the conversations with what I assume were the owners. Super nice people! Nice to see a locally owned business run so well. We will be back often! read more

Great selection and reasonable prices. Only downside is some of bottles are too high to grab or see pricing but otherwise would absolutely go back read more

Went to ABC to pick up some Galliano, Salerno and vodka. They had plenty of vodka, but no Galliano or Salerno in sight. So we left and headed to Whiskey Willy's instead. Good thing we did too, because not only did they have BOTH liqueurs, but they had two young ladies in there giving away free samples of some new spirits. I was actually surprised how packed the place was, both inside and out. Yes, "and out." They have a damn drive-thru! Pretty lazy and awesome at the same time. Prices were decent and the staff was cool. This is my new fermentation station! read more

I have been to the big chains only to be disappointed by most, this was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Smaller store, great staff and huge selection. What else can you ask for? read more

The whole staff at Whiskey Willy's is great! I dropped in last week to see what I could sample and what whiskey suggestions they had. There were some really good ryes and bourbons that were open but one bourbon was just fantastic! I did get some good tips on choosing whiskeys and bourbons and I had friendly conversation with staff and customers, all the while using masks and social distancing. You need to see and experience this place. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable but it also has the feel and ambiance of a friendly corner grocery store except,... they only sell liquor ;-) read more

Came here for hard-to-find whiskey. No way you'll get this stuff at Total Wine or ABC! In addition, the owner Wally was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. This is worth the trip even if it's out of your way! read more

Wiskey Willy's is a great place for unique whiskies, scotch and bourbons. The owner is an incredible guy who truly takes care of his customers. He is very knowledgable and he takes the time to show you unique whiskies and bourbons that no other local establishment would carry. Great presentation, service, selection and prices! You should go to some of their tastings as well, great way to learn about some of the latest and greatest releases. Highly recommend them! read more

Walid is a really good guy. Learned so much about whiskey and bourbon from him. Highly recommended. Great store picks too

I have a confession to make. My name is Bronze and I use the drive thru of Whiskey Willy's...often...late at night when I have cravings...and sometimes in the morning. And I am not ashamed. In all honesty, the drive thru is a genius idea and he convenience is great. I like Whiskey Willy's because it's close to where I live and the staff is relatable, helpful and always friendly. The prices are slightly higher than some chain liquor stores, but the experience is just different. In a good way. In terms of booze, what you find here, you can find anywhere, but it sounds better when you can say "I bought it at Whiskey Willy's." Let that roll off of your tongue 3 times real fast. B. You can get anything needed for a fully stocked party here- AND you can get it in a drive- thru! They have wine tastings here, and when I was there they even had some vodka and liquor tastings too. Ice is offered, and the selection is on point. The service is friendly, and prices are fair. It's true, I'm totally feelin' this place! read more

If you're a Bourbon drinker than stop by here. They have several hard to find bottles and a fairly large selection. There are a few available for tasting and Wally can recommend something based on the flavor profile you like. read more

Wow. Where do I start? I can't believe this place is a establishment. Very dissatisfied with the service. Price gauging is what goes on here. I told my girlfriend to go get a bottle that I know cost $50 and she told me they charged her $58. Stay away! There are other liquor stores in the area. I strongly suggest go to another one. P.s stay away from Abc wines too. Your welcome. read more

They advertise 'craft beer' in fairly big letters out front and do have some but it's a relatively small selection.

A candy store for adults! Great whiskey selection, some hard to find options and very good prices. The staff was really friendly and patient with me for the whole hour I was there. My first and definite go to store when I come back to Tampa! read more

Nice selection of all types of liquors. Very nice folks who work there, and I would recommend for your beer, wine and spirits!
