For the first three years that I had the tattoo it would bleed every time I went in the sun. I went back in to the tattoo shop and he told me that it was my fault and I didn't take care of it right. Now, about 12 years later, I have almost full sleeves, I know tattoos, and I know the guy was full of crap and it was his fault. I went to a dermatologist and had a biopsy of the tattoo done to see if there was anything they could do about it. The tattoo is distorted and is just a big a lump of scar tissue from my body trying to push the ink out. What did the doctor say? He said it's because the tattoo shop used poor quality ink with mercury in it!!!! There is no way to fix this and I will forever be scared by Big Sky Tattoo. DO NOT GET A TATTOO AT BIG SKY TATTOO! IT'S NOT WORTH IT. There are a lot of reputable places within driving distance that will not destroy your body for profit.

First of…read moreall, the tattoo artist was almost an entire hour late (I had Darby) Then, during the entire tattoo, they had their child that had broken their collarbone sitting on the couch in the studio and crying asking for them. Of course, I understand, family emergencies happen, but this could have contributed to why my tattoo isn't very good and I feel the appointment should been canceled. I asked for a dragonfly tattoo to be added to leg where I have many butterfly and similar creatures and made it clear that I wanted to capture the type of dragonfly and included the following reference photo, so I wanted some lines and some detail into the wing. Looking at the tattoo, it just isn't what I asked for. If they didn't want to do the style I asked for, that's fine, but it should've been communicated. There's not even one detail line in the wings. I was very caught off guard when I saw the final result, and it wasn't cheap either. It's been about a year and I'm still really unhappy with how it looks. It sticks out against the well done tattoos next to it.
