During special events, they're packed to the gills, but their staff are bustling and will get to you quick. Thomas, behind the bar, really knows his beers and will advise you of your picks that he's sure to keep in his fridge at home. They don't serve food, but will allow you to bring in a pizza to-go to enjoy with your favorite beverage. Today, I was out on the square, taking care of some business and decided to take a walk and visit some of my favorite shops. At the last minute, I decided to pop-in for a brewski. It was the middle of the day, so just a handful of people were seated at the bar. I ordered the Wanderlinger Wheat Caroline, made in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It's great when I can enjoy a beer that's brewed right here, in the beautiful state of Tennessee. Supporting small, local businesses and breweries is my jam. Before leaving, I gazed at their vast display of specialty beers and picked out a couple to take home with me. Both, were quite deliciously great picks! Be sure to check 'em out while you're out on the square! You'll be glad you did.

We have come in the evenings, a couple times now, and it's super fun that they invite a food truck each night, you need to call ahead to find out which type of truck. I really wanna try the pizza truck! Typically, the ginger pig is the truck that's there, multiple friends have raved about the hamburger that comes with a unique green sauce on the side. Multiple friends have also raved about their wings! There's a super cute kids section play area. The bar seems to have a lot of variety of different types of beer on top. I sampled a few, but really enjoyed the grapefruit Italian soda, which had 4.2% alcohol. It was really smooth and delicious! Everyone that works there is super friendly, and it's a cool place to hang out and gather with friends!

Not bad. Drinkable and enjoyable. Feel kind of pushed aside at the bar. It's different than it used to be. Asgard was more personal. Take that for what it's worth. What was more unnerving was feeling really uneasy about being surrounded by shirts and such that were clearly aligned with anti-American/anti-patriotic virtues than what we've come to respect here in Columbia. We are open to everyone's beliefs but to see "anti-Nazi since 1996" shirts isn't something our large neighborhood groups wants to be around. If your patrons can't be tolerant to their neighbors and are going to be allowed to wear vile attire, then that's not the place for our friends and neighbors. We want to support our local businesses, but if offensive stuff is allowed to be worn, then that's not for us. We are a welcoming community and shouldn't be displaced. We've supported you in Mt. Pleasant but it seems like you've got some radical guests making others very uncomfortable in this location.

They sanction the controlled chaos, and on top of that, they serve beer! Putting axes in the hands of beer guzzling lumberjack wannabes sounds like a recipe for disaster. But to their credit, Faxons keep a close eye on their patrons. They'll even help with your technique. That's throwing technique. You're on your own with how you tip your glasses. You'll have your choice on who or what to chop up. You can toss a blade into the skull of a zombie or something more woodsy like a duck. You won't even need a hunting license. Just have your significant other fill out the permission slip (aka the waiver) so that you can participate in the carnage. If an axe is a little too extreme, you can try your hand at tossing a different dangerous projectile. They have a couple of dart boards just waiting for you to pierce their numbers. They come complete with chalkboard so that you can keep tally of how many holes you make. I'm guessing they'd prefer the holes in the boards rather than the wall. It's a family-friendly place for all you 12 and olders. That is if your family doesn't lean pacifist. Quick Tip: I wouldn't recommend wearing open toed shoes. There's always the chance of the beer that's lubricating your inside, finding its way onto the axe handle and making it as loose as you. But as I mentioned earlier, Faxons keeps a close eye on the proceedings. You should be able to make your way out with all your appendages still intact. And maybe even a few extra if you're seeing double after swilling down a few.

The Pond is a self described dive bar located in a strip mall area in Franklin Tennessee…read more I like to patronize places that aren't chains and aren't super popular spots when I travel, as I enjoy being around common folks in areas that I go to. The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.
