What a Truly Neat place. This place was so neat and you have the coolest Dog buddy that hangs out and keeps you company. He's so gentle and loved people(it's the neighbors dog) The Tour here was short but very educational and our tour guide was great and loved his humor and he truly knew his history and every small detail about Whiskey. Their outside area had benches and lawn chairs that made the place pretty chill. Love the vibes and they even had live music that was so relaxing to listen to while enjoying a drink. His voice was just magical. There are a lot of areas to take pictures and really enjoy the gorgeous scenery and green beauty. They have a nice little shop with some really fun stuff you can take home from Bottles, kitchen towels, bottles and fun Re-purposed glass bottles made into candles they have a lot of neat things. Very nice small batch distillery making high end whiskeys. We had a tasting st the outdoor bar which on a nice day is a pleasant environment. I have one gripe, that for a high end boutique distillery making pricy whiskeys they give you plastic cups for your tasting pours, pretty low class imo. A relatively new stop on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, Leiper's Fork Distillery has been open for about 8 years. It's a lovely locale about 25 minutes away from downtown Franklin. With charming wooden architecture, including an antique wood tasting room relocated to the site, it's picturesque, with the requisite gift shop and tasting tours but also an outdoor bar area and multiple fire pits where they host events and where you can roll up with a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery. Tours last 50 minutes, including their visiting production facility and the tasting. Can't do a full tasting and tour but want to sample the whiskey? They offer self-guided flights. read more

We arrived shortly after 4, hoping for a tour. The staff welcomed us as soon as we stepped onto the porch, asking if they could help us. The last tour of the day was already in progress, but they slipped us into the tour (it had begun shortly before. Charley was a rock star of a tour guide - knew the process, knew the product, connected to the history of place. Was lovely. This straightforward tour doesn't have you walking for miles, but simply taking in the inner workings of place. Learned all sorts of new. Very responsive to questions. Finished with a tasting, which was educational in and of itself. Likely affects how I enjoy my whiskey, bourbon and what not from now forward. Worth a stop. I had a favorite - the Tennessee Whiskey. Nice finish on it. My partner preferred the Bourbon but opted out of the tasting - which as I shared, changes how I'll taste it into the future. And don't bypass this reasonably priced, quaint store! Our second time here was very different than our first, yet both were so enjoyable! Our first time here was eoth friends visiting from NY in October but it was dead cold! We enjoyed it nonetheless because the gift shop was plentiful, tour was awesome, the whiskey was delicious! The second visit, we brought our parents and their 95lb dog. It was July, so warm and humid, but an overcast day provided some relief from the sun. We stayed outside while they took the tour. Played some Bags (cornhole) and enjoyed the drinks and snacks from the bar! It was completely different and we got to talk to some of the staff, people who have worked here since the beginning of opening in it's current form, and many friendly Tennesseans who were admiring our pooch. There was live music happening and plenty of tables and seating throughout the property. The black cat featured on the logo is named Hemingway and she was sleeping on one of the tables. What a relaxing way to spend an hour or so on a beautiful spring afternoon with the air fragrant with smoke from the open pit fires and the oak barrels stacked carefully beside the still. You cannot stop here without sampling at least one of the many ryes, bourbons or whiskey sold at the open air bar. As soon as you walk in the door, you were greeted with southern hospitality. Check in process was a breeze after they carded you and got an armband on you. You were free to explore the grounds at your will until the tour started. The grounds are beautifully maintained both indoors in the historic cabin which functions as the welcome center and the outdoor area scattered with seating areas and bars serving Tennessee whiskey and bourbon. The tour guide, Sir Paul, was engaging, maintaining your attention for both the history of how it's made and stand-up comedy. I toured with other people who have done tours before and it was very unique to taste the mash. Next, we went on to the tasting room where we had four glasses and a bottle of water with a eyedropper in it. What at other distilleries is a simple tasting, explaining how to identify the undertones of the whiskey and the bourbon turned into a science experiment. Who knew water could bring out the taste of the bourbon in the whiskey?! Afterwards, we went to the outdoor bar and had a wonderful special - the Whiskey Wacker! Every employee went out of their way to make you feel welcome, from the bartender, to the gift shop, to Sir Paul. Definitely a tour I would bring everybody! read more

Date of visit: February 22, 2024 After we left the wonderful, Wines in the Fork, we found this distillery. The atmosphere, decor etc was rustic and warm and inviting and just what we like and needed on a rainy day. My daughter and I opted out of the tour and decided to "sit a spell" on the gorgeous porch with a cocktail. I had their version of a whiskey sour (best I have ever had!) and my daughter had their version of an Old Fashioned. We sat and relaxed in the best rocking chairs on porch for at least 2 hours. Working on completing the Tennessee Whiskey Trail and this is one of my last stops along the way. 37 total stops and each distillery is very unique. This was one of the least interesting. Small bar on the back deck that offers a little cocktail menu in plastic cups. It has a cute cabin for a store and a very nice outdoor seating area. The staff was helpful and friendly but wasn't impressed with the drinks I had. It's worth checking out l, but overall not impressed compared to most of the other distilleries I visit s even the same day. read more

Such a unique distillery! And so worth the drive from Nashville. We did an afternoon tour on a Friday. It was only four people total. Very knowledgeable guide explained the different processes for the whiskey and bourbon. Also, stories about the property and prohibition. We tasted the two mashes in the 1K gallon tanks and then went straight to the tasting room for more stories and tasting lessons. The distillery has great seating areas outside with live music, open bar (try the Steeplechase!), and a resident cat with six toes!. Don't forget to visit the gift store for souvenirs and liquor, then take the Natchez Trail back to Nashville! read more

Tennessee is such a beautiful state and this distillery is situated in a wonderful setting. A tour is distinguished by your guide and our guide was animated and knowledgeable about their product and the history of whiskey. It's store and tasting room are housed in an old Cabin built by James Daniels. The cabin was not original to the land and was moved there in the last ten years or so. The tour takes place where the magic happens as one would assume. If you go, bring your questions as well because I don't think anyone was disappointed about our tour guide's wealth of knowledge on the subject. The tasting room is set up at the bar and on high top shared tables. They have a cute little shop in the cabin as well. Would definitely recommend as a stop, but it's not a place to bring the kids. read more
