When it finally cleared out, two workers practically shoved their way through the aisle to straighten up. They probably have to do this duty at some point before close but they took a long time and were in my way, spent the whole time talking loud about random things. This made it very difficult for me to read and decide on pet products. :( They offered no help or greetings and made me uncomfortable and feel panicked. Touching the cans seems like a one person job Especially in already overcrowded aisles. The customer service was nonexistent. While in line a totally different worker was standing on shelving touching products in the same way... probably an end of night duty but it was very rude and uncomfortable while the line was wrapped around and full of people waiting and waiting. I'll stick with Amazon !

He has called my female dog the wrong name after checking her in at their old location where you used to be able to go inside. Now you can't go in, you can't park, you strictly can drop your animal off and they come to the car and come get them. SHADY!! This nasty man had the nerve to say after charging full price for grooms to "adjust" my new puppy to the groomer making us come every 2 weeks for 2 months to make a snide comment about how if she was going to be hyper they were going to cancel the appointment and they weren't going to groom her. SHES A PUPPY UNDER A YEAR OLD FOR CHRIST SAKE!! He just genuinely seems to hate animals and people!! The absolute straw that broke the camels back was I was 5 minutes late an appointment due to trying to get an elderly small dog with hip problems and a puppy into my car by myself and drive and his clock was 10 minutes faster than every other clock in the world and he refused to honor the appointments for both dogs even after he came and grabbed one of my dogs and took them inside already, so they groomed one and gave her the most hideous groom ever, you had to cancel my other dog for being 5 minutes late but couldn't make sure her cut was even now that you had one less dog?! This place was the reason we started grooming our first dog because of his nasty attitude but a family friends kid started working there so we gave them another chance. Our first visit with our dog was excellent. After the reopening following the quarantine we had a…read moredifferent outcome. First we had a 1:00 PM appointment so we dropped the dog off at 5 minutes to 1 and we were told it might be a bit longer than usual so we figured she would be done by 2:30 PM. We returned a little after 2 and one of the groomers came out and didn't remember us from when we dropped the dog off. He wanted to know if we were there to pick up a pizza next door. I said no we were there to pick up our dog. He told us she wasn't done yet and would be another hour, this was at 2:30 PM. When we took the dog in February, they told us it would be a little over an hour and it was just over an hour and they did a wonderful job. When he told us at 2:30 it would be another hour she had already been there for 1 1/2 hours. He also said we should figure on three hours for a grooming, over twice as long as her previous visit. At 4:20 PM we finally got the dog back. The grooming job didn't seem to be as well done as her previous visit, probably because of so many grooming jobs done today. This was not acceptable to us as we had to wait in the parking lot for most of this time. If they were going to be overbooked, as they seemed to be, we should have been told so we could have made an appointment later. The owners texted us explaining that many of the dogs and cats were way over due and that's just the way it is. We wouldn't have been so upset if they had explained to us up front, so we could have scheduled when they were not so busy.

I would like to write a rebuttal to Karen S's review…read more FACT: We purchased two female golden retriever puppies from Melodie three years ago. My husband and I have had golden retrievers for 25 years, so we're kind of experts. I knew immediately, upon meeting Melodie, that she was the one from whom we wanted to buy our puppies. She met with us for a long time and went over all their documented vet visits, their health records, and their lineage. FACT: Prior to picking out our puppies, she took us around the huge property--it's a lovely farm just outside of Ithaca. She introduced me to her horses, all the dogs, and even the mama pig that had just had a litter! The puppies have the ideal set-up: Melodie has the puppies in a barn with their own compartments, each nested with their own litter, thus they stayed with their siblings (at the time we met them, they were five weeks old, and she had two litters). Their "rooms" led outside to a straw-filled pen where the moms were allowed to interact with the puppies. I loved this setting; because they were used to "going" outside, therefore they were so easy to potty train! They were very happy puppies and never even whimpered once we got them home. They were not at all timid or skittish; they played right away with our older golden Maddie, who was eight at the time. Perhaps Karen S is more accustomed to hyper personalities like Australian Shepherd dogs exhibit and should stick with that breed... FACT: Melodie was very fussy about their diet and showed us what she had been feeding them, which is what the vet recommended. Her dogs were so healthy, in fact, that our vet in Elmira purchased his golden from Melodie too; and he grew up on a farm with goldens all around him. He thought our goldens were the healthiest he's ever seen. FACT: Her grown up dogs, the mamas and the papa Caluha, all wander in and out of Melodie's home. She has a huge yard that is fenced in, along with a large pond in which the dogs play. I see that Karen S bought her dog in November, when typically the dogs remain inside; we bought our girls in July, summer of course, and everyone was outside playing in the pond! FACT: Subsequently, we have had two friends who have purchased goldens from .Melodie. One male friend stops by to see us quite often to show how proud he is of the golden boy that he has; another set of friends, who lost their male golden last year, just bought one -- they've had her two weeks now and said she never once whimpered. FACT: We have a business in our home, a construction business, and our customers comment on how calm our girls are--they always assume they're much older than three years old. Melodie is truly an expert at breeding calm, perfect golden retrievers--and we would never look elsewhere! We are on the waiting list now for both a boy and a girl puppy. I'm not sure why Karen felt so strongly about this to post but you may be assured--this is NOT A PUPPY MILL! Eileen P
