No response was ever received. I filed a formal dispute with PayPal, which was denied twice. I have since filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Over $1,200 sent to the wrong person, documented attempts to recover it, and total silence. In my opinion that tells you everything you need to know about the character of the person running this business. Be cautious.

On June 9, I contacted Mueller Tree and spoke with Tom McCartney, the Sales & Operations Manager. I requested an estimate because a dead tree needed to be removed before June 17, as it threatened my neighbor's yard. Tom visited my home while I was away and messaged me the price along with photos and a detailed job description. I messaged him back and agreed to the price. Tom said he would send a crew on Saturday, June 13, around 12:00 p.m., to cut down the tree, and he would come on Sunday, June 14, to grind the stump. My husband saw the Mueller truck drive by before noon on Saturday. They stopped for a few minutes and then drove off. I called Tom around 1:00 p.m. to ask when the workers would arrive. Tom said the workers went by and told him the price he had given me was too low. He also asked for the name of the other company and the price they gave me. I declined to answer, telling Tom I agreed to his price and that I had already informed the other tree service that I accepted Mueller Tree to remove the dead tree. Tom then told me that the crew had no more room in their truck for the tree parts on Saturday and might be able to come on Monday or Tuesday, but the price may be double what he originally quoted me. I said I had a detailed, written price from him and agreed, so I believe the contract was binding. Tom said he would call me again later that day, but he never did. I recently saw signs for Mueller Tree in my neighborhood and decided to call them. Tom McCartney mentioned they had worked in the Hudson area and my neighborhood for many years, so I felt confident I would get the right information. I agreed on his price. I have all of Tom's texts, as well as the contract he sent. His actions, as well as those of Mueller Tree, are unprofessional; their pricing is deceptive. As a consumer, I find this unacceptable.

If you need Falls Tree to cut down some trees, they're solid. We used them for years in our…read morebackyard. However.... If you are considering using them for tree cables --- I would look elsewhere. Here's why: December 2022: Cable breaks on large oak tree and is replaced by Mr. Falls Crew. March 2025: The same large oak tree was pruned to prevent the cables from breaking.  August 2025: The same cable breaks again. Foreman at Mr. Falls replaces it and apologized to us because he said the Falls crew that installed the cable in 12/2022 did it wrong, and that's why it broke.  February 2026: The same cable breaks again... for the third time in a span of less than 3.5 years.  Bear in mind that tree cables are supposed to last 20+ years. It's now June 2026 and we're still waiting for a Falls Tree crew to come out and fix it (after saying they would on at least three different occasions over the phone). If you're looking for tree cabling, you want a communicative company who can stand behind their work. After waiting 3+ months, it appears they do not.

He told us stuff to look out for so the tree would not be damaged. Everyone on the phones was nice. Rob's crew that did the job was really friendly. Rob showed us exactly what he'd do and gave time to ask questions. The crew did a good job with the work. Rob checked with me before the job was complete to make sure I was happy and also checked with the neighbors to make sure they didn't want more cut over their property. He also pointed out some other trees that might have problems and cleaned some leaves off of our roof that were not due to their trimming but they did the extra service because maybe there were some twigs up there from the cut. Would definitely work with Mr Falls Tree Expert again.
