I called them and my call was answered by Brittany in the office who was so friendly and accommodating. I told her that we needed 2 large limbs removed before a shed was to be delivered. It turned out that the shed was delivered a day early and was put in its place right underneath the limbs that needed to be removed. Luke came out promptly and carefully removed both limbs that were in a tricky spot hanging over the new shed. He did an excellent job! Luke is very knowledgeable about what he does and such a kind young man. He took great care of us and we will definitely recommend him to anyone we know who needs a good tree service. On June 9, I contacted Mueller Tree and spoke with Tom McCartney, the Sales & Operations Manager. I requested an estimate because a dead tree needed to be removed before June 17, as it threatened my neighbor's yard. Tom visited my home while I was away and messaged me the price along with photos and a detailed job description. I messaged him back and agreed to the price. Tom said he would send a crew on Saturday, June 13, around 12:00 p.m., to cut down the tree, and he would come on Sunday, June 14, to grind the stump. My husband saw the Mueller truck drive by before noon on Saturday. They stopped for a few minutes and then drove off. I called Tom around 1:00 p.m. to ask when the workers would arrive. Tom said the workers went by and told him the price he had given me was too low. He also asked for the name of the other company and the price they gave me. I declined to answer, telling Tom I agreed to his price and that I had already informed the other tree service that I accepted Mueller Tree to remove the dead tree. Tom then told me that the crew had no more room in their truck for the tree parts on Saturday and might be able to come on Monday or Tuesday, but the price may be double what he originally quoted me. I said I had a detailed, written price from him and agreed, so I believe the contract was binding. Tom said he would call me again later that day, but he never did. I recently saw signs for Mueller Tree in my neighborhood and decided to call them. Tom McCartney mentioned they had worked in the Hudson area and my neighborhood for many years, so I felt confident I would get the right information. I agreed on his price. I have all of Tom's texts, as well as the contract he sent. His actions, as well as those of Mueller Tree, are unprofessional; their pricing is deceptive. As a consumer, I find this unacceptable.

I recently had some trimming work done on a few oak trees. There was no access for a lift so they…read moreneeded to climb the trees. I had an Haymaker estimator come out and he gave me a two to six hour range. When I asked why such a wide range he stated, "Well sometimes it takes an hour to throw the rope in the tree and the guys will sometimes forget tools at the shop and they have to leave and get them. This bothered me and questioned using them. The Haymaker office called and asked if I was going to use them and I brought up what the estimator told me. She said that the crews are professional and efficient so I decided to go with them. That was a costly mistake. Keep in mind the shop is less than a mile from my house. They showed up about a half an hour before sunrise and sat in the trucks for the sun to rise. They had two climbers and two ground men. The one climber started but the second one was fooling around hanging upside down on the rope and took an hour to start the job. The first climber finished his work and the second climber and groundsman started working. Meanwhile the first climber and groundsman was just standing around. It looked like the staged the work to take much more hours to finish. They actually slowed down everything to take three hours. I told my wife I bet the want to charge for three hours even though it was easily done in two hours. And to my surprise when I got the bill it was three and a half hour. I called the office to complain and they said they charge for travel time. I told they I lived less than a mile away from the shop. They shaved off the half an hour but I feel I was charged an extra hour do to purposely staging the work between two independent crews and they standing around until the clock showed three hours. Just be careful of small jobs with an unspecified duration. They run up the clock on purpose. They also snapped off one of my yard lights as they removed the branches to the chip. The team lead just stuck it in the ground when he saw it bit it actually snapped from it's anchor. I saw him push it into the ground.
