The actual poor wasn't that bad except for the buried some of the old concrete from the driveway/walkway on the right side of the front of the house. I had to dig that up and get rid of it myself. As you can see by the below, they really sprayed the concrete as high as 6 feet the screen on the patio window, I did if they were going to clean that up and they said that they couldn't because the concrete was wet that I had to wait until it was dry. as you can see in the pictures below, they couldn't take the wood framing off the concrete because some of the workers nailed it to the concrete he explained and that some of his workers were and that he couldn't get them to use the wooden spikes only instead of the nails. I have tried to in contact with R & C construction several times through voicemail and text and through Angie and they have not returned my messages. Overall, I would give them three stars only, decide for yourself.

The fireplace we had built has a 3-foot thick concrete foundation base and for good reason: weight. My fireplace weighs approximately 16,000 pounds. 3 - 4 inches of concrete will not support that weight.

(see picture). I brought this up to Nova Roca's attention who said they would fix it but it has been over 3 weeks since we spoke and have not heard any follow-up. Also, the crew left a lot of concrete rubble in the grass that I had to take a shop vac to remove.

I engaged ZG Concrete for a 3 part project for my home: Complete replacement of the whole…read moredriveway, back patio, and front walkway. The old structures were 50+ years old and in poor condition, and a weak point in the look and function of the property. ZG quoted the job quickly and accomodated the addition of the front walkway when it was obvious that was an easy additional item to have replaced. Communication with ZG was great for the whole project. I received a fairly detailed quote and payment schedule. When the work started, it was swift and proceeded along at an efficient rate. The job was done start to finish in a week. For this job I was looking for quality. Speciflcally I wanted correctly sized rebar used for the entire project, the use of rebar chairs, quality expansion joint wood, correct grading of all surfaces, and crews who know what they're doing. ZG delivered all of that. The tie-in to the city street was done corretly, with a hefty beam at the start of the driveway with rebar set into holes drilled into the street. The final driveway was finished with a brushed texture and smooth edges all the way around. The stamped concrete on the walkway and patio was colored, finished, and sealed, and mimics the look of natural stone. When I hire a comany, I am looking for variety of things including personable people who have an eye for quality. One can always find a cheaper bid from a company who cuts corners and delivers an inferior product. I wanted great lookling, high quality final results that would last decades. If you're going to buy a lot of concrete and pay to have it installed, it makes sense to ensure that the underlying details such as rebar, grading, and fit and finish are also done correctly. Julian and Waleed are working hard to produce quality end products for their customers. I would easily use ZG again and would certainly reccomend them.

And just recently had the entire patio resurfaced from a brushed finish to a patterned cool deck finish with paint. To date have no issues with the work done. At the time work was being done the crews were conscientious about their work and cleaned the work site. I have recommended to family and friends. There was a little more work than initially discovered with the attic inspection, but it was all still within original expectations, so no additional costs were incurred. This was another great example of their honesty and professionalism. The true test came this past weekend, where there was significant rainfall for a few hours. I put a request out on The Yelp on August 11th for a quote on a new entryway gate. I had several…read moreoffers come through, both low and high with several designs. Apex came through in the middle price-wise, and a good design and we decided to move forward with them. It took a week to get a quote, after first contact. Most of the homes in our circle have some sort of gate but ours was lacking, so we decided to do a thing. The project was 9-foot wrought iron gate in my front archway. We provided some designs that we liked, and they matched one. They reviewed and quoted based on one of them, and we signed a contract. The welder came out on a Saturday and had it fully installed in 4-5 hours. They came out in a team of two, and both fellas were very polite and great to work with. I had met one the previous week when he came to take measurements for the project. A+ for professionalism and quality of work. The primary challenge throughout the project was scheduling and communication. While the initial quote took about a week to receive, every other contractor had a quote back in a matter of hours. Communication after contract execution remained inconsistent. The installation was originally expected much earlier, but the project was not completed until October 3. Two scheduled installation dates passed without work being performed, and no advance notice or cancellation information was provided. Apex later explained that staffing and welder availability had contributed to the delays. Project delays can occur, we understand that, but more proactive communication and clearer expectation-setting would have improved the experience. Updates regarding schedule changes, project status, and anticipated completion dates would have helped manage expectations throughout the process. I did communicate my frustration at this. We never actually met with Apex, only their new welder team. Overall the finished product was great, it just took a while to get there.

BEWARE!!! I hired Dawns Designs to take down and rebuild a pergola and also to resurface stamped…read moreconcrete with cool decking on our patio and stairs leading to the lake. My General Contractor from Dawns Design was Yosef Zubiz or (Joseph). They have a set schedule for payments and literally the moment their subcontractor says they are done, they expect payment and are very high pressure about this, even before you get to inspect the work. The work was being done at our lake house (1 hour away) and we kept up with the immediate schedule until I went to the lake house, the day they said, the pergola was completed. When I started reviewing the workmanship it was evident that Joseph and his subcontractor had no clue about construction. The subcontractor was onsite and it was only him and his girlfriend was trying to help him. There were 6" 2x4's spliced in several places, because he miscut the piece that should have been used, no slope on the pergola that was going to have a roof installed, 2x4's were split from the screws he used, split and badly warped rafters (2x8's), flat paint used when it was requested to use Satin finish and so many more errors to list. It took 3 weeks for these errors to get completed because my General Contractor (Yosef) would not come up to the job to inspect the work! He relies completely on the subcontractor's word!! The subcontractors said each time they called him to inspect, Yosef told them it was too far from Katy to go to Conroe. My wife and I got stuck with a pergola, where each seam of the Carbonite roofing shows, because they built the pergola with 29" rafter centers when the roofing panels are 4' on center. NO planning on their part! I had Jacob, one of the Dawn Designs owners, come out to show him the workmanship, he acted appalled with the work that was done and promised corrective measures, but could not get any replies for any corrective measures. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN and have a hard time believing these good reviews are actual reviews from actual customers. BEWARE!!!
