I am extremely disappointed with the service from Pinch A Penny -Fernandina. The owner Melody backed into our basketball goal and left the scene without informing us. We had to review the camera footage to find out why our BB goal was leaning. When we addressed the issue with them directly, they were rude and dismissive, showing a complete lack of accountability and NEVER apologized. On top of that, their weekly service has been subpar, with them only doing half the work they're supposed to, but billing us for "storm cleaning" and increasing the monthly rate! I've been using Jason's Pool Service which was his brother Kirk's service before that for 16 years…read morenow. Jason has cleaned our pool and watched over our equipment, keeping things clean and updated. He comes like clockwork and let's me know by text if something needs my attention. We are on a monthly payment program with him so it's the same year round. He comes weekly in the summer and once every two weeks in the winter. Highly recommend!

I contacted the pool installer to see if they could come give me tutorial on the equipment they installed but couldn't even get a call back. I contacted at-least 5 other pool companies for a tutorial/inspection and quote for weekly service. One told me to take pictures and come to their store (not helpful), 1 setup appointment but were no show. The other 3 wouldn't return calls or emails. First coast contacted me back within hours of my request and came out 2 days later. The owner was super friendly and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. Ended up setting up a weekly service to get pool under control. I may end up taking it over myself once I understand it more but they are so friendly I may just keep the weekly service. They have been here twice now, pool is clean, equipment is working and provide a email service report each week with photo of pool, chemical readings and summary of the chemicals added and services rendered. Highly recommend this growing company if you need pool service!!

We talked over options and budget and found a plan that would work. He started the following Monday! I was floored. Everyone else I tried had waiting lists and was thousands more. He even fixed the pipe we had messed up! Dan will be honest with you on cost and what you need. The weather gave us some trouble, but Dan kept me updated and I was completely comfortable letting him come and go as weather allowed. When it came time to refill, he walked me through start up, chlorine, test strips, and pump trouble shooting (ours was full of marcite pebbles from the original damage). He worked with my screened in enclosure replacement guy to make sure that everything went smoothly. Okay well this is what the result of making a mistake on the job and not owning it looks like. I should have been called back same day or next. Very unsatisfactory customer service.

We have a pool! Yay!!…read more So, we've come to find it's expensive to have a pool, but I'm still happy we have one! We buy all of our pool supplies (chemicals, etc.) here at Pinch a Penny. I can't honestly say if the prices are cheaper anywhere else because we received such great service here from the first time we walked through the doors that we haven't bothered to go anywhere else to compare. They have little plastics bottles they give us and we fill them up with pool water and bring them back here and they test our water (for free) and tell us what we do and do not need. They are very, very knowledgeable and so helpful. I've yet to ask them a question they haven't been able to answer. If you have a pool, I highly recommend this Pinch a Penny location!
