I haven't been here in a few years and was disappointed to see they no longer have waffle fries, which were so good. Now they have fries that are coated so they have crunchy bits on it. First time eating here so I have no previous visit to compare it to. My partner and I arrived at 10:44 wanting an early lunch. They were open but only one couple eating inside. The ordering system and ordering board were inaccurate. The board says combos and items, but the ordering system must be bought separately. A cook there helped me understand what was going on. I ordered the Back Yard Classic, fries and a small drink. My partner ordered just a mushroom burger. It was ready very quickly and was made fresh. The taste.. well ... it was very bland, the burgers were dry like ones made from frozen, and overall had little flavor. I guess I expected them to taste like a burger that was made in your back yard. The fries were decent, but again, no flavor, no salt. It wasn't a bad meal, but for $22.15, I was expecting a little more. I'm giving 3 stars because the place was clean and the food appeared to be fresh. I won't be going back, but I hope they improve their menu. read more

First visit to Backyard Burgers. It's located just off 540, and an easy in/out when headed to or from the airport. Burgers are the thing, so that's what I had. It's a nice-sized burger. Flame-broiled so it has that smoky taste. Burger is well-cooked, not overdone. It's juicy and thick. Adorned with lettuce, tomato, onion. Ketchup is at the table, so it's not served on the sandwich. Also tried onion rings. These are excellent. Piping hot, crispy, not greasy. Perfect for a dip in some ketchup. This place is a great alternative for a burger. It's not any more expensive than McD's or BK, but the quality is better. read more

The most recent reviews led me wrong... I love burgers, and my hopes were high... This did not live up to my expectation! The burger itself was very dry and overcooked. I had the mushroom burger and it was just ok. Service was very quick, it was ordering from a kiosk which is ok, but you can't modify from there. The onion rings are amazing! Crispy, REAL ONIONS, and crunchy. I also had strawberry lemonade which was just ok too. We also had a BLT, was disappointed that it was on a bun instead of toasted bread, kind of defeats the purpose, but otherwise, it was good. We did the drive thru option because the dining room is not open due to covid. I had never ordered here before and the gentleman taking orders was so kind and helpful. We ordered one of each chicken sandwich with waffle fries. Everything was fresh and tasty. The club has bacon and the chicken is blackened chicken with a grilled flavor. Great service and food. We ordered a kid's meal cheeseburger with seasoned fries and diet Pepsi. Being it was our first time, we wanted to keep it simple and well let's be honest - I am not spending close to $11 on a meal I might or might not like. To our surprise, this was sooo good! The bun was fresh and soft. The meat juicy and seasoned just right. They didn't over due the condiments - just the right amount not to over power the burger. Really excellent waffle fries, burgers and surprisingly SALAD ! I recently ordered from Backyard and had a classic burger with bacon. The buns are very fresh and soft brioche. The waffle fries are the best I've had. Crispy, not overly salted and always hot. I wouldn't quite call the burgers " back yard grill style". But they're really big by the Oz and very good. I can't stop raving about how good their waffle fries are. Recently I had the cranberry pecan salad with blackened grilled chicken and that was good also. Backyard dishes out a lot of variety. Nice people and clean restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring to your table. I had the black and blue burger and fries. The fries are a seasoned battered fry. Nice and fresh. The hamburger was a little dry, though I must admit I prefer a med rare burger myself. Lots of blue cheese and really fresh lettuce and tomato on a really good bun. Tried this place for the first time tonight. First of all there's a drive thru so that's a plus. We got to the window and I was going to be basic and order a regular burger. But while my husband gave me the "hurry up" glare I pulled out my handy dandy yelp to see what the yelp fam says to get and I saw great reviews on the bacon cheddar burger. I switched to this and was not disappointed. It's delicious. The seasoned fries are a 10. They also have the option of waffle fries. Why those two amazing things: seasoned and waffle fries, haven't been brought together here, the world may never know. What I also like is that they have a list of fan favorites so if you don't know what to order you can also go by popular vote. Everything I've tried on their menu has been good, however the cheeseburgers are my favorite! I've always experienced good customer service and I've never experienced any problems. There's not a long wait from when you order your food from when you get it. I've always gone through the drive-thru, but I imagine it's the same for inside dining as well. The only thing I would say is a negative is the price, which is on the expensive side. However, most places nowadays are pricey too, and the cost definitely isn't a deterrent for eating here. So for my opinion, I highly recommend Backyard Burgers. read more

My family and I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed! Most recently, we ordered delivery via UberEats and the food arrived like it was fresh out of the kitchen. I had their Chipotle burger, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious; I thought the onion straws on the burger really elevated the meal. We also got an order of the seasoned fries and an order of the onion rings, both of which were hot and crispy upon delivery. Their seasoned fries are fantastic (we always get them), and this was my first time trying their onion rings but I thought they were worth it as well. I have also tried the mushroom swiss burger in the past, and that was a great burger for someone who loves mushrooms. Come on. Really ?? Not here. Everything, every time is picture perfect. The tomato is bright red. The lettuce is crisp and cold. The onions are perfect. The burger is seasoned , the bacon is actually cooked and covers the burger. Seriously you could take a picture of YOUR burger and use it in an advertisement. And they taste as good as they look. Great place for drive-thru burgers, fries, and cobbler! The employees are very kind and have never messed up our order until this past visit when they forgot the fish sandwich I ordered and paid for. I did not check the bag before driving away since they always provide quick and accurate orders. After arriving home only to discover that my order was missing a key component, I called and the employee (manager?) was apologetic and said at my next visit I could get a complimentary flounder sandwich. This burger is as close as you'll get to the one off your own grill in the backyard. I was first introduced to this burger chain in college when Boone got one of the first locations in the state (I think). The Bacon Cheddar Burger is off the hook, as are the chili cheese fries. The mushroom and swiss is awesome. Not good (at all!) for a girl on a low-carb diet, but I'm allowed one cheat meal a week and this was the one for this week.
