At first, they were punctual and seemed to work quickly. I even recommended them to our neighbor. However, things took a turn for the worse as their work grew sloppy. Paint marks were left all over, they left exposed parts of the removed iron, and instead of removing our mailbox, they painted around it. Despite informing them that we wouldn't be keeping the front door and didn't require sanding and painting, they initially deducted $200 from the quote, attributing it to iron door disposal, which we ultimately handled ourselves. When we asked for a price adjustment accordingly, they declined. In the pictures of the door trim I attached below you can see they didn't even bother sanding the trim. They claimed they couldn't sand it due to its age only informing us about this after it was painted. For a Brownstone Masonry company, dealing with old wood should be a given, especially for properties over 100 years old like ours. Again they refused to lower the price. Take a good look at the paint drip marks and tell me if that's worth $2,400 (which was a large chunk of the overpriced total estimate of 7K). Now for the worst part of this experience, our neighbor ended up using their services as well only a week later. Our property is recently bought and vacant for renovations. ZHI's employees broke into our downstairs unit and stole our black paint to paint our neighbor's brownstone. Obviously upset that someone would trespassed and steal from our property we quickly called them to complain. They gave us a quick I'm sorry and that they just wanted to match the paint to ours which they would replace (they never did). For the next two days ZHI employees without our permission continue to break into our downstairs unit to use our bathrooms and living space to eat. One of the days they even left the front door wide open creating a huge security risk. Day after day I called them to complain and even threatened to call the police and still they responded with an "I'm sorry about that". ZHI Renovations is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anyone.

When I bought a condo, Concrete Care removed the cheap vinyl that the previous owner had put on the…read morefloor and replaced it with a gorgeous concrete floor. The work took 7 work days for ~500 square feet, and the whole process took ~2.5 weeks from when I first messaged to when they finished. I messaged through Yelp on a Saturday, and Daniel called me back on the Monday. Jack came out to provide an estimate the next day, and he brought samples of polished concrete so I could pick a color. He gave me two quotes: one for removing the vinyl and just polishing and one for also pouring self-leveling concrete and polishing that. The estimates were competitive with quotes I had received from others, and he sent them through Quickbooks within hours of meeting. We decided that they would remove the existing floor first so we could get a sense of what just polishing that would look like. They also provided a COI promptly once we decided on this plan. Jack had a three-man crew come out the following Monday. They arrived everyday from 9 am to 9:15 am. Within an hour, they had ripped up the baseboards and vinyl floor. The concrete underneath had bubbles, large cracks, inconsistent coloring, and a large stain from previous water damage. The foreman, Alberto, suggested they just pour new concrete, and I agreed. We got Jack on the phone and went ahead with that plan. The crew did a great job putting up plastic to protect the walls and the limited furniture I had in the unit. They also put up plastic in the building hallways and carefully disposed of all debris. And 7 workdays later, the floor looks great! Would definitely call up Concrete Care again for any remodeling that fits their skills. For reference, the four photos are of (1) the living room before removing the vinyl, (2) the living room after removing the vinyl, (3) the completed living room, and (4) the concrete samples in the living room before the work.
