I wanted to take a moment to highly recommend Donald and his team. Some back story...i had a roof…read moreleak that affected my front porch 'ceiling'. There was a large hole that had been patched really crappy by a shoddy roofer...and they never came back. Sigh. So forward a year later and the roof had been fixed. But the porch ceiling repair needed to be done by a 'general handyman'. My goals were that i wanted the ceiling repair to look much better, for a 'scallop' texture to be matched (later learned it was plaster due to my house being built in 1960), and for the whole porch ceiling to be painted from white to a deep twilight blue. Donald and team came out and supplied an estimate that was very reasonable for the detailed work i wanted done and they felt they could knock it out in about a day. They began work and called me to inform me the roof leak was still not fixed. They could see water that had been leaking once they opened up the ceiling, and recommended that i go back to my roofer to readdress the issues. Now, this is what i love. Donald could have just done the repair, collected the money, and ran. I truly would not have known the roof was still leaking...until the ceiling collapsed again (which is how i originally learned i had a problem!). But you know what? HE DID NOT DO THAT! Talk about a man of integrity! And you know how hard that is to find these days? Especially for a 'cheap' project. Roofer came back. Fixed the problem (yes...again LOL). And then Donald followed up with the patch, scallop pattern, and paint job. Once finished, i am BEYOND pleased. I love the color. I love that the scallop pattern matches. (As a graphic designer, i am ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS. I notice.) I tipped all 3 workers (tip your people, folks!). Gave them an iced fruit bar on a hot day. Shared some laughs. Thanked them, deeply. Told them i would write a mindful review but they'd better move me to the top of the list when i hire them for any of the myriad of house maintenance projects that i KNOW will come up in the future and they will be busy! Do not use this company under any circumstances unless you want a delay, poor communication, and…read morereally crappy service and product. We needed siding fixed for our Tudor and rather than replacing parts of the wood that were rotting, they filled it with putty and filler which never set and was crumbly and soft to the touch. They claimed it needed time to set but after a week of warm temperatures, it still flaked off. How that would withstand a pressure wash before a paint job is beyond me. Trying to talk to their representative about issues that arose was impossible. We ended up doing some work on our own after they finally came around to acknowledging that some of their work was poor quality. Us putting in time and effort and working on the siding was the only way we could move on and get the hired painters in to start our exterior paint job. Mind you we were over a month late trying to get Certa Pro to come work on the project. If you ask ahead about their schedule to come out, you don't get an answer or you get misinformation. They will tell you a time they plan to come and will not show up and will not notify you. While we did not want to replace all of the siding from the beginning because parts of the wood were still in good condition, we did not expect such a poor job with the patch work for the pieces that needed work. This company does not offer to help in any way and their people are difficult to deal with. We used them because we used Certa Pro for painting and they recommended this sister company for carpentry. Biggest regret. We could not put our house on the market on time and they didn't even clean up afterwards. Well, unless you count throwing away parts in our yard waste bin and us having to transfer that to our garbage bin. Anyone else would be a better carpenter. You, yes you the reader, can have a better outcome by watching YouTube to learn how to diy; your efforts would be more skilled than their workers'! Beware and stay far far away! Those positive reviews on yelp look suspect given that they only provided a review for this company and nothing else on yelp. Avoid the headache and stress and go with any other company or professional.
