After my haircut appointment at the Aveda Salon, a few doors down, I came back to Back rubs and got a reflexology treatment. Both of the massage treatments were professional and were extremely effective in releasing my overly tight muscles. Their space is clean, comfortable, and inviting. There was soothing music playing in the background and ample room for multiple kinds of therapies. The flowers placed upon each treatment table were an unexpected but very nice touch indeed! Let me start by saying that their prices seemed very reasonable to me. I live in a big city, and usually an hour massage is $120, minimum. Here an hour Swedish massage is $60. Score! Tessa is an exceptional massage therapist. She listened to me and responded accordingly. She also immediately figured out where my tension was and worked until she got it all out. She was extremely skilled and professional. I left feeling rejuvenated and calmer than I've been in weeks. I cannot recommend her enough! My aunt regularly sees Sharon, and she raves about her. I try to get into see Lori every couple months or so. I've had a lot of massages during my life, and I can honestly say she's the best ever, "hands down" (pun intended). Her pressure is absolutely perfect, she always checks in on how it's going, and she has never hurt any part of my body! I have gone elsewhere in Redding but I will only be going back to Back Rubz. I went in today after having the flu for the last few days and the body aches were unbearable. Not only did they get me right in but my massage therapist Kelsey was more than accommodating. After telling her over the phone that I was still having chills she made sure to put an extra blanket on the bed and put a heat pack on my back while she was working on my lower body. Finally found a massage therapist who is not afraid to get in there and work out the knots! She even found a golf ball sized one I had in my neck I didn't even know I had! originally went in for a half our but ended up staying for the full hour. Although I don't get massages often, I might start getting them more frequently and I'll only be going to Kelsey! I scheduled deep tissue masses for both my boyfriend and myself. I asked the woman on the phone who was the best therapist for deep tissue, I also mentioned that both of us were in a great deal of pain, she assured me that all of their therapists were amazing.... It was our first time there. I've always know about Back Rubz, but never gone as I have my own regular massage therapist. But this was the first time that both of us wanted massages at the same time. Our therapists were there to greet us. My boyfriends therapist Kelsey looked like she knew what she was doing, but mine, well mine was this young doughy girl who I could barley hear when she spoke. Now let me tell you about my massage... As i mentioned earlier, I was in great pain and needed, wanted and paid for a DEEP TISSUE massage. I got undressed and laid on the table, my therapist, her name was Ashley, came in and got started. I reminded her again that I wanted a deep tissue massage (that's what I paid for) and that I wanted a lot of pressure. She put her soft hands on my back and they felt like ghost hands, cold and not there. I'm thinking okay maybe she will toughen it up... Not so. I kept telling her I would like more pressure and it just didn't happen. So I gave up and just laid there while she greased me up and nothing more. I can't even call what she did a "fluffing" massage, it just was nothing more than getting oil rubbed on me. At the end she excused herself and I sat up and laughed out of exasperation. My boyfriend was in the waiting area when I came out and he had that look of complete relaxation, complete pain relief on his face (because he just received the best massage of his life from Kelsey) and I just wanted to scream! All in all, if you go here for a massage ask for Kelsey and no one else. I won't be coming back, unless I can get Kelsey because she is obviously the only one there that cares about her clients and their requests. read more

My daughter gifted me this massage, and even though I had visited there and enjoyed it before, this time was a total bust! Although the gal was not bad, unfortunate for them, a business next to them desided to start some construction just as I was getting a massage. There was banging, drilling and sawing the whole time I was there and I could Not enjoy my massage. As I paid and left, my gal said the owners would probably contact me about this terrible incident. Well, I waited over a week, and not one person called me to talk to me about it. But alas, they did nothing by mail, email or phone. I truly felt I wasted my time and my daughters hard earned money. While it's a bland, non-nondescript location that I have driven past a zillion times, it wasn't until I went based on a referral from a friend that I realized how great these ladies are. They fit me in and focused on the tension spots for my headaches. Best massages in town by far! My husband sees Ashley & I see Kelsey. They both do awesome deep tissue massage. My husband won't see ANYONE but Ashley! She does such an amazing job with deep tissue massage that sometimes my husband has to cry uncle- but that's a good thing. She has helped his carpal tunnel & back problems so much! What can I say about Back Rubz?? They are wonderful in every way. I have been going for years. Always efficient, always excellent. They return calls. They always have great massage therapists. Go for 15 minute neck, back massage. Go for a hour full body massage, go for hot rock massage. I don't even know what all they have. Clean nice relaxing rooms, anything you want to help your body.
