They don't answer the phone or return calls. I have been trying to make an appointment for 2 weeks.

He gave us a solution we felt confident would have a good outcome. He set up surgery for my wife with the help of his incredibly efficient , knowledgeable and caring staff at Redwood orthopedics in a very short time her surgery date was set. We received clear simple preop instructions and the day of her surgery went to the state of the art outpatient surgery center for the procedure. They could not be more caring. She went into surgery and after Dr Tompkins came out to personally tell me of the wonderful outcome. He did more work than was shown on the MRI and explained in simple layman terms what had taken place and what to expect in the coming recouperative period. The recovery nurses were knowledgeable caring and made her very comfortable. The next day we were scheduled to see him for aftercare where he and his staff reviewed with pictures work performed and told us how to care for her. I was amazed that even the night of the surgery her pain was less than before the surgery. The next day she was walking confidently about the house in relatively little pain and with full function of her knee. I just cant say enough about the professional treatment and quality care we received. My wife will be able with some physical therapy to walk again painlessly thanks to Dr Tompkins and his wonderful stall. Amazing

At my recent follow-up appointment, I was told that my hand is likely not going to improve any further--and at this point it is no better than it was prior to surgery. I was also told that in some cases these procedures may not result in improvement, and that the goal can sometimes be to prevent the condition from worsening, although even that is not guaranteed. This was very concerning to hear after the fact. These risks and expectations were not clearly explained to me before the surgery. Had I understood that there was a real possibility of no improvement, I would have approached the decision much differently. The recovery itself was extremely difficult. I went through roughly three months of significant limitation and discomfort, with very little use of my hand during that time, only to end up without improvement. I was also told in advance that the procedure would be covered under my insurance. However, I later received a bill for approximately $7,500, of which insurance only paid about $1,500. That was a major and unexpected financial burden. Communication from the office was also poor. Calls frequently went unanswered, voicemails were often full, and I did not receive callbacks. Additionally, there was no meaningful follow-up after surgery to check on my recovery or progress. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this provider. I would strongly encourage others to ask detailed questions about expected outcomes, risks, and insurance coverage before proceeding.

I had a major hand injury, and Dr. Grafe stepped up to help me when our largest hospital didn't have a hand doctor on call or on staff. He performed 2 surgeries in 3 months, all the while with a gentle bedside manner, explaining the process in detail, and answering my many questions. I felt very confident in his talents and expertise. When ever I mentioned his name, I was responded with " he's the best there is". I agree! Thank you Dr. Grafe and staff, especially his assistant Michelle.

I later got a bill for an office appointment to the tune of $200 because at the end of the appointment I said I was getting arthritis in my hands, and what should I do about it. Same problem as the other reviewer trying to get them to acknowledge the issue. What's worse is that when they sent me the copy of the office notes I requested, they put the hand issue at the top of the list, as if that is what we talked about first. I know medical practices are businesses, and profit is necessary, but come on, be fair to your patients!

This clinic's Pap include STD test, that's nice! So I thought.. The bill came, the Gonorrhea and chlamydia tests cost $700 and it's not covered by insurance as it's not part of routine Pap Smear. Calls to clinic just went straight to voicemail. I had to go to clinic to speak with a live person. I went on a regular office hour, and was told they're closing early. Kathleen King, a Medical Assistant, advised me to leave the bill and, nonchalantly, told me "we normally add STD testing. She will take care of it". Wow! That's against Patient's Rights!! Final bill came. I went back to see Kathleen King as the Billing Department said the clinic didn't do anything like rectifying billing code. She said, "It's still on my desk! I will work on it!" Of course! She didn't do anything!! Now, it's with collection!! I never thought a medical clinic can cause so much anxiety. Just wondering how many has fallen victim/s to this! They don't care!
