My grandmother was admitted to Marietta Memorial unexpectedly and my mom recommended that I call Aletha's directly to arrange for some flowers to be delivered. When I called, I reached Heidi who was friendly, knowledable and a great listener - it was important to me that Heidi really took the time to communicate about the arrangement and the delivery process. She even offered to send me a picture of the arrangement prior to delivery. The act of sending flowers tends to be underscored by an emotional event - sometimes a joyous one, sometimes a sad one. To be able to to pick up the phone in California at noon and reach a kind, professional like Heidi who delivers a beautiful floral arrangement to the hospital within two or three hours is priceless. Grandma loves them. She's raving about how lovely they are and that brings all of us who care about her and wish we were there a tremendous amount of solace. Thanks, Aletha's! Thanks, Heidi! We look forward to talking to you again - next time for a more joyous occasion like Grandma's 88th birthday...

I live out of state and rely on the store staff to prepare beautiful gifts for me. This year I called and spoke to the sales person. I told her she had a significant budget to make something beautiful. I received a call from the person it was delivered to and they said "you did not get your money's worth." I called the store and the worker told me "I told you the plant I was sending was the last one." She was rude and unwilling to help make amends. She told me I needed to call the person I sent it to and apologize to them. I will not be using their services again.

After driving 30 minutes the owner called her and the appointment was given to someone else by accident after having it in the books. Just as weird, this happened after my wife left a poor review regarding the owner. The owner said "there is a conflict of interest" and my wife is banned from the business. Posted above is WV law stating this banishment is a violation ofF state and federal laws!! I'm looking for other clients that have been treated like this by the owner. Favorite Things is a cozy shop nestled among a line of similarly charming shops near the Ohio and Muskingum rivers in downtown Marietta. My wife and I love to start our river crawl at the antiques shop by the Ohio River, and gradually, shop by shop, make our way down Front Street until we can rest our feet and sink our teeth into a block of fudge at Favorite Things. Accompanied by fresh coffee, naturally. Honestly I would never eat fudge except here. I think it's a Marietta tradition, or should be. Make a note, whomever is keeping track of such things!
