I highly recommend John to be your regular massage therapist. His medical approach towards chronic and acute muscular issues is completely customized. He is extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and can make you feel at ease in a matter of seconds. He gives the most thorough massage I've ever received. I'm very thankful to have found John. I have struggled with lower back and neck pain off and on for years. I have been to multiple massage therapists and chiropractors over the years with very little to no success...and then enter John. He was able to immediately identify and address the pain like no one had been able to. After working with John in one SINGLE session my pain had become fully absent. John does an amazing job at re-educateing your muscles for precision pain relief. His passion to help bring healing to people exhudes from him and he will always leave you with some knowledge on how to continue the healing process until the next time. read more

I had my first massage with John today. By far the best massage I've ever had. My body has been a completely out of alignment due to many injuries and just life itself. It wasn't just a massage it was more of the ligaments and getting the bones in proper alignment. Very good day. read more

THE BEST. John has a rare gift that puts him at the top of quite a long list of talented massage therapists that have treated my chronic neck and back pain over the years. He just rocked my world in one session. WOW read more

John has been my masseuse of choice for close to a year now. His experience, technique and knowledge are evident in all aspects of his practice. He's energetic, professional and quite simply a lovely person to invite into your home. I absolutely love that I can have such a high quality experience and treatment without leaving my house. When I've been hurting and in need for some serious treatment he has been extremely accommodating with fitting me into his schedule. He has helped me recover from injuries that have developed from years of childhood sports, current gym regimens and a stressful life in an ER. I have spent plenty of time and money on disappointing massages and I am extremely happy that I don't need to look any further. I've referred my husband, mother in law and bestie. Please try him out and tell him I sent you. read more

Having a chronic issue with my back I usually get a therapeutic massage on a regular basis, mainly for pain relief and stress relief. I found John Jones online and after reading some other reviews I knew I had to try him. He responded immediately, made an appointment for the following day and showed up on time, enthusiastic and ready to start the session. He arrived with all the gear, music, essential oils, and professional table nicely made up. He immediately made me feel at ease with his charming conversation and professional approach. I had just finished a hard day of building cabinets in my garage so my back muscles were especially contracted and painful. Immediately he knew where to begin to start releasing each muscle layer one by one, he taught me how to assist with deep breathing. It was amazing to feel my body start healing one area/muscle at a time. He has really strong hands and manipulates each muscle tissue to trick it to relax. He is well educated in the anatomy and his experience gives him his self assured approach. Next day I returned back to my project and worked just as hard thanks to John fixing me up to get back into my work. I really was needing a deep tissue treatment and know that no one else could have given me this tremendous relief and repair my back and get me back to my busy routine. I'm not going to wait until I'm back in that extreme need, I plan to book another session next week, for another tune up! read more

John has been our therapist for well over 10 years. If you have pain or limited range of motion or if you suspect that any issues you have could be spine-related, call John! He is a massage master and savant. He knows exactly what area to address to alleviate the situation. We don't get to see him as often as we like since he moved his business from Phoenix to San Diego but I was lucky enough to see him last Saturday. I have been having issues with my neck and shoulder and I get dizzy every time I turn my head. 90 minutes later, my shoulder's better, dizziness is gone, and my hearing improved (really, it did!). Thank you, thank you, thank you John! Seriously, there is no one better than him! read more

I've been seeing John for well over a year on a regular basis and have never been happier with a massage therapist. John has an immense wealth of knowledge which he draws upon and truly knows the body. He can easily adapt the massage session to what fits your needs and always does a great job. He is also offers some of the best advice and tips on what can help if your having a particular issue. One of the best things is his easy going nature and desire to help each of his clients. He is friendly and professional, always on time and very aware of his clients' needs. I have never had a massage I wasn't extremely satisfied with and I am always left feeling great. I would highly recommend John for all of the reasons above and more. read more

John has been my therapist for many years and I would never go anywhere else by choice. I recently relocated to Memphis so I had no choice but to see another therapist for some issues with a knee. I now know how fortunate I've been for the last 5+ years to have John work on me. While the girl here was good - she was nowhere near as good as John. I can say, without reservation, John Is the best in the business !!!! read more

I first discovered John in AZ after hip surgery and a bad back injury. I was so anxious to get "Back N Action" and living an active lifestyle and John helped me do just that....AND avoid back surgery!!! He is a true expert in his craft! All of these reviews highlight his knowledge and professionalism, I could not agree more, it's top notch to say the least! After a more recent and pretty bad neck injury, I attended over 30 physical therapy sessions with minimal results. I received injections that did much more harm than good. I was facing surgical options at this point. Coincidentally, I was sent on assignment to work in San Diego where I was able to connect with John.....THANK GOODNESS, he saved the day AGAIN with his amazing technique and passion for what he does. He truly listens to your needs and personalizes the massage to those needs. I can promise you, he's consistently AMAZING! So amazing, I moved to San Diego! Ditch the medications and costly dangerous procedures....John and his therapy are the absolute best medicine! read more

I sought treatment from John 3 weeks after a rearend car accident. I was having neck pain and headaches. The tension in my neck and shoulders was intense. John really worked on the areas that mattered most and gave me much needed relief. Within weeks, the headaches dissipated and the tension and pain lessened. He really knows the biomechanics of the body and does his work well. He also showed me exercises and stretches that will help me keep flexible. I'm making sure I keep his number around for anything that might come up in the future. This guy knows his stuff! read more

John is by far one of the best massage therapists out there. He clearly understands that the pain that you are feeling in certain areas of the body isn't necessarily the focal part of your problem. Also The convenient aspect of him being mobile is the icing on the cake. You can get a massage in the comfort of your own space without driving anywhere. He's very knowledgeable and very honest in what he does and I'll continue to go to him! read more

Jon is awesome! He is so knowledgeable about how the body works and moves. He knew exactly what muscles were causing me issues and how to strengthen the muscles that were weak. My body feels great after his treatments. Looking forward to seeing more results! read more

John Jones is the best! OMG! I am a body builder and with that comes all the tight and sore pains. I have having issues in my knees and in my right delt. I also needed to get the blood flow moving again to help the muscles grow. I woke up without any pain and with amazing energy. I will be returning to him for more and more maintenance work. John was able to get my husband worked into his schedule same-day and help relieve neck pain that was preventing him from daily activities. John was very knowledgeable, professional, and an all around rock star when it came to explaining exactly how he was treating him through each step of the massage. We will call upon John for our future needs. read more

I am more than happy to add another five star YELP review for John Jones and Back-N-Action! I suffered for days with acute and severe spasm of my upper back after two days of driving and a move to San Diego from Northern California, and I just figured that the problem would remedy itself after a day or two of rest. However, my misery induced me to seek relief with my first ever treatment by a therapeutic massage therapist. I chose to rely on YELP for a good recommendation, and my experience with John Jones has made me a true convert to the benefit of massage therapy. My pain and spasms were relieved after just one treatment, and I found myself castigating myself for not having sought treatment sooner. May I add that John Jones is not only competitent, but exceptionally professional and thoroughly knowledgeable in his profession. John is prompt and generous with his time, and he conducts his "house calls" with clean, comfortable and modern supplies and equipment. Look no further for a GREAT therapeutic massage therapist; John Jones is truly the "go to" guy! read more

John went above and beyond! He worked with my schedule and came on my birthday, which was awesome! I am an avid runner and while he was working on me he explained what he was doing and how he was fixing me then gave me a few strengthening tips. I can't wait to see him again! read more

John came highly recommended by a friend who John helped eliminate knee pain. After experiencing lower back pain for a couple months, and a 16 hour flight, I had a great session that helped alleviate my pain. John was able to quickly pinpoint my trouble areas and crafted a session that targeted those areas. He is a professional that demonstrated his expertise right from the start. I already have my next follow up on the books. read more

During the past 8 years I have tried different therapists, different techniques and Sports therapy and massage as part of my triathlon program. Two years ago I had a bad injury on the leg while training, it kept me without walking for a week. I took pain killers, I went to lots of therapies, I tried at least 5 different therapists and even doctors and no one could help me get rid of the pain. Before that I started with lower back issues, I spend thousands of dollars in rehab and doctors, and it kind of helped but I just think I learned to live with pain. Less than a year ago I discovered John, he is THE BEST therapist on earth, no joke. He worked on both injuries and finally I got rid of pain. As I train for long distance triathlon I still get a weekly massage to prevent injuries. I totally recommend John, since the first session you will definitely notice the difference and in a very short period of time you will see excellent results. He is super professional and experienced. read more

John is the best massage therapist I have had! I have had many issues ranging from IT Band dysfunction to those stress related knots. When physical therapy was not helping enough I started seeing John and after only a couple sessions I began to see drastic improvements. I usually need a lot of work and what most would consider deep tissue however with John's techniques I don't find myself feeling as sore or like I was bruised, which is how I feel when I receive deep tissue massages from any other massage therapist. He also does a great job in explaining everything as well as showing stretching techniques. I've never had anyone who compares! I highly recommend him to everyone! read more

I highly recommend John. He has taken me out of pain many times. His knowledge and healing hands keep this older person active

John is simply awesome. I was not looking for a massage that would just put me to sleep - I was looking for something that would benefit my overall health and wellness. John is more than a run of the mill CMT, he knows the human body, knows triggers for stress and emphasizes alignment and stretching. At times it was painful, but a few days later, I am still feeling the benefits. I expect to see John on a regular basis. Highly recommend! read more

John is hands down the best massage therapist I have ever had. After my first appointment, I was sold. After multiple knee surgeries, it is safe to say my body has some issues. Not only does John work to relieve pain in my knee but also many issues stemming from the knee injury. I love that after each appointment John suggests stretches and exercises to help with any pain I may be having. The fact that he comes to you for your appointment is just the icing on the cake to his well-run business. I will continue to refer my friends and family to John! read more

We are San Diego residents. I am testifying to a miracle unfolding before our eyes. My husband could barely walk. His back and hips were considered to be a surgical solution by Dr's. One year of chiropractic and the Dr. said can't help you, go get surgery, laser therapy - worked only for a few days. Desperate for a solution we went with Massage Therapy not knowing the outcome. John was recommended by a neighbor who had broken their back and couldn't get out of bed. My husband's mobility and walking pattern is now beginning to look like he is walking with two legs rather than dragging one behind. He no longer complains of back pain and is working towards more agility. This transformation has occurred with just three sessions. Would we recommend John? Our answer is beyond yes!!! He is as professional as it gets and better yet, he knows exactly what he is doing. Happy healing! read more

John is AMAZing!!! I can't believe my luck finding him, but then again, that's why I love Yelp. I have had various injuries over a lifetime of activities, both from overuse and sports jams. The result is, I feel like my whole body needs rehab, adjustment and reassembly. A sore joint here, tight muscles there, subluxated this, fasciitis that... Finding yet another chiropractor, physical therapist and/or orthopedist to help me heal felt ominous. I'd already been down those roads and the outcomes were either short lived or non productive. A massage- deep, therapeutic, restorative, and from a practitioner intuitive to my body's needs felt more in line with what I called out to the universe for on the day I found John. I read his reviews on yelp and took a chance that he'd give me something I could write about. I've now had 3 massages from him and can already feel the progress. I've self enlisted in a once a week session with him, intending to return to full form and healthy alignment and function. So far so good! I am fortunate and grateful to be in the hands of his skilled and gifted practice! I highly highly highly recommend and endorse his exceptional services! read more

John gave me my life back !!!! I have been a ballroom dancer for almost 40 years. My feet have been getting worse for several years now and i was seriously worried i would have to stop dancing and I am only almost 70 years old. I would try to stay off my feet if I had a dance that night and would elevate them for an hour or two every day. Nothing helped. I tried different shoes and insoles too. I have over 20 friends still dancing in their nineties and i wanted to be like them! I was unable to walk barefoot without pain,,, even wore rubber shower sandals in the shower to avoid standing barefoot on a hard surface. I was unable to sleep lying on my back without a large triangular pillow under my knees. I can now walk barefoot,,, sleep on my back without a pillow with my legs straight out,,, dance for hours on end multiple days in a row without pain. I couldn't be happier. His extensive knowledge of what is connected to what and where everything is,,, is amazing. He truly understands how the body works and is connected. He has worked on me from my head to my toes and there are a few other smaller issues he is working on too. I have referred him to my grandson, an althlete, who loves the changes,,, and my daughter,, a yoga instructor,, who is also amazed at what he does,,, and a ballroom dancer friend who also loves him !!! And he comes to your home which is so convenient. And gives you exercises to do between visits. It is an education and he is so pleasant and knowledgeable. read more
